Sorry Manuel, I am somewhere else. Anyway what happened to your job at Fawlty Towers, did Basil fire you???

People on this board are notorious for regurgitating what has been said on here over and over so many times it's now considered fact. Somebody gets different numbers from what you expect and they are full of shit, or are using BS "american hp numbers". I'm not saying everybody does it, but a lot.

I will grant you guys there are differences in dyno's, and there are a lot of inertia dyno numbers still coming out of the states, but these differences are not 10-15% different from what you guys are claiming--especially on a Mustang dyno which is one of the lowest reading dyno's out there. His 132mph was with less boost and less timing than the dyno run also, so keep that in mind. He's go a full weight R33 and he's not a skinny guy. BTW, how many dyno figures are there on here of people pushing 30psi with that much timing out of a GT35r?

**Edit--perfect example, how many of you guys jumping on this "that's a BS number" bandwagon have any experience with anything but a stock turbined car? I know some of the guys posting have some nasty cars, or have built quit a few, but if you haven't ever run quicker than 13's, you might want to keep your comments to yourself. :)

I am more then qualified to comment in this thread. So i will.

I have had arguements with Mr Reagan on many occations over the last year about his claimed power figures, he never had a dyno (appart from a engine dyno) to test it on and the quarter mile runs he does does not count the MPH from what he tells me.

This guys only passion in life is his skyline, like most of us here but there is one difference, he has no support, access to no spare parts.. In fact it is ILLEGAL to import second hand car parts into his country, only NEW parts are allowed.

they tune his car on the STREET, with 380 - 400rwkw that he has he would be spinning the wheels all over the road and only the bottom to mid range of the tune was too rich if anything.

His tuner got rolled and robbed for his laptop and personal belongings when on the side of the road tuning a car for someone. Honestly i can admit we are spoilt here compared to how he has it and he still manages to pull out a low second quarter at 132 mph. Its easier to let him have his HP claim even though we know its not fully acurate but he is packin alot of horse power and is out there kicking everyones ass showing who is boss.

We did help him heaps in his travels, sorry you took this the wrong way mate but good work and it would be good to see you grab 140mph - that way we can put the power to MPH in our own aussie gauge.

Post up some more pics of your skyline...

BTW Reagan, Trident lives in the outback of australia.. he has access to open roads you could only dream of and he has the cover to protect his Skyline. Things are different in all parts of this country. Maybe you should visit sometime.

& BTW mate, you can take back the comment about where you are from.. I am from a country next door to yours.. (well half of me) my dad used to build and tune Race Boats in Argentina.. :(

To say nothing of the meth injection as well.

on gtr.co.uk someone took a car (probably crank hp dyno) on N1s from 460 to 620 on water/meth, without changing a thing just the tune.

at least that is what they posted, but it is quite plausible.

Its the internet. Everyone is qualified, You just ask them.

I dont think there is one person who doesnt respect what regan has done with his car, Given the obvious difficulty in completing a project like that in his locale it is a credit to him and all involved.

I just wish he'd find his funny bone. We take the piss out of each other on a daily basis and if any one burrs up the dose doubles. Maybe its a cultural difference or maybe hes just a humorless twit, or maybe our attempt at humor is just pathetic. Who knows. The truth is, as long as he keeps bitin like a moreton bay shark hes going to get baited.

This is after all an aussie forum. I dont think its our duty to do a cultural study to find out what makes regan tick.

Quite the opposite in fact.

Maybe we should introduce him to Roger Cordia. I see similar personality traits.

As I said earlier Seriously don't worry about telling people dyno numbers, there are many who's whole car experience and life goals revolve around these silly pieces of paper.

Instead the idea is to get the car to run great times, which you are certainly on the way to doing and no doubt having fun with. Having quicker or more consistant times as you goal will see you become a more competitive racer.

Alot of the drag racing people I grew up around had no idea exactly how much power thier cars were making, at the time the dyno's that exsisted would not have been able to cope.

And it's still true today of the most competitve.

Awesome effort!

By the way Aussies do have a big side to thier humour thats about cutting each other down, we aren't serious when we do it.

