hey guys the popping on de acceleration has been getting worse for awhile and last night at the drags made it ten times worse. Orginally i thought the cat had shit itself but i had it on a hoist today and the exhuast is all good. And there appears to be no exhaust leaks and no intake leaks and it is holding boost what can course this poping. It appears to be down on power as well. I am hoping that a spike to 16 psi last night down the strip hasnt affected the stock turbo.

its normal to have abit of popping, my pops it ass off normally :)

If you think its excessive or getting worse i would check for intake leaks, just simple things like tight hose clamps and all vacuum hoses are on tight with cable ties. What bov are you running? Could that be leaking slightly?

Also what ecu are you running? stock or tuned?

if the turbo is still boosting fine without funny noises it should be ok, a quick 16psi spike wont hurt it, continous high boost will.

Also remember it is summer now, turbo cars hate the heat so its normal to have a significant drop in power during the day aswell.

lol yeah its good but mine sounds pritty bad more like a old shit box back firing but instead its poping lol i will check the cooler pipes and extra tomorrow. It has a stock ecu but its been retuned by toshi and i am running a stock bov

check your plugs for fouling,

my gtr runs pretty rich, and starts backfiring after about 2 months, especially in summer, the plugs will soot up, i just clean them and problem gone........

hope this works for ya

i will check the plugs there only alittle bit over a month old and the o2 sensor is good its not old at all and tested it a couple of weeks ago and i would mind the pop if it wasnt to excessive but it is quiet bad

I had a problem similar to this turned out to be a leaking o-ring in an injector.

however it can be a number of things a small vacume leak, plugs, afm, 02 sensor. since plugs and 02 sensor are newish i would look at clean afm, then change fuel filter (never know) then look for any fuel leaks

    • So either way it is gearbox out and look what is wrong?  I know about the input shaft bearing. Even before swap/new clutch the it sounded exactly like this: So is that inout shaft bearing or the other was installed backwards?  And can some please tell me the part number for that input shaft bearing? The gearbox is small box from R34 N/A and number is FS5W71C. Thank you
    • I am yet to see anyone ever regret a quaife or helical. ...other than drifting/skidpan duties. I kind of want to upgrade my factory helical with a Quaife (but really it's not ultimately that different, and is a MASSIVE UNDERTAKING), that's how good the hype is about them, that I want to try them 'just to see'
    • D2 and Ksport are essentially the same thing and basically just generic Taiwanese manufacture. Better than ChinaBay crap, but... not top shelf. Öhlins have got to be some of the best dampers around, so likely to be a good option. It's going to get to the point though where I suggest you buy from Oz. We have at least 2x excellent options here. If I were you though, I'd be talking to KW about doing something for the R33. There's bugger all difference between that and the 32. In GTR land, anyway.
    • KW only offers a set for the R32 GTR. Popular options are D2 racing, Ksport or Öhlins. I have a D2 Racing coilover set, though I don't know for sure which one.
    • Well, the good news is you have more than one very good option for new coilovers in and around your country. Worth the drive over to KW to talk about GTR stuff.
