This looks like its gonna' be really succesful.

Lemme' clarify something before i screw up ..

Is this cruise R34s Only .

Or Show / Cruise is based upon the R34 Anniversary .. and we can have non-r34 spectators tag along ?

The R32 GTRs and R33 GTRs are due for their 21st and 15th Anniversary Celebrations next year.

The Participants for this year's Charity Cruise to Mt Wilson and prizes will be R34 GTRs in group #1 and R34 GTTs/GTs in group #2.

mxfly's whole idea is to Celebrate The Car's (R34 GTR) 10th Anniversary and go National with it...

(rather than have a local area cruise with all involved).

In other words, the parameters are changed to involve 3 Cruises. And consider this to be the 1st of 3!!! The emphasis is the Celebration!

This whole idea of mxfly's has grabbed the attention of Jason at High Performance Imports. Many thanks to Jason whilst he's offered a couple of his own suggestions.

There is absolutely no reason why other SAUers can't tag along Vicky. That's why it's great to live in Australia = a free country!

Many Thanks for offering to help as this may depend on whether or not a whole lot more are part of group #2.

Cheers,

Terry

bakes its about 2 hour drive, give or take.. Ill be heading down, so we could do a pre meet somewhere on the coast or something

Can we get a IN and OUT list.. recon it will be a massive list!

How far is the end point from P6 in hours?

Just trying to work out how big of a day it would be if I came, coming from Newcastle.

Hiya Bakes!

If I was coming from Newcastle, I'd be thinking of 2 options...

i) Newcastle > Homebush P6 leave 10am sharp > Richmond 45mins > Mt Wilson 55mins and then the photoshoot at Noon or

ii) Newcastle > Windsor > Richmond > Mt Wilson 55mins + photoshoot.

It'll be good to have you along. Black is beautiful.

Cheers, Tez

Thanks for the great response SAU members!

Terry, I will speak to Raf about leading/organising the convoy of 33s and 32s.

Cheers

Cool!

Thanks on behalf of Eugene and I~ Raf's a great guy

Yes we intend to compile a list of all participating as we need to know the general numbers for organising other things like food, etc.

But since I can edit the first post, I might decide to open another thread with all that are definites.

Bah sorry guys, I was hoping I'd be able to bring the N1 over, but it's a tragic date clash with All Japan Day here in SA (I'm one of the organisers, so I can really bail on it!). Bugger.

So sad 'K'. Would have enjoyed meeting you just as much as the N1!

...but just in case I can relocate an aftershock earthquake from Gippsland to SA, what are the exact GPS Co-ordinates of the All Japan Day site?

(Really - enjoy your big day out and we'll compare notes later) Tez

    • Yeah, it's getting like that, my daughter is coming over on Thursday to help me remove the bonnet so I can install the Carbuilders underbonnet stuff,  I might get her to give me a hand and remove the hardtop, maybe, because on really hot days the detachable hardtop helps the aircon keep the interior cool, the heat just punches straight through to rag top I also don't have enough hair for the "wind in the hair" experience, so there is that....LOL
    • Could be falling edge/rising edge is set wrong. Are you getting sync errors?
    • On BMWs what I do because I'm more confident that I can't instantly crush the pinch welds and do thousands of USD in chassis damage is use a set of rubber jacking pads designed to protect the chassis/plastic adapter and raise a corner of the car, place the aforementioned 2x12 inch wooden planks under a tire, drop the car, then this normally gives me enough clearance to get to the front central jack point. If you don't need it to be a ramp it only needs to be 1-1.5 feet long. On my R33 I do not trust the pinch welds to tolerate any of this so I drive up on the ramps. Before then when I had to get a new floor jack that no longer cleared the front lip I removed it to get enough clearance to put the jack under it. Once you're on the ramps once you simply never let the car down to the ground. It lives on the ramps or on jack stands.
    • Nah. You need 2x taps for anything that you cannot pass the tap all the way through. And even then, there's a point in response to the above which I will come back to. The 2x taps are 1x tapered for starting, and 1x plug tap for working to the bottom of blind holes. That block's port is effectively a blind hole from the perspective of the tap. The tapered tap/tapered thread response. You don't ever leave a female hole tapered. They are supposed to be parallel, hence the wide section of a tapered tap being parallel, the existince of plug taps, etc. The male is tapered so that it will eventually get too fat for the female thread, and yes, there is some risk if the tapped length of the female hole doesn't offer enough threads, that it will not lock up very nicely. But you can always buzz off the extra length on the male thread, and the tape is very good at adding bulk to the joint.
    • Nice....looking forward to that update
