OK, my car is an R34 GT and the centre console arragement is completely different to what I want it to be - check the pic below.

Where the CD player is, some people have the A/C controls in their R34, in that place instead. I want to see if anyone knows where I could get that version of the controls from for a good price, because I want to get a Double-Din Headunit for my car because the stock CD player has stopped working again and I am over it!

lve got the same pop up screen in my car and am currently changing it all over to the normal a/c controls and triple gauge.

they dont just swap over as they are different widths.I ordered a new climate control trim cover for the normal type as it appears to use the same module behind from the nissan dealer l work at. lm going to test it tomorrow and l will let you know as it only cost $60 so it looks like a cheaper option.

I will let you know and if it fits l will tel you the part number.

the ac module should be the same ..but the AC fascia is definately different. However the factory radio fascia has a weird angle so you cant just take it out and pop in a 2din stereo. You need to get the double din fascia as well AND also the 2 brackets that hold the entire centre console in there ... I've just been through this conversion, trust me you will need 1) AC fascia, 2) double din stereo fascia 3) the 2 brackets that hold the ac and stereo and the fascias in the centre...

+1 on what on ducki said, and thanks for the heads up in what involved. I really want a better stereo system in my car, and if that means pissing off the screen on the dash and maybe even investing in the triple gauge cluster - for a possible turbo conversion later down the track - then I would like to know the info on what it costs and what I need to get as much as I can.

yeah sure thing, lm doing the same conversion. l will post part numbers and prices on mon night.

I have the a/c fascia part number 25570-AA002 (series 2 trim) cost appox $60-$70

the brackets l wouldnt recommend getting from nissan as they are over $100 each, lm currently trying to get them elsewhere.(but l will get exact price)

l will get the part numbers and prices for the double din trim in both series 1(black) and 2(silver) and gearshift surround if you wanna update to series 2(silver trims).

also the triple guage trim if you want to get rid of screen.

if there is anything else let me know.

I've already ripped out my LCD and replaced it with triple gauges.. Now just need the console section to make it look right since I got the sat nav panel still sitting there doing nothing. Can't remove it cause it'll leave a gap.

i recently did this conversion myself and to do it properly you will need the followng

a/c unit

surround for headunit/din pocket

you will need to replace the metal brackets that go behind

i got the above items out of a r34 gtr, same as gtt. cost me $150 from a wrecker

Good ol' trade job... lol >_<

I've seen a couple of shots of the triple gauges in the thread where poeple have repainted the centre console plastics, and I am definitly wanting the gauges in mine! Even if mine isn't turbo (yet), I still want to see what my engine's doing. When I get them I am painting my console and window controls in silver, as I've seen someone do theirs in silver and it looks awesome...Silver accents the shapes and lines so well and you could get away with murder on it.

    • Absolute f*cking nightmare. I had to take breaks constantly, and I was always pissed off when I got home. The line split in Italy on day 2 (we drove from the Netherlands), lol. Driving any narrow European town was... well, sh*t.   Appreciate it man. Here, I'll just drop a favourite from the load I took on Saturday.   I'll update here when things happen with the car, the thing is, with stock power and almost everything chassis-wise taken care of, there really are no problems. 268,000kms now and counting.
    • Ah! I actually managed to snag a lightly used set.... that aren't so suitable for me right now. They don't work on a GTT without some cutting or creative heat moulding. I thought about reselling them myself cause I didn't want to murder them, but it looks like I'm probably going to attempt to murder them/melt them because I may as well. @GTSBoy @PranK can somebody close this thread?
    • Hey mate,  I have a set, one is slightly damaged but wont be noticable once installed.  Shoot me a message if your still after them
    • I couldn't wait But, the black constant tension hose clamps were too thick and there wasn't enough clearance at the T/B and I couldn't get it to seat properly, so I had use a silver one there I also added some 3" silicone over the alloy bit that goes through to hole on the radiator support as it looked like it was sitting on the edge of the hole in the radiator support, I never noticed a rattle or anything, but there was a witness mark It is basicly done, and I can live with the silver hose clamp at the T/B, I will get a black clamp for the head vent though where it is attached to the bulkhead fitting  It never stops...LOL, only issue now with the shock tower brace is it slightly touches the under bonnet liner now, if I leave it it will either wear some paint off the brace where it touches, or damage the liner, so I removed the liner to see what I have to work with, with the liner removed I have about 20mm of clearance, but sadly the middle part of the underside of the bonnet is only dusted with paint and looks crap, so I cannot have that, but.... as I have a roll of Carbuilders premium under bonnet insulation in the garage laying around that is only 5.5mm thick (we were going to use it on the boys Patrol, but he crashed the front of it a few months and it was written off, hence why he now drives my old Honda Accord Euro), I'll use the OEM liner as a template and get the Carbuilders stuff fitted up to cover that dusted paint up
