adznight
I don't know about a "hoon database" but the police certainly black flag your plates. foznice
If there is a hoon hotline there would surely be some kind of list or database to record the data and reports in? Whether that's directly conntected to the police records or not is another matter I suppose. KezR33
similar to what your talking about....this is a public online based one.http://www.ratetheplate.com.au/ Heh, the main "dobber" on that website averages over 16 "dobs" a day. Reckon he just drives around with a note pad and pen looking for the slightest misdemeanor? Chump probably thinks he deserves a medal or something. EeLeYe
I too am interested if this list really exists as my car is also supposedly on the system. Here is my totally awesome story... I was driving behind a taxi in the right lane on King st one night. This idiot taxi driver not only drove at 30kph in a 50 zone, but he kept pressing his brakes at every U-turn section (I thought he would eventually make a turn - he didn't); so at the next set of lights I decided to jump on the left side and overtake him... Up ahead, there was another car double parked in my lane so this meant I had to get in front of this taxi. I figured he drives slow so I don't have to punt it too hard when the lights go green. After they changed, I take off and this taxi driver (out of the blue) decides to actually put his foot down. I thought, "f**k this, he's not getting in front again" so I plant it, get safely ahead (without going over 60 as it was now a 60 zone), chuck my right indicator on and make the transition into the right lane. Next thing I know, cops are behind me with their lights on. I pull over and after a bit of a pep talk, I am told that my car is on the "hoon" database for drag-racing and will remain on it for 12 months. I didn't argue as they hadn't given me a fine... EeLeYe
Actually, I just checked my car's plate on that hoon database website and it says that my car has a clean record. Does this mean that the police record is a separate database from this one? trel
that site has no relation to the police, i wonder if the government has any idea of that site. its bullshit, whats to say i can't put someones plates up that i know for a stir. same as the hoon hotline. this is going too far these days.... gdogzgtr
I will upset a few of my colleagues but there is NO "Hoon" list or Black flagging number plates. What we can do is a Field Contact on a Car and that would register everytime the car is checked. If someone could be bothered doing that as it takes about 15 minutes of paperwork then your car would be linked to the behaviour you were doing at the time you were intercepted. This is mainly done for crooks hanging around certain area's, people somking marijuana in their car etc. I don't know wnyone that has done one for driving matters but I guess it could be done if ongoing "hoon" behaviours at certain location/times and you are checked there. Hope this helps. Link to comment https://www.sau.com.au/forums/topic/259819-is-there-such-thing-as-a-hoon-database/page/2/#findComment-4465943 Share on other sites
llama_au
Could you confirm what the police do with photos they take of your car? Is it evidence to support claims of parts being on a car when they issue a defect notice and fine? PS. this doesn't relate to me. gdogzgtr
If the photo's were of engine bay etc and NOU/Fine issued for same then yes the photographs would have been taken for evidence. That's the only reason we would take photo's. llama_au
I've been in cars when they've been defected and they've had photos taken of various parts on their car. I wasn't fined or defected, but photos were taken of my engine bay going back along time ago by a police officer. I always wondered what exactly they planned to use them for. I recall an officer making a point of saying to me that he knows i'd been pulled over twice already that week (which i had been)... maybe he was guessing? gdogzgtr
Our records show when your vehicle was checked and by whom. It doesn't say as to the reason for it being checked. Once we check your D/L it will show driving history for example charges, fines demerit points etc doesn't go into much detail though just the basic fine/charge not the circumstances or anything like that. Hope that helps Link to comment https://www.sau.com.au/forums/topic/259819-is-there-such-thing-as-a-hoon-database/page/2/#findComment-4469902 Share on other sites

DRFTAE86
You reckon if i was.... Speeding excessively in my defective or dangerous vehicle with my fog lights on while there was no fog or rain at the same time continuing to talk on my mobile phone when tailgating another driver whilst not indicating when changing lanes incorrectly throughout which time i was driving erratically just before i parked illegally in front of 'Uralla9'...... he would have a heart attack and die?
