Just some pics of my car having it's front and rear bumpers repaired and painted...without the use of a pressure pack this time!..lol!

Don't Jap's have any panel shops over there; they seem to do disgusting repairs!!...(from my current and past experiences).

Hopefully pick her up today, with the front number plate re-mounted, so it looks nicer.

The guys at Ultra-Fine (Moorabbin) seem to be doing a fine job, as always.

But they killed my brand new battery.....the 'magic-eye' is saying 'Don't Re-charge'....!..(why did I mention that?) :)

Anyways...have a great day people.....stay away from f**kwits, they'll only ruin it for you. (not reffering to these guys!) :)

Cheers!

Why do panel shops always kill batteries!!???? Pisses me off as it happened to me too when I had one of my previous cars in the panel shop. Don't they learn from their mistakes...

Nice work Superspit, I'm dreading having to leave mine at the panel shop in the next couple of weeks coz some idiot woman ran into me from behind. Wasn't major only a bit of scratching, but gives me a good reason now to respray the whole bumper.

what was wrong with your front and rear bars? i could not see anything wrong with them from the previous pics u posted up

Hi 180..

yeah..I guess the old pics do it some justice..for once!..lol!

They were actually quite shabby...and in the sunlight they showed different shades!...quite embarrassing! (I know I know!)

Japs have poor panel beaters..or they appear to be all based on press packs!

I like the fact that the guy who sold me the car said it was 'crash free'...and I've seen that for myself now....!

Hey Niz......Thanx buddy...

sorry to hear about yo shit bro...hope it all works out nice..I'm sure it will!

good question....my little old Silvia got the same deal, some years back!

I think I have learnt my lesson...remove/disconnect the battery prior to this type of basic work!..they just push the car around the workshop anyway!.(No crash-test-dummy Driving by the staff allowed!)..lol!

I think they just silenced the alarm (when it went off) with the small auxiliary key, but didn't realise that the alarm actually keeps going....either that or they watched DVD porn in the car all nite.

Either way..my new battery is faaarked..completely (dead shorted!)....got a replacement one tonite, under warranty....the panel beater said he'd get me a new one if that didn't work out.

I really believe, that in life.....SOMEONE ELSE IS ALWAYS GOING TO f**k IT UP FOR YOU!...LOL!

I'll post up the pics of it finished.....well almost anyway...I get her tmrw!..(I told the panel Beater that I will install the new-new battery myself, and to have that 10 mm spanner ready for me!)...he said "cool cool".

Oh yeah....can I just say.........

V35 front and rear bumpers take up a huge amount of 'real-estate' on our vehicles.....unless they're clean and un-scratched the whole car seems to come down a grade or two.....but that's just my own thoughts!

Pics taken tonite.....for your perusal!..lol!

I think a fresh bumper speak volumes for itself.

It really has changed the look of the car, and has made me very happy.

NOW WATCH SOME MOTHERFARKER IN A COMMODORE f**k IT ALL UP!.....lol!!

Hey nice work on the bumper, just wondering if you'd ever consider getting a car bra, have played on the idea of doing so due to stone chips on the front bar. Curious to know if any guys have thought about it as well or have one for that matter...or maybe group buy if enough people interested?

I was thinking something like this would help

http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/Infiniti-G3...sQ5fAccessories

My front bumper is now riddled with stone chips, will prob get it resprayed soon when the rear bumper gets done courtesy of insurance.

Hi Robbo...

I've thought about it in the past, and again when I see them out on the road......

But don't you think they prolly cause more damage (to paint) than protection?

I figure that when my car bumpers start to look a little trashy, I'll get the paint

....just my way of thinking....not necessarily the best! :)

Thanks for the compliments man, rock-on! :)

Understand where your coming from with how it may rub and cause a bit of chaffing on the paint, i'd personally rather it did that as opposed to getting stone chips as some have a tendency to cause the bar to fracture. Also consider that it goes under the front lip and will add extra padding in case of speed bump scrapes or steep driveways.

