Who do you guy's use?. I need to get the Radical's suspension sorted out pretty quickly.

I was hoping I could get Gary from Selby suspension to do it but I'm running out of time and he's a hard man to get a hold of.

I really don't want a street car guy doing it,,,,I'm after someone that actually knows how to set up a race car that I can sit down and talk to about it.

Neil.

I'll try to find out for you who my brother went to on the weekend if you like. The guy does the setup for some of the Porsche Cup cars. I think he is at Taren Point

Hey Neil,

Give East Coast Suspensions a bell, they are just around the corner form Just Jap.

Shop 9, Auto Plaza,

16 Waratah Street

Kirrawee Ph: 95451044

Racetige is owned and opperated by Nick who used to work for Dave at East coast suspension.

He is very good at what he does and has a good turn around time.

East coast are also very good at what they do but very pricey for the same service (yes Ive used both)

Heasmans are good but for what Neil wants they are not the best place to go to I don't think.

Garry is a very hard man to catch now days Neil but I will be seeing him shortly if you dont get in contact.

Do you know how you want the car weighted Neil and what allignment/ geometry your after??

I have a set of scales (proper ones) and bump steer guages if you want to have a go yourself.

Thanks for the feed-back boys,,,much appreciated.

Duncan has been organizing Garry,,,who would be my 1st pick,,,only because I know him and trust him.

Brad if you talk to him could you get him to ring me on .

I'll ring both ECS and Ractige on Monday and see what they say.

Heasman's are not what I would consider a race car orriented shop. I know they wouldn't give me the time to set-up the car that I need.

Brad,,,thanks for the offer but I'm not going to play with something I really only have a limted amount of knowledge about.

Funny I played last year with the rear set-up and made improvements ,,,but I know I'm gonna stuff it up soon.

I have all the factory setup specs of which I would like to have set and then have a talk about what we can do about improving it.

The Radical has a very different front sway bar than any other car which needs someone to sit down and think about.

It uses what Radical call a "Nic" link sway bar system which uses bell cranks and stuff that most scratch there heads about.

I agree with you about heasmans.

Nick has been around open wheelers a fair bit so should be able to steer you in the right direction with the radical. But what he has learn has also come from east coast who are also very good.

Comes down to which place you get the better vibe from I guess.

I should see garry tommorrow or at least talk with him.

    • Hi everyone, I've been wrestling with this for a while now and have been trying to find out the cause. For context, the turbos used are Garrett 2860 -5s, the BOV is a BNR32 HKS SSQV IV kit, the car is currently tuned to ~470 whp on 17.5 psi. The car drives normally, pulls well when it doesn't happen, and I can replicate it fairly easily. It does not sound like turbo shuffle or flutter. The engine has only a thousand or so miles and has had this behavior since it was completed. After my engine was built for my R32 GTR, I noticed that the car now sometimes makes an air discharge sound on what appears to be positive boost pressure that sounds really similar to a BOV. I had thought that it was a BOV issue but even when replacing it with a brand new unit, the sound persisted. It seems like it's coming from the passenger side but I may be mistaken. The closest scenario I could find was this post here https://www.gtr.co.uk/threads/maybe-a-boost-leak-opinions.147955/https://www.gtr.co.uk/threads/maybe-a-boost-leak-opinions.147955/ started by @yakshii and it sounds very similar. As in, at partial throttle once I reach positive boost I begin to hear the same psh psh psh psh psh sound like air is leaking somewhere when I keep the throttle in the same position. It most commonly happens in 4th gear at around 3-3.5k RPM and 5th gear around 2.5-3k RPM, which seems to coincide with normal positive boost thresholds. It might be similar to what @Austrian GTR mentioned about his own HKS SSQV. Notable difference would be that when he applies more throttle when it happens, it stops. In my scenario if I apply more throttle during this repeated psh psh psh sound, the cadence of the sound gets faster and louder rather than stopping. If I lift off slightly and apply throttle again, it will normally stop and pull without issue. I've checked all rubber couplers to ensure that they are tight, but have not gotten the opportunity to properly do a pressurized boost leak test. If anyone has had similar experiences or thoughts on what might be the cause, I'd be very keen to hear them. I also have a video of it happening from inside the cabin, if that would make it easier to understand: https://youtu.be/2zqZXcx8jbA
    • I'd want at least $40K for mine, but thats easy to say cos I'm not selling anyway.
    • That's incorrect. We have 4 seasons, consisting of pre winter, winter, post winter and a small glimpse of hope!