See what? a dyno run + Rabi? I'm not actually arguing over the power being right or wrong. It ran a 10.8 at 128mph, it made happy power on a machine I do not control. If 128mph means less HP in real world testing, then so be it. What are we all trying to prove here?

AFAIK the guy I sold it to now runs an auto, keep an eye out at Willow Bank I guess

And I did a 128mph with only 350kw out of a stock RB25 with a GT30, also on a dusty POS track like Regan runs on,,, bad tracks make for very odd MPH's

Video of 128mph at only 11.6

Nope, not according to 2rismo and some others!! Spinning violently through 1st, 2nd, and part of third will not affect your mph, not even a little! Just ask him

Ha ha ha, thats why with my new suspension setup and decent track I ran a 11.1 at 1mph slower.

    • Must have been an absolute nightmare to drive when the power steer was out, the rack ratio/wheel size/caster is all set up for power assistance
    • Welcome to SAU, what are you looking at buying?
    • I checked the injectors again (1 and 2, since they’re easiest to access) to make sure they weren’t clogged. Even though the entire fuel system had been cleaned, I wanted to be certain. Everything looked clean, so I reinstalled and connected everything. When I started the car to confirm everything was okay, it immediately revved up high, so I shut it off straight away. I checked to see if I’d missed a vacuum hose or something, but everything was connected. On the second attempt, the car ran without the high idle, but I noticed a distinct “compressed air” sound coming from the engine bay. Tracing the sound, I pushed injector #6 forward slightly and the noise stopped — it turned out it wasn’t seated properly, despite the fuel rail being bolted down. While holding it in place, the car idled steadily without stalling and ran for over 5 minutes. At this point, I pulled all six injectors out just in case I hadn’t seated them correctly or dirt had gotten onto the O-rings. Unfortunately, I discovered that I had damaged 3 out of 6 injectors (the OEM 270cc ones) during installation. So yes, this was my fault. Since only the pintle caps were damaged, I’ve ordered a Fuel Injector Service Kit from NZEFI to refurbish them. In the meantime, I reinstalled my new injectors – the car now idles fine for over 15 minutes without stalling. I have not attempted to drive it so far. It’s not perfect yet, as it hesitates when the throttle is pressed, but it’s a big improvement. Unplugging the IACV with the new injectors idles at around 800rpm, even with the IACV screw tightened fully. But this is probably due to tune.
    • I wanted to try and preserve the front bumper as long as possible, they're not cheap and are made to order in Japan. Taking inspiration from my previous K11 Micra build where I made an undertray for the Impul bumper, I did the same for this BN Sports bumper but a little slimmed down.  This time round I only made a 'skid plate' (if that's the correct wording/term) for just the bumper surface area, the Micra version covered the gap like an undertray. Starting off with a sheet of mild steel approx. 0.9mm thick 4ft x 2ft in size. I traced around the bumper, cut it out and cleaned the edges. Luckily I was able to get two halves from one piece of metal In the video I installed it as is, but I've since then I've removed it to spray and add a rubber edging trim. The rubber trim is suitable for 1-2mm and it's a really nice tight fit. The bolts had to be loosened due to the plates being too tight against the bumper, the trim wouldn't push on I used some stainless M6 flat headed bolts for a flusher finish (rather than hex heads poking down), I believe this style fastener is used for furniture too incase you struggle to source some. The corner's are a little wider, but this may be an advantage incase I get close to bumping it  The front grill got some attention, finally getting round to repairing it. Upon removal one fixing pulled itself out of the plastic frame, one side is M8 that fixes inside of the frame, where as the other side is M5. Not knowing I could get replacements, I cut down an M8 bolt, threaded it inside the frame along with a decent amount of JB Weld.  The mesh was replaced to match the bumper. One hole on the bonnet/hood had to be drilled out to 8mm to accommodate the new stud, once the glue had set it could be refitted. I think the reason the grill was double meshed was to hide the horn/bonnet latch (which makes sense) but I much prefer it matching the bumper Bumper refitted and it's looking much better IMO The Youtube video can be seen here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bVZP35io9MA
