Hey Guys,

ok, i want to get the facts straight here..... half of the people tell me i cant do this, then the other half tell me not to listen and say i can do it.....

instead of ordering a new facia kit, one installer has told me he can cut out the existing bose system and make enough room for the double dinn.....

whats the go??

find another installer!

The easiest way is to get the correct panel and the correct AC controller and a pocket if you need one. the rest - bracket and top pocket/screen will carry over. if you like I can post images of the rear circuit board that covers the ENTIRE panel to prove otherwise. I will add to that the radio powers that panel.

you can do it yourself. But you just have to be patience with all the panel it needed to be removed. It'll take nearly 2 hours for me to install it myself.

But if you don't have the time then ask an installer to install it for you.

DON'T cut out the existing bose. It'll make it look stupid and your AC controller won't work.

You have no choice to get the Genuine Facia or get the Metra kit from USA, which fit nicer, but crappier AC buttons and cheaper too.

cheers

also - bose or non bose radio. if bose and you do not wist to remove the amplifer then you will also need the leads for that.

when you are ready flick me a PM. I keep most of this on hand.

essentially this is the main part you will need plus the leads and also a/c controller I believe

at 11,600 yen from Japanparts.com excluding shipping, including other parts and labour is where the $600-700 comes from.

you paint it. OR you get the correct colour one. I paint mine.

as for your solution.

AC controller, panel, bose interface leads. all up a $900 exercise.

want it - ask.

Hello Guys...

Aeropro I believe sell this facia kit also. Has anyone been able to install the aerpro kit as per below?

I approached Autobarn to see if I can get one ordered in...costs about $500 and I believe it will retain the functionality of the A/C, however I haven't had the chance to get one yet as I am still deciding on what headunit/stereo setup I want.

how to get the OEM double din kit? Chris, do u hv stock?

I just got my car.. dont like the audio... Can we connect aftermarket headunit to the original bose speaker and amp? Is what Chris said: "AC controller, panel, bose interface leads. all up a $900 exercise," the option tat i m looking for?

Thanks for this great forum... so much helpful people around~

I do have stock - want?

if so EXACT spec of your car. IE: A/C control, navi, bose?

actually fire me a chassis number. I'll do it that way.

here is it located? i can find vin, engine... but where is chassis?

will ask tomolo and pm u then~ Your $900 including install or??

VIN will do. take a photo of your drivers strut tower. the build plate is there and it will give me all I need.

$900 would cover the bits to make all of this work. you are not in brissy are you? (I travel but only if I haev 3-4 things to do in a city.) cost could well change based on the spec of your car (could be lower.)

I am in melb... *^@#$^&%

Will check the numbers tomolo, and pm u..

    • Which solenoid? Why was it changed? Again, why was this done? ...well, these wear..but ultimately, why was it changed? Did you reset the idle voltage level after fitment? I'm just a tad confused ~ the flash code doesn't allude to these items being faulty, so in my mind the only reason to change these things, would be some drive-ability issue....and if that's the case, what was the problem? Those questions aside, check if the dropping resistor is OK ...should be 11~14 ohms (TCU doesn't throw a flash code for this) ~ also, these TCU designs have full time power (to keep fault code RAM alive), and I think that'll throw a logic code (as opposed to the 10 hardware codes), if that power is missing (or the ram has gone bad in the TCU, which you can check..but that's another story here perhaps).
    • Question for people who "know stuff" I am looking at doing the new intake like the one in the picture (the pictured is designed for the OEM TB and intake plenum), this design has the filter behind the front bar, but, the filter sits where the OEM duct heads into the front bar, and the standard aperture when the OEM ducting is removed allows the filter to pulled back out of the front bar into the engine bay for servicing, a simple blanking plate is used to seal the aperture behind the filter This will require a 45° silicone hose from the TB, like the alloy pipe that is currently there, to another 45° silicone hose to get a straight run to the aperture in the front bar Question: how will it effect the tune if I move the MAF about 100-150mm forward, the red is around where my MAF is currently, and the green would be where it would end up Like this This is the hole the filter goes through  Ends up like this LOL..Cheers
    • Despite the level up question, actually I do know what that is....it is a pressure sender wire.  So check out around the oil filter for an oil pressure sender, or maybe fuel pressure near the filter or on the engine. Possibly but less likely coolant pressure sensor because they tend to be combined temp/pressure senders if you have one. Could also be brake pressure (in a brake line somewhere pre ABS) but maybe I'm the only one that has that on a skyline.
    • Pull codes via the self-diagnosis procedure. As far as I can tell this is just a sign of transmission issues but not a code unto itself.
    • Hi All, putting the engine back together and everything is perfect except have this plug left over.. any ideas what it is for and where it goes? Is on cold side under the intake plenum *note not a stock plug, as everything has been modified Cheers
