A friend of a friend firmly beleives that his stock F6 Typhoon John Bowe edt. can go faster than my modded R32 GTR.

I have not said that I am faster until I can get my facts right plus some expert SAU opinions to back it up.

His F6 according to him has 320kw (not sure if this is atw or not).

My GTR is 246Kw at all four wheels (I can switch to rwd for more kw's)

Mods are:

N1 Nismo Turbo's

Apexi PFC

Sard 600cc injectors

HKS Exaust, piping and frontmount

And of coarse a boost controller (safe limit 1.5 bar)

I'm trying to get him to meet me at the creek but he is not interested yet. So theoretically - what do you guys think?

Hmm...

well i mean the 32 is lighter with AWD...and the falcon is heavier with RWD.

so i mean traction...depending on the drivers control..is gonna fail..

top end tho he may get the better of you, off the mark you'd probably have him though

Pfffft to theoretically

Just get him to man up and goto WSID - $50.00 and winner will be decided.

A winner cant be judged on paper........that is all, lock thread.

Just wanted to highlight some issues in your thread. Aside from the clear spelling mistakes, this seems to me to be a clear pissing in the wind competition. Thats what I theoretically think anyway.....

Go to WISD and have a few runs. Then do what I did. Rub the time slip in all your mates faces until they can prove to you that they have a timeslip for their car that is quicker.

Simple. Until he comes back with a timeslip that is quicker than yours, you are quicker with proof.

BTW - it's "beat" not "beet"

lulz

So now that you have an "expert SAU opinion" and some facts. Go prove that you are faster.

Aww..

i had no idea you felt that way about me jase

i have had many battles with falcon turbo's.

your GTR would eat it silly. Take it to the track and make sure you have a few mates record the run because you will make him look stupid.

Thanks Jason for the advise and for noting my spelling mistakes. Didn’t think spelling would bother people so I didn’t put the effort into reviewing and amending – so to note that I am not illiterate and in future will double check spelling. I have only had the car for a bit over a month so I am trying to learn as much about it as possible, this site has been great for that. As for the ¼ mile, I will, and I intend on having a run in the near future as my proof. Hoping for early 11’s!!

Cheers mate, will do. Do you think there is a big difference between a typhoon and a standard XR6 Turbo?

give you an indication my mate and I went to the drags, him in a tuned BAII F6 which made 270rwkw and I in my bone stock R34 GTR (maybe 180atwkw?). I ran 13.7, he ran 13.8.

At the end of the day are you talking track or drag? Drag would be closer, track is no contest, the GTR would have it. The main downside is traction and weight, the brakes on the F6 fade quite fast with all that bulk on a track.

11's shouldn't be a problem with that power. As for the spelling, the true SAU experts will give you alot more of their time if you spend that little bit of effort to spell correctly.

btw - it's advice, not advise......in that context. Could be a spelling mistake, but I'll give you the benifit of the doubt and put it down as grammatical.

Yes, stock standard, there is around 50kw odd difference.

We were talking drag - and your times with your mate are very close lol. As mr.diesel has said, "inch or a mile". Im sure if i mention track to him he will say that I will get spanked there too, but then again he is the type of bloke that will say he can beat a top fueler in his sleep also. I am just going to hit the 1/4 mile and throw numbers at him, and he will have no choice but to prove me wrong with his own slip. Lets just hope our nissan comes out on top!

I like beets, why not take one beet in your left hand and another in your right then proceed to beat John Bowes typhoon with your beets. Beets beating John Bowe = good result

Don't forget to yell "Reap these these beets like a typhoon john Bowe" while you're at it.

If your mate objects beat him with beets then return to beating John Bowe.

Maybe you could do this to a backbeat of The Reverend Horton Heat's beat.

Or if you like men, m.jackson's beat it.

Sounds like a good Saturday arvo to me.

Question was who would go faster, not a 1/4mile time if you ask me.

Short distance the Typhoon will struggle against a GTR, they just aren't built for it, long distance you will watch the FORD pull ahead as they are built for top end power.

If you dont believe me get onto the highway and watch the turbo car's try and keep up with the 8's. Also is the Typhoon standard or what mods does it have? that could make a big difference.

