CSA Hillclimb - Haunted Hills Gippsland

Date: 30th May

Time: Gates open at 8am, Scrutinizing 8.30am, Practice Runs at 9am.

You will require a AASA Or CAMS license to compete.

Got a bit of a grudge match going between me and a mate, this event would be perfect for it, how do we go about getting a license?

We will be limiting entrants so that everyone can get plenty of runs. This track is apparently the bomb, and all are assured of having a very good day. Limited entries of course puts the price up a little, but makes it worth it in the long run, coz you get a lot more runs.

You must have a AASA or CAMS license to compete. You can not get a license on the day. email [email protected] for AASA Forms, the cost is $55.00 I think. Or you can join SAU to get your CAMS affiliation and then buy a CAMS license.

You Must also be a member of a CAMS or AASA Affiliated car club to compete in this event. CSA membership for the year is $50.00 plus a $15.00 joining fee, still cheaper than having a CAMS license.

CSA Memberships expire in May, so you will get one full year membership, and if you are competing, we will waive the joining fee. If you want to become a member just for the weekend, it will cost you $20.00, but you will still have to buy your AASA License.

You require a membership to an incorporated club to compete in this event, so that you are covered for your public liability and so that the track is insured for you.

Any questions, please just yell.

Oh, you also need to be a member of a car club to be able to get your AASA License, and it has to be a club that is incorporated and has public liability insurance. There are plenty of clubs out there that have this ability.

Confirmed spots - 50 only. This makes the event exclusive and will ensure everyone gets a heap of runs.

Early Bird pricing until the 31st March - $75.00 - first 25 spots only.

After that Pricing is $95.00.

This is cheap motor racing guys, and a great day out, also not too far from home.

I thought AASA did not require you to have/be part of a club at all.

Thats how DECA & AASA membership works for all our events as AASA doesnt require you to be part of a club as there is no affiliation like with CAMS to get a CAMS license.

When did it all change?

thats over 5 months away. the sau motorsport calendar is about to be released and the first round is at haunted hills on the 14th of feb. less than 4 weeks.

who is the csa club?

5 months is good for me, atm my car is being fixed, it has an "unknown problem" which means it is "unknown $$$$" to fix.........

sorry mate thats all i was told by our motorsport man, ill look in to it further if you like, but all its really asking is that if you want to compete you have to be a member of a car club.

Well going by what AASA have told us themselves, you dont need to be a member of any club to be covered by thier event permits.

Thats how DECA works under AASA for us, same with any of the Track Days held under AASA around Victoria. No membership required.

Just being a member makes little to no sense because if the club isnt affiliated, whats the difference?

Plus there are no affiliation fees/requirements for AASA as yet another point.

I think your motorsport man needs to do some more information finding as your post is extremely confusing and potentially incorrect based on what we have seen with SAU-Vic events using AASA for years.
