Hey Everyone,

On Saturday night around 2am someone decided they were going to try and steal my GTR, fortunately I had an Alarm system so they bolted but it is aside the point.

As most of you are probably aware this is the second time in a few months that someone has tried to steal my cars and several months before that it happened as well so this is the Third time someone has tried to pinch my cars

I am sharing this with all of you so if you HAVEN'T got an alarm system, go buy one, it could save your car or the property inside of it that you don't want stolen!!!

If you see any kids roaming the streets late at night, just call security / police and get them to patrol the area, they might not be up to anything dodgy but you can never be too sure, they could be the culprits!!!

Also - when driving in Atwell, DON'T be a dickhead and fang it up the streets (i.e. Tapper Road). The cops have actually rocked up to my house several times lately (the neighbours are obviously getting annoyed) and have not only confronted me and asked me where I have been and whether my car was still hot or not but they have also been monitoring my driving trips to the extent of, When I leave for work, when I get home from work and the route I take. I would hate to see anyone get pinged in an off chance that someone has complained about a similar car to yours and the cops but their finger on you.

Oh and one final thing, FYI - there are over 30 police officers living in Atwell so I don't think you'd want to piss them off either!

I think that's all I had to say!

Cheers

-jess

Do you have a shed or undercover area that you could store you car in or is it parked on your driveway?

Nah its kept in the Carport! I think I'll have to start parking my Astra in front of it again, but that's such an inconvenience so move it there every night and then move it again in the morning.

If it saves a GTR being stolen then I personally wouldn't see it as an inconvenience :D You haven't had the car that long either, so protect it at all costs.... someone is watching your place

ah so your one of the hoons they mentioned they are following on the news? unlucky to be labelled like that

Yeah but I don't know why I'm being followed hey... its weird. I mean yeah, who doesn't give their car shit and as for Tapper Road that I mentioned, every single car speeds down that street at over 30kms over the limit so I think you'd have to be pretty unlucky to get fined there!

Damnit I'm not a hoon!!! (well only in industrial open areas.... hahaha kidding!)

Invest in a keypad immobiliser alarm system, and have it hidden from view. That's what I had in my GTR. Even if theives broke in and took your keys, they won't be moving very far. The keypad was attached to my fuel pump, so you could start the car but it would stall a couple seconds later.

When you do own performance cars such as GTRs, HSVs etc you really do need to put them in a locked up garage. I would never own a performance car if I knew I couldn't secure it properly.

Jess, I would also tell the cops sfa about what you do, where you have been, other personal infomation etc Goes for anyone else here. Tell them to **** off and send you a summons if they want to start charging you with something.

If they've been trying to steal the GTR 3 times already with no luck, think they'll think smarter and go thru the house next time and look for the keys.

best to just chuck the GTR undercover and keep the Astra outside.

too many nice cars are getting stolen these days.

Subaru WRX with license plate got stolen with plates [KEKEKE], was pure luck someone found it at the traino.

Jess, that sound bad. Parking the daily in behind the Line sounds like a start. Up grade the alarm sounds like a plan...but also make sure your insurance is paid up. This Police harassment makes me think someone has put you on "the hoon list". If you can carry off the stand up citizen role go and have a word with the duty sergeant and give him WTF? No threats but more of the hey I'm a good person cut me a break would you.

Failing that move to an area with less cops lol

+1 for keypad alarm, my bro had that in his old STI, keys are useless without the pin. If I had to park mine outside/not in a garage I'd want the same thing.

JOONDALUP, yes i live next to the police academy, but there are Nerver police in Joondalup, its all show. :D

They don't even have their police station running because of that fire attack :(

JOONDALUP, yes i live next to the police academy, but there are Nerver police in Joondalup, its all show. :(

lol there are a few, they drive unmarked ford territories and ve's, but the area is usually patrolled by security, they all sit down at neil hawkins park and eat donuts waiting for idiots from gbt and dirty dusk to make trouble :D

man seems like atwell just keeps getting dodgier and dodgier? lol my car got mega keyd when i parked it outside a primary school there came back kids were gone car was keyd :? so yeah def dodgy area i guess but theres a fair bit of lines over at atwell danno prob unlucky but sky ryan parks his car ouside and never gets any trouble?

    • Thanks for that, I'll check it all out. I can always do the brakes last anyway if its a problem.  The 16's are super cool, if they do fit I'll cruise around with them for a bit.
    • Well, that's kinda the point. The calipers might interfere with the inside of the barrels 16" rims are only about 14" inside the barrels, which is ~350mm, and 334mm rotors only leave about 8mm outboard for the caliper before you get to 350, And.... that;s not gunna be enough. If the rims have a larger ID than that, you might sneak it in. I'd be putting a measuring stick inside the wheel and eyeballing the extra required for the caliper outboard of the rotor before committing to bolting it all on.
    • OK, so again it has been a bit of a break but it was around researching what had been done since I didn't have access to Neil's records and not everything is obvious without pulling stuff apart. Happily the guy who assembled the engine had kept reasonable records, so we now know the final spec is: Bottom end: Standard block and crank Ross 86.5mm forgies, 9:1 compression Spool forged rods Standard main bolts Oil pump Spool billet gears in standard housing Aeroflow extended and baffled sump Head Freshly rebuilt standard head with new 80lb valve springs Mild porting/port match Head oil feed restrictor VCT disabled Tighe 805C reground cams (255 duration, 8.93 lift)  Adjustable cam gears on inlet/exhaust Standard head bolts, gasket not confirmed but assumed MLS External 555cc Nismo injectors Z32 AFM Bosch 023 Intank fuel pump Garret 2871 (factory housings and manifold) Hypertune FFP plenum with standard throttle   Time to book in a trip to Unigroup
    • I forgot about my shiny new plates!
    • Well, apparently they do fit, however this wont be a problem if not because the car will be stationary while i do the suspension work. I was just going to use the 16's to roll the old girl around if I needed to. I just need to get the E90 back on the road first. Yes! I'm a believer! 🙌 So, I contacted them because the site kinda sucks and I was really confused about what I'd need. They put together a package for me and because I was spraying all the seat surfaces and not doing spot fixes I decided not to send them a headrest to colour match, I just used their colour on file (and it was spot on).  I got some heavy duty cleaner, 1L of colour, a small bottle of dye hardener and a small bottle of the dye top coat. I also got a spray gun as I needed a larger nozzle than the gun I had and it was only $40 extra. From memory the total was ~$450 ish. Its not cheap but the result is awesome. They did add repair bits and pieces to the quote originally and the cost came down significantly when I said I didn't need any repair products. I did it over a weekend. The only issues I had were my own; I forgot to mix the hardener into the dye two coats but I had enough dye for 2 more coats with the hardener. I also just used up all the dye because why not and i rushed the last coat which gave me some runs. Thankfully the runs are under the headrests. The gun pattern wasn't great, very round and would have been better if it was a line. It made it a little tricky to get consistent coverage and I think having done the extra coats probably helped conceal any coverage issues. I contacted them again a few months later so I could get our X5 done (who the f**k thought white leather was a good idea for a family car?!) and they said they had some training to do in Sydney and I could get a reduced rate on the leather fix in the X5 if I let them demo their product on our car. So I agreed. When I took Bec in the E39 to pick it up, I showed them the job I'd done in my car and they were all (students included) really impressed. Note that they said the runs I created could be fixed easily at the time with a brush or an air compressor gun. So, now with the two cars done I can absolutely recommend Colourlock.  I'll take pics of both interiors and create a new thread.
