How thick is your overall rear rotor diameter? according to RDA's catalogue, the rear R33 non turbo has an 8mm rear rotor thickness, being so thin, it is usually made as solid disc. There were a few ppl bought RDA7692 with 8mm thickness and it fits ok to rear R33 non turbo...

rotors on car are 15mm thick, supplied rotors are 10mm thick (there 8mm on the end due to a 1mm tapered lip on each side)

so 5mm thickness difference

ps all other dimensions are identical though

That must be because the old RDA7690 is no longer in production... that was 15mm thick, and was officially for a R32 GTS.

RDA catalogue only have RDA7692 listed that will fit within your rear caliper... 15mm vs 10mm is only about 2.5mm less on each side

so should be no problems... there were a few other R33 non turbo owners who bought RDA7692 previously and they didn't have problems fitting them on. if you do, let me know.

Cheers, Rianto

possibly a stupid question... but can you oversize the rotors and order GTR's one for a GTT?? or do you need bigger calipers to match?

the rear discs on my car (standard) just look pretty damn small...

no it's not stupid question.

it is possible, but the onus lies on you to fabricate or get someone to fabricate caliper adapter or finding an adapter to suit. mind that R34 GTT rotor's hat height could be different to GTR, so the position of the rotor might be different and you may need to consider the repositioning in addition to the diameter difference...

apparently the difference is very little, this is from a friend who was looking at the RDA line-up

"Hey do you know if the GTR rotors fit your Skyline? As far as i can see from the spec sheet they GTR ones are 324mm vs 310mm and th eonly other difference is the GTR ones are 53.8mm high vs 53.75mm..."

so that's a .05mm difference, which doesn't sound massive.

I'll start a thread in the braking section to see what people think, if it's not a huge job it might be worth getting bigger rotors if the price isn't much different.

Actually, is the price much different between standard slotted front/rear for the GTT and GTR?

probably not worth the hassle Daniel .. I'm sure Nissan engis knew what they were doing when they decided on the rotor sizes. Besides most of the braking is at the front due to the weight of the engine which is why the discs are bigger at the front. Slotted rotors should give you better than stock braking anyway.

don't know much, but i'd imagine bigger discs would give you better heat resistance as there is a greater surface area to dissipate the heat, and if there isn't much to modify and the prices are relatively similiar, could be a cheap upgrade ontop of the slotted upgrade

price wise front R34 GTT & R34 GTR is the same

but the rear R34 GTR is the same as the front (in slotted) and the R34 GTT is cheaper at the back.

R34 GTR front 324mm rear 300mm

R34 GTT front 310mm rear 297mm

It's only 14mm difference at the front, it's probably not worth mocking around with caliper adapter and stuff for such a small upgrade.

Unless you have an R33 gtst with 296mm front then some people upgrade this to a gtr front as there is more difference in size at the front.

    • Yea - I mean I've seen my fuel pump which is decades old and uh, while I'm not saying this with real knowledge... but I sure get the ick at using anything in the fuel system that produced the state of that pump. Many years ago I went through multiple pumps (and strainers) before I dropped the tank to clean it out with extreme violence. I'm talking the car would do maybe 50km before coming to a halt, which resulted in me cleaning out the filter with some brake cleaner and going on my way. None of my stuff ever looked like what came out of your fuel tank. I don't think I'd be happy with it unless every single component was replaced (or at least checked/cleaned/confirmed to be clean here).
    • I'm not going to recommend an EBC pad. I don't like them. Just about anything else would suit me better. I've been using Intima pads for a while now.
    • Agreed, and in particular the earth strap that should go from the subframe to the chassis but it often broken or left off. There is a section in the R32 workshop manual you can follow for troubleshooting if you don't see anything suspicious, and depending where you are (there is no location on your user profile) you should be able to get your hands on a second hand replacement unit still if needed
    • Yeah they mention as a R34 for 2.5 Turbo...but then again thos "small" were also for R34 by that different site. But i look into it and that 310mm EBC is for R34 GTT. And by those you linked the specs are the same 🙂    EDIT: I found these on one site here: DBA 4000 series T3 DBA42304S They are 310mm...and it says are for R34GTT...are there good? EDIT2: ok they have pads too.  What "color" should i get for street use? I dont want/need some noisy ones...(and if they are not that dusty that is good too)
    • Yeah, shame. Maybe  driver's carpet is available 🙏. I am waiting for both amayama and nangun to confirm.
