im buying a new car very soon, and there's a few R32 GTS-4's around, which go for roughly the same price as an R33 GTS-T.

i dont know which to choose...the GTS-4 im sure would have wicked handling with 4WD and 4WS, but are an older car than the R33.

being a 4WD, it has more drive shafts, i look it as more things that can have problems, same with the 4WS, but im not sure, i dont know heaps about skylines, even though im sure they are all put together well, so im asking, what do you guys reckon would be best?

1990 - 1992 R32 GTS-4 or 1993 - 1995 R33 GTS-t???

Any opinions would be great.

Depends on what your after from the motor as well. RB20DET vs RB25DET, and you really dont wanna get into that debate.

Just be aware that the R32 GTS-4 weighs a fair bit more than the normal GTSt R32. If you have any problems with 4WS its easy enough to install a lock kit for a few hundred dollars and immediately be rid of any issues.

For risk of offending many GTS-4 owners on here, id either go with an R32 GTSt or R33 GTSt... both great fun cars. Just depends on what styling and powerplant you prefer.

We have an R32 GTS4 and an R33 GTST in our family and I can tell you now that the R32 has bugger all torque. You'll find you're always flogging the piss out of it just to get some decent performance. The SR20 has more torque......go figure.

The 4WD is fun none the less.

depends what u want, ive always loved the way a r32 looks, age dosnt really mean much. and like if u want 4wd then yer get a gts-4 but if its not that important, then your choice should be between an r32 gtst and r33 gtst. and just remember r32's still have all power options and are a comfortable ride etc :(

    • Dose will be able to confirm this more, but a 1.5 way IS a 2 way. It's just not as aggressive on one of the ramps. Changing from 2 to 1.5 I'm not sure how though.
    • No updates on the car but figured I'd share a nice outing. All the recent work paid off and I got it all together and out the shed for a car based pre-wedding celebration for a good mate of mine. Pretty casual cruise through the hills to a pub for lunch then out for some go-karting at The Bend. Headed down to Myponga for the night We stopped in at the reservoir before heading out down to the coast for lunch via the dam  By the end of the weekend away I covered 350km and the 32 generally behaved its self. A good Shake down after being apart before the Track day in a few weeks
    • The front prop shaft from my GTR had very notchy unis, which obviously needed replacement but unfortunately uses the (usually) non-replaceable (staked) type.     A new shaft is something like $2K plus shipping from Japan.   I wouldn't even bother asking the local Nissan spares dept.     Rang Hardy Spicer but no go, which surprised me a little.     There's a place over Dandenong way that would make me a 'performance' shaft but un-necessary in my situation.   They claimed to be getting the equipment in to replace staked unis but couldn't give me a timeframe.   Anyway, long story short, found a place to do the work just 5 mins from me: https://knoxdriveshafts.com.au $420 (cash) and about a week later I have my driveshaft back.   Price includes balancing. Owner is a one man band working out of a shed in his backyard but from what I could see he's very well setup with some expensive equipment.
    • Thanks. That's what I was after. One of the kits, the o-ring side is too big diameter. The other kit is a plate with a o-ring to seal and the hose connection offset.
