My apologies if this has already been posted (please delete if it has), but I thought you guys would want to know.

Luke Fink informed us on nissansilvia.com that Drift Australia competitor, Luke Jacobs, both his parents, local drifter Nathan Charlsworth and another mate were killed in the bushfires in Traralgon. From what I can gather they were all trapped in a car when the fires went through.

Luke was one of the nicest blokes you'd ever meet, and his parents were so supportive of him and his dreams of competing at a national level. My heart goes out to all those affected by this tragedy, and the many others that have occurred over the last couple of days.

RIP to him and his friends and family, very tragic. My g/f's parents just made it through Gormondale before the road was closed and apparently talking last night there have been a high number killed down there and developments in finding the cause but no details have been officially released.

R.I.P to all effected.

My Mum and her partner were ready to defend their property in Thornton, but fortunately the fire was downgraded before it reached them.

Condolences to all who have been tragically killed in this horror day.

As above, RIP, and condolences to all that this tragedy has touched.

It's scary how big the toll is now, and how fast this is all happening!

We personally have some friends who have lost some of their own friends in this, and more are missing.

I'm hoping the cooler change stays around, but we don't want the lightning that seems to have been forecast.

Best wishes out to the CFA, the SES and all the services out helping, I can't imagine what some of them must be going through!

I'm in Sunbury myself, and we've got fires up in Kilmore, about 40kms away, and up in Redesdale, which is about 70kms away. Unfortunately, there's not a lot between the towns, mainly open fields - so we're starting to get nervous!

I was wondering if maybe SAU as a forum might want to look at donating time, clothes, food, shelter, whatever.

I'm going to be looking into it anyway, so if you're interested, PM me, and we'll see what we can organise.

James

I only heard the bad news this morning, I am absolutely speechless... :D

Luke was such a Genuine nice guy & always made time to chat to me at every Drift Australia Round last year, He was very much loved amongst many DA Drivers & even SD drivers including myself who wanted to follow the path he had taken from Super Drift into Drift Australia, Towards the end of last year he even had sponsors jumping onboard noticing the talent he had as a Driver...

He will be sadly missed :(

R.I.P mate

^ sorry mate, just over at ns.com reading about - Jacobs, his parents and Charlzy :P

RIP guys

bring the f*ckers who started this into one of the relief areas, tie 'em up and let the mob rule...

marysville fire is looking to have been deliberately lit - scarier still that the rumours are CFA members were involved :P - hope that's not the case

I found out a few hours again and am still speechless. What a terrible disaster.

Anyone in QLD, we will be doing all we can at our events in the next few weeks to raise money for the survivors and those left with nothing!! Every dollar helps those to rebuild their lives.

You can't replace a life, and his will be missed. RIP

    • A few small updates since the previous post and lessons. I decided to do a little interior light upgrade on the 110. I quite like the iilumo items, even if they're a bit of a premium over other brands. You'll also note the Stedi Fogs, that will go into the S15 fog lights as I needed to match the bulbs since I got the new ones earlier. I hope they fit as the body is quite a bit longer than your normal bulb.  Annoyingly, I managed to trip the fuse, which normally wouldn't be an issue until I located the fuse. I can't say I've ever come across this. I had lucked out that someone nearby had a spare, but oddly enough Toyota dealerships seem to keep this in stock. I ordered some to keep in my stash and as luck would have it, someone else nearby tripped the same fuse so I passed on the favour.  I also did a little service on the 110 ahead of some additional work coming up. It's been annoying that Goleby's stopped carrying this particular HKS filter for the 110, so now I need to keep them on order from Japan. I also took the opportunity to install a bash plate and number plate riser. The plate riser is such a cheap but nice fix to help really tidy up the car. I'm tempted to now also replace my headlights, on this car. Both items were from Project Aero.    I also needed to replace the rear tyres on the 110, and after trying to get it aligned learnt that I need to replace some bushes in the front end, so that's next.  Closing out this update with a nicer picture as always!
    • Yeah mate, never miss it.
    • Any going to watch World Time Attack at SMSP this year?
    • Appreciate the correction on the "ground", that will make a huge difference to looking at this. That makes complete sense about AF70/AF71 which is what I had come down to being the issue, one of these. I'll have another look in the ignition wiring when I get a chance next week. I'll also make up a jumper wire for running that AF73 test.  ECU is fine, relay itself is fine, pump harness is fine and the pump itself is fine. I am going to upgrade the Walbro 255 anyway with a DW300 I have since I need to replace the fuel sender and I'm going to upgrade the FPR with my chasebays kit ready for new plenum/injectors/dbw, but I'll get this working first. That's why this is so frustrating.
