hey everyone, im from SA but i really need som help tracking down a member of this forum, his name is Josh Martin (180sxdrifterj).

im trying to find him because i bought a car from him recently and never recieved it. he has since changed his numbers and i cant find him. i really need to get some personal details as i am going to the police. I know i am mostly to blame in this incident as i put my trust in someone i didnt really know but please spare me the hacks, this has caused me enough grief already. He used to own a R32 gtst and a onevia and i think he was on here fairly frequently.

any info you can give will be hugely appreciated and if anyones been through this before and can give me some advice that will also help.

cheers, Nick.

Well I'm just interested how you buy a car, and you don't actually get it?

Generally people hand over cheque/cash as they pick up the car...

And you saying you put 'trust' in someone certainly sounds like a blind EFT... like so many before you.

This is just a larger scale of loss, same theme though unfortunately

because i live in another state, i spoke to him for a while, got all his bank details, work numbers and phone numbers. and he generally seemed like a very trust worthy person, but of course he wasnt and im still kicking myself everyday about it, its only 5grand but im a student and it was all my money.

he has sinced cancelled his numbers, stopped replying to any emails, and even changed jobs so i really dont know what to do, I'm sick of this playing on the back of my mind everyday so im taking a long shot and hoping someone will help me out. trust me i know now it was an incredibly stupid thing to do and i am pretty embarrassed about the whole ordeal so sorry if i snapped but ive already beat myself up enough about this.

as another incentive anyone who helps me to tracking him down and getting my money back will get a $1000reward (if i manage to get my cash back).

The way i see it

You have his name ,Bank details, place of work, phone number .

Give this info to the police and they will find him in about a hour. Problem solved.

Unless you are looking for him for a totaly different reason and you cant go to the police .

You cant just pop in here and ask for peoples details..

i have numbers that are no longer connected and his old works number, i figured the police would say it wasnt enough i was just hoping to get a working number and go straight to the cops with it before he changes it again. im telling the %100 truth here, im not a drug dealer or hit man, wouldnt mind hitting him though trust me.

Integrity much?

The highest you'll find.

Think about it for a second and then tell me im wrong.

How do you know ANY of the above it true?

You don't. Assumptions offer nothing, proof is everything. We don't give out ANY personal details easily, without solid evidence.

So if you have proof - follow correct channels via police and so on.

Handing out someone's details over the internet above what you can "google" isn't something i would expect a "mate" to do at all.

try some of the people in that thread, they may have bought it and picked it up.

And another

And another with some one who seems to know him, you need to do more leg work if you really want your money back.

cheers man i look into it. nismoid if you know something and dont wanna tell me cos u dont trust me thats fair enough, but PM me cos id be willing to forward you emails as proof, ive still got them all saved, could also scan up deposit reciepts etc.

I was just pointing out the silly integrity comment mainly is unfounded, and wrong.

I honestly know nothing, and i wont give out his details until the Police contact, im happy to deal with them, i have many times before

    • The oil pressure sensor for logging, does it happen to be the one that was slowly breaking out of the oil block? If it is,I would be ignoring your logs. You had a leak at the sensor which would mean it can't read accurately. It's a small hole at the sensor, and you had a small hole just before it, meaning you could have lost significant pressure reading.   As for brakes, if it's just fluid getting old, you won't necessarily end up with air sitting in the line. Bleed a shit tonne of fluid through so you effectively replace it and go again. Oh and, pay close attention to the pressure gauge while on track!
    • I don't know it is due to that. It could just be due to load on track being more than a dyno. But it would be nice to rule it out. We're talking a fraction of a second of pulling ~1 degree of timing. So it's not a lot, but I'd rather it be 0... Thicker oil isn't really a "bandaid" if it's oil that is going to run at 125C, is it? It will be thicker at 100 and thus at 125, where the 40 weight may not be as thick as one may like for that use. I already have a big pump that has been ported. They (They in this instance being the guy that built my heads) port them so they flow more at lower RPM but have a bypass spring that I believe is ~70psi. I have seen 70psi of oil pressure up top in the past, before I knew I had this leak. I have a 25 row oil cooler that takes up all the space in the driver side guard. It is interesting that GM themselves recommend 0-30 oil for their Vette applications. Unless you take it to the track where the official word is to put 20-50w oil in there, then take that back out after your track day is done and return to 0-30.
    • Nice, looks great. Nice work getting the factory parts also. Never know when you'll need them.
    • Thanks @jtha7 I will have a look around tomorrow but it is a prick of a spot. These are some photos i tried taking
    • I take it that the knock retard is from bearings tapping a little tune? Thicker oil is a fragile bandaid. You need a much bigger oil cooler and probably the bigger pump being discussed.