Just how I see how it may help, am keen to see if anyone on this forum has one and their opinion.

Cheers.

Yo Superspit,

Just wondering how much did you end up spending on your re spray? (just the rear bumper) Im actually planning to get my rear bumper re-sprayed soon as aswell..

and oh..the dealer re-sprayed my front bumper couple of weeks ago..when i got the car back, the car was full of Paint Dust, fark me dead was the worse surface feel of the car ever... and im still claying it myself. Detailer will be treating the car in 2 weeks. ill post some pics after..

Peace,

superspit, where and how much for respray? i am looking for one too.. cost $300, seems like good price to me..

Hi Dan and 007...thanks for your interest!!...

I'm still wrapped with the job..like I said earlier, these bumpers take up alot of 'real-estate', so a good looking set of BB's is pretty much a must in my book....(oh that, and nice full tint!)

UltraFine Bodyworks in Moorabbin, Melbourne..(Nick)...he's always done my imports, never an issue.....$600 + $60GSTurds....being for both bar-units removed from the vehicle and refinished ..(full removal is a must with these cars, else paint lines and other mismatches will be yours to rue....!!)

Thanks again for allowing my input......Got your Rudd cheque yet boys?....already spent it maybe.....?

I'll get me one of them Kevin37 LCD TV's......now that's High definition stimulus!

    • Even with no BOV you will have issues unless the MAF is a hot film type like the R35 which has some design features to deal with reversion. Hot wire MAFs are very sensitive.
    • So i just change the (whatever is inside ma original MAF and slide the R34 MAF (it is gonna fit right in? ) and somewhere on the hot side a BoV...i presume that would be vented to the atmo? I just "trying" to understand...maybe my mechanic would know this   I would not mind(even prefer) to run stock BoV cuz it is way more than fine but i do not have that and only pipeing what is left is oem J pipe ... I will be running Blitz fmic(to fit oem one side style) and i gonna need custom pipes cuz i do not have rest of those pipes and hoses... But i am want standalone ECU. Only choice i have atm is Nistune...but that is not gonna cut it right?I dont know what Nistune can and cant do... I know you guys know Link and Haltech...but whatabout ECUmaster? I know guys in here run those but i literally do not know about that and do not know differences... Just know to take whatever "my" tuner can work on.

    • Update 2: Today I'm f**king pissed. Some of you probably saw my thread that I opened shortly after joining this forum, "urgently need expert/experienced opinion", in which I discussed the possibility of a porous RB26 engine block which I also found hard to believe. Currently both turbos are out since the shitty braided line that was installed by whoever fitted the GT28 turbos leaked oil onto the exhaust. Today while working on the cam covers to put new gaskets and half moons in, I cleaned the side of the engine block with brake cleaner. Some time later I saw that it was still glistening with oil or coolant so I dried that off. But it was wet again shortly after. Verdict: I'm royally screwed. What you can see here (hopefully, despite shit resolution), circled in red, is a crack above the turbo oil feed. Extent is a few cm long and basically goes from #3 cylinder wall to #4 cylinder wall. It slowly lets coolant through, even without any pressure behind it. I am absolutely dumbfounded as to how this crack even formed, especially since it isn't along the cylinder as it usually is but rather a horizontal crack. Probably a few cm in length. Not sure on how to deal with this issue right now. Most likely, the only true fix is a new engine block, and even a relatively well done temporary fix requires at least a full engine teardown. Neither of those really fit my timetable right now, the car has been in my buddy's garage long enough as it is. I'm open to suggestions, but I'll be looking into ordering a new 05U block soon so I have one ready for the coming year, or whenever the current block inevitably fails fully. (Most likely once the crack reaches one of the frost plugs) I think it'd be a waste of money and time to rebuild the engine with this block. Oh and I found a rust hole on the side pocket of the trunk, which someone covered up with sealant goop, a piece of number plate and bodywork filler. Fun times. So far for every issue we fix we just find a new one that is arguably worse.
    • I have not found this no. I put one back on a couple days ago with no drama. I agree they are tight, but no need to remove anything.