This is exactly a pissing contest with who's dick is bigger then who's added to it.

My 2cents.

Well the typhoon is a 6 cyclinder turbo just like mine, only I have 2 turbos and he has more cc's. Have decided to settle the 'whos manhood is begger contest' in a 1/4 mile drag. His typhoon is completely standard but its the John Bowe edition, which apparently has a bit more tweaking done to it. I am struggling to find any information on it.

Highly doubt you will get early 11's with your mods mate

    • Hi, is the HKS  Tower Bar still available ? negotiable ? 🤔
    • From there, it is really just test and assemble. Plug the adapter cables from the unit into the back of the screen, then the other side to the car harness. Don't forget all the other plugs too! Run the cables behind the unit and screw it back into place (4 screws) and you should now have 3 cables to run from the top screen to the android unit. I ran them along the DS of the other AV units in the gap between their backets and the console, and used some corrugated tubing on the sharp edges of the bracket so the wires were safe. Plug the centre console and lower screen in temporarily and turn the car to ACC, the AV should fire up as normal. Hold the back button for 3 sec and Android should appear on the top screen. You need to set the input to Aux for audio (more on that later). I put the unit under the AC duct in the centre console, with the wifi antenna on top of the AC duct near the shifter, the bluetooth antenna on the AC duct under the centre console The GPS unit on top of the DS to AC duct; they all seem to work OK there are are out of the way. Neat cable routing is a pain. For the drive recorder I mounted it near the rear view mirror and run the cable in the headlining, across the a pillar and then down the inside of the a pillar seal to the DS lower dash. From there it goes across and to one USB input for the unit. The second USB input is attached to the ECUtec OBD dongle and the 3rd goes to the USB bulkhead connected I added in the centre console. This is how the centre console looks "tidied" up Note I didn't install the provided speaker, didn't use the 2.5mm IPod in line or the piggyback loom for the Ipod or change any DIP switches; they seem to only be required if you need to use the Ipod input rather than the AUX input. That's it, install done, I'll follow up with a separate post on how the unit works, but in summary it retains all factory functions and inputs (so I still use my phone to the car for calls), reverse still works like factory etc.
    • Place the new daughterboard in the case and mount it using the 3 small black rivets provided, and reconnect the 3 factory ribbon cables to the new board Then, use the 3 piggyback cables from the daughterboard into the factory board on top (there are stand offs in the case to keep them apart. and remember to reconnect the antenna and rear cover fan wires. 1 screw to hold the motherboard in place. Before closing the case, make a hole in the sticker covering a hole in the case and run the cable for the android unit into the plug there. The video forgot this step, so did I, so will you probably. Then redo the 4 screws on back, 2 each top and bottom, 3 each side and put the 2 brackets back on.....all ready to go and not that tricky really.
    • Onto the android unit. You need to remove the top screen because there is a daughterboard to put inside the case. Each side vent pops out from clips; start at the bottom and carefully remove upwards (use a trim remover tool to avoid breaking anything). Then the lower screen and controls come out, 4 screws, a couple of clips (including 3 flimsy ones at the top) and 3 plugs on the rear. Then the upper screen, 4 screws and a bunch of plugs and she is out. From there, remove the mounting brackets (2 screws each), 4 screws on the rear, 2 screws top and bottom and 3 screws holding in the small plates on each side. When you remove the back cover (tight fit), watch out for the power cable for the fan, I removed it so I could put the back aside. The mainboard is held in by 1 screw in the middle, 1 aerial at the top and 3 ribbon cables. If you've ever done any laptop stuff the ribbon cables are OK to work with, just pop up the retainer and they slide out. If you are not familiar just grab a 12 year old from an iphone factory, they will know how it works The case should now look like this:
    • Switching the console was tricky. First there were 6 screws to remove, and also the little adapter loom and its screws had to come out. Also don't forget to remove the 2 screws holding the central locking receiver. Then there are 4 clips on either side....these were very tight in this case and needed careful persuading with a long flat screw driver....some force required but not enough to break them...this was probably the fiddliest part of the whole job. In my case I needed both the wiring loom and the central locking receiver module to swap across to the new one. That was it for the console, so "assembly is the reverse of disassembly"
