45 shit you guys got hotter than us, thats average weather for us (you sooks)the highest wev'e had is 52 here, and working 30 meteres up in the sun no shade that kills ya a bit, nothing better than to go for a 2 hour enduro ride, you loose a fair bit by the end lol.

Dam it was hot today , I fit tyres and i was wearing leather gloves and the wheel nuts were still burning throught the gloves, then there are wheel alighments aswell with your head next to a very hot exhaust did i mention f***en hot exhaust . Well done to all the people who made it through the day good job boys and girls. Oh does this weather kill the amount boost the car has and slow it down , sry first turbo car :P

u guys need to harden up, try powder coating for 8 hours a day. in a shed with a low roof and an oven that sits at 200C all day and then think about the damn white spray painters suit that lets no air in or out. add to that there can be no fans which would blow the powder around. that makes for one really hot effen day. i used to have a thermometre in the shed but it used to scare the guys i would have come in and help for an hour or so once it got up to the 80C or higher mark

Haha i was going to mention powder coating. Today I was helping to powder coat for a while and tig welding. Started an hour early to try and beat the heat a little bit too.

It was meant to be my RDO today, when i found out how hot it was gonna be, i decided to go to work and enjoy the aircon there. The aircon at home sucks...walked in the front door this arvo, hot inside, mum said the aircon shat it self, so now im sitting in front on my pc which is warming the air, and no aircon.

So...who's around the aldinga area that wants to make a new friend???

spent most of the day in the pool. which was at a refreshing 30 degrees, probably less in the actual pool, temp sensor uses a weird spot to take the temp. and indoors its about 23. its pretty awesome.

LOL my A/C is churning out cold air. 22c but heading out soon for dinner.

go over to the beach mate. !!!!!

Well it was 52 degrees in the workshop today (I'm sure that was snow falling on the roof today), we have no A/C no fan and no fridge. My boss is in hospital and my apprentice is at Tafe so I had three mens work to do today including fitting tyres and changing exhausts, have the flu but can't go home as I'm now a one man band, started at 5am, finished bout 20mins ago (6:30pm) and have to go back at 9 when it cools down to do another three hours work on a Gas conversion, and somehow gotta get back up at 4am to start by 5am again tomorrow, I get home to my miss's sitting in the A/C watching tele and says,

"So whats for tea?". I looked blankly at her for a second and walked away after grabbing myself a cold beer. Anyone want my life? lol

Mind you I did 20 aircon's today so this weather is great for that, and more booked in tomorrow.

Oh by the way.... HOW ABOUT THIS HEAT?

"Everybody A...............SS.....................HO...............LE"

Beach is a good idea...however i don't want my car keys stolen...i don't trust them in a bag on the beach with me 50-100m away in the water. I sure as hell ain't walking there in this heat from my place. I have a temp sensor inside the house...35 degrees according to it.

I currently have an old wall mounted a/c going (on high) and 3 fans and it is still 31.9 degrees in my lounge room... and my bedroom is even hotter!

probably because of all those hot swedish chicks u brought back from europe.

bastard.

HTFU guys

I got an air conditioned office running 22 degrees all day with ice cold cans of coke when I need them. I sit behind my computer all day doing bookkeeping and CAD work. Hard work it is.

Yeah, I know, sucks to be me!

    • It was a great, but typical track day, and some VB was ingested at the night time debrief 🤪
    • And so, to round this out, I couldn't be happier to confirm @MBS206 has decided to buy the car. He drove down from sunny QLD with a trailer last week and it is off to its new home today. I'll let Matt confirm on next steps but I understand broadly that the plan is to leave it pretty much as is, and just get some quality wheel time with a nicely balanced car that is pretty much track ready. There are a few a jobs still to be done first but nothing too major and I think its a very smart buy Dinner last night at the Paragon with a round of VBs (mostly) for Neil
    • Well, 50 pages and the end of a chapter for this car. We took it out for a shakedown at Wakie yesterday, and everything went well. There were a couple of niggles: - Oil cooler fitting leak - tightened, cleaned, stopped leaking - Radiator cap overflow fitting was leaking....Mark called it, the overflow fitting was threaded in and not tight....tightened, tested and held pressure - Small oil leak at the rear of the block, probably the turbo oil feed - too hot to get at it comfortably but probably just needs to be nipped up - leak at the driver's side rear brake line where it meets the hardline. Fitting wasn't loose, so Matt backed it off and back on, no further leaks - there's also a leak somewhere on the top of the fuel tank, maybe that cross over fuel line - that was has been left to fix when its on a hoist Otherwise than those niggles the car went great, turned great and stopped great so it was a very successful day out. I'm always really nervous when a car first hits the track after a long break, especially with a brand new engine as well but it was great. VID-20251011-WA0007.mp4  Big thanks to @The Bogan who dropped by and helped out, @MBS206 and my nephew Lachlan the apprentice.  Neil's wife Mel also surprised the hell out of all of us by dropping by; she's up in Tamworth these days but was travelling to Melbourne so had plausible deniability for turning up at the garage, it was great to see her but also obviously a bit sad all round.

    • Unsolicited advice? Keep the engine as close to stock as you can. Nothing wrong with adding some boost and making a little more power, but given where you are, you really don't want to try to make it into a monster. I can't imagine the roads are up to it, and the lack of locla support when it grenades will be a ball ache. FWIW, If there is a dyno around that you can access, then brand new injectors are a good idea, which will lead you to (at least) putting a Nistune in it, which will allow you to put an R35 AFM on it, all of which will make it possible to make it much much nicer to drive and live with.
