chad noooo! nice cool night tongiht got the car back with all its glory did some changes and took it for a boost. had crimmo keepin an eye on the hand controller.. 4wd was playing up but holy hell did it handle amazingly.. semi's were scraping on the rear guards a little bit

And I only gave the guard roller I borrowed back today, if I'd know we could have fixed the rubbing problem.

Jenkies as for the go hard early theory, the minimum over night is 32 (i.e. at 6:30am) the first session doesn't start until 10am, I would say the temp would have to be nudging 38 by the time the first session has started. Also Mallala is generally 2-4 degrees hotter than Adelaide.

I'm going to get up at 7 am and if it dark out to the west I'll come out but if the change isn't on the horizon I'll be giving it a miss (but may still come out for a looksie).

I think I will be doing something very similar there Dale. I have found the forecast for Mallala stating min 24 max 40, NW winds (hot) backing to SW (cooler) by 3 pm, and 50% chance of rain <1mm. I don't want to give everyone false hope of a cooler day, but for me the car will be packed ready to roll and decision made at 7 am in consult with a quick actual condition update via the weather pages.

popped the bonnet just before and the radiator hole is leaking??? as in there is cement/plaster looking shit and a bit of radiator fluid coming out all the way around the edge of the hosing? I'am assuming the hose is shagged internally....

Ryan

OK, I just got off the phone with Dale and he has made a few calls and found out that we can enter Modern Regularity on Sunday if we can get a few people interested, as they are low on numbers at the moment. Sunday will be a lot cooler so it would suit us better. It will cost about $115 plus $25 if you dont have a cams licence. Here is some info on Modern Regularity If anyone is interested please let us know and Dale will see if we can get this happening.

Cheers, Chad.

Looks like im not running brake ducts anymore, wipped them out on the drive home lol. Should have enough cooling tho.

I'll just use tomorrow as a day to get to know the track and my car better. Wont go flying out there.

I'm interested in Sunday, but I guess I'm alittle late to be trying to sort that out now, oil temp im worried about Saturday but I'll go if the Sunday thing with Modern Regularity if I can.

Ok here's the run down,

I spoke to a few guy's from the Austin 7's club about the modern Reg' day on Sunday as the max' temp is supposed to be 25. Normally the entry forms have to be in by Wednesday but they will let us enter on the day we just have to be there by 8:30am, i'll give them a call tomorrow with rought numbers just so they know how many extras are coming .

If you read Chad's link you will know most of this;

You have the have a road worthy car (Street Registered) Car, you must have a blue triangle to show the location of the battery, you must have a rear tow hook (If you are running the factory rear bar you will have this), you need an extinguisher (at least 900g) and a helmet.

As for the day licence I will find out and get back to you all tomorrow.

As for track time i have been told by people who have entered this event previously that it compares to a track day. The first session is short and they gradually get long throughout the day until the last session were you will be on the track for around 25 minutes.

The 25 comes from My Sisters BF who drives NO GRIP. He said that the last session the last time he was out there was at least 15 laps long which is a touch over 20 minutes (the 25 was a guess I just work out the just over 20) if your pulling 1:23's like he was.

He said that the first session was 5 laps then the next was 7 and so on until the last session as above. I guess it all depends on how many people are out there as with track days.

I spoke to Dave Greer today after getting hold of him through Ralph (the president)'s wife as Ralph wasn't home. Tony is the person who I was going to get hold of tomorrow so if you can PM me his number that would be great.

    • What 1.5 way? There's no such thing really as a 1.5 way, just different ways of explaining 2 ways with different ramp rates. HOWEVER. In any driving in a straight line your 1.5 or 2 or 1.7 way should have no clunking at all. With the clutch fully depressed the diff should be silent (unless it's welded but I'm assuming it's not). Something aint right here.
    • Clutch is a spec brand, new clutch system,( PP, flywheel, friction disc, etc. pull type) installed 100 miles ago, with no problems.
    • looking for some help and maybe some insight on others experience with a new LSD. R34 GT ran and drove beautifully, but always alot of grip loss due to the open R200 rear end, so I just installed a new 1.5 LSD way into the stock open R200 for a ER34. Simple. Everything seemed right. I test drove for the first time this weekend. as I started to back out the garage the first time slowly with tires straight it sounded and felt like I had a loose or half disconnected drive shaft...that was clucking around loose and shaking entire vehicle, and making it feel like the trans clutch was spontaneously slipping then grabbing very roughly while just letting out pedal slowly. I backed it out went to pull forward with the same noise, shake and slip grab feeling with hesitation, I turned the tires to back out more and then pulled ahead some same thing but worst because of added wheel resistance (which that I expected) puzzled … pulling it back in checking everything over and finding nothing wrong, I tried it the next day. same thing, couldn’t believe how it shook everything again making a terrible noise and making it feel like the trans clutch was slipping and grabbing, but I got it out of garage into the driveway, got it straight, drove forward and then reveres a few times in a straight line everything shaking , causing what felt like clutch slip and grab every time, sounded like right behind front driver tire and I could feel it in the floor board with my feet,... worst right when beginning to let clutch pedal out to engage slightly, shuttering and sounding terrible along the way…I managed to slowly get down the road, babying it the whole way, once I was rolling (out of 1st) seemed to be better and between shifts, then clutch felt closer to normal…not slip/ grab etc., but back down to any stop, straight road or turning, same thing. Made no difference if all tires were straight or if I was turning. All other gauge read out correct. with in 2 miles as planned I reached the empty parking lot and performed the break in procedure that came with lsd, essentially to drive in a figure 8 a bunch.  Did this, binding chattering, and shaking the car the whole way. I drove it back home seemed somewhat normal once I was in straight line and past 10 mph or so, and I know it will “bind” on corners and cause some tires squeal when turning especially from a stop, but when I begin to move it still causes what feels like the trans clutch to slip and jerk badly as well as shaking the entire car, and sounds terrible, that I didn’t expect. I used the fluid they supplied with LSD kit and did the breaking, planning to change fluid as they suggest after breaking, but wondering will it get smoother or less aggressive with use? maybe a 1.5 is just too aggressive for normal road driving?   I have a LSD that I put in my 71 cuda when I restored it, with amazing smooth , quite yet effective results. Different style LSD but that ones a joy to drive. maybe expecting too much from this R200?
