more jackings .. Good to see that were a following the U.S trend now we have to worry about which street we drive in and weather or not we have quick track or not along with all the other day to day issues, great...! I guess in the end the one with least to loose wins. had a mate that it happened to he disabled the door from the outside (passenger) not that its much of solution but at least it will make it that much harder on an attempt.

A question i have though, if a person is involved in a carjacking where life is at risk, and you do have full insurance...would handing the keys over to avoid harm result in voiding your insurance?

i mean, technically, your handing your keys away, im sure some insurance companies will see it this way, and would be nearly as bad as the car jackers themselves.

you could also set one kind of timer in your car, something that runs seperate to everything else. something as simple as a timer that unless you hit a button once you start the car will only run for two minuttes before shutting off automatically. wouldnt be too hard to set up.

sh*t this is ridiculous. I plan on bringing my car up from adelaide to get away from all the mass-defecting-obsessed police over there, only to face theives over here! Jees, My cars just been completely "cosmetically improved" and stands out like a donkeys sack attached to a small dog.

Is it just GTRs that are the main skyline target? or GTSt's too?

"shows how badly these WRX drivers want a skyline "

"the big question is, how on earth did a WRX catch a GTR in the first place "

Thats gold, Jerry! GOLD!!!!!!!:D :D

do you think the police would fine or charge you if they found you carrying a small batton just inside the door, say if you use the excuse about "there have been alot of car jackings lately and you guys aren't always around when needed...."

how do you think that would go down?

Mr R32 M-Spec - I think it'd be confiscated and you'd be fined. Plus with that excuse you'd get done for intent to do battery, not self defence.

I think the best alternative for a battery device which is legal is a small fire extinguisher (chemical type) - you spray the bastards with the chemical and while they're temporarily "blinded" you beat the crap out of them with the canister end. Best of all it's legal because they're legal to carry (Just make sure they're in an easy spot to access.)

Just get a Maglite.

Carby cleaner works better than mace - so I have heard. .....

But I would never encourage violence or vigalantism towards armed Car Jackers. Best to to hand over the keys and let the police & tracker companies handle the rest. That way you just lose your car and not your life.

I think you have to make a judgement call based on how your car is being jacked/stolen. If it's a lone guy with some sort of hand tool threatening you through the window, then I'd say your car would be worth fighting for. But if he has a gun or if there is a bunch of them, might be better all round just to give it up. Try some stealthy tricks like already mentioned, like taking the keys out and hitting the panic alarm once you've legged it away a bit.

Of course, if you discover someone breaking into your car, a king hit and a trip to hospital (for them) is in order :P

Oh, I was thinking of it you came across them in a car park or the like. I think if I busted someone breaking into my garage, I would get them arrested and then move houses asap afterwards. One of the advantages of renting I guess.

    • Don't even try to run it on the stock ECU if you're going to have the boost controller bring boost above ~10 psi. I've already told you that. If you use the Nistune ECU, you will need to CAREFULLY read the available documentation for Neo tuning, and read some threads on the Nistune forums, to discover the various things you have to do to prevent the ECU from going bananas when the boost is too high. The is a table associated with th boost sensor that must be modified to prevent it from shitting the bed. This is just one of the things that you will need to do to the tune in Nistune, because the Neo turbo ECU will be expecting to see a number of things (such as the TCS) that are not there, and you have to block the DTCs on those. It is totally not surprising to me that you are having the problems that you are, but the solutions to these problems have been known for >15 years. So just get it done.
    • Hi. Sry iam not a mechanic and iam not at the car atm so i dont know 100% but they told they measure those and even try to change those. AFM they have two. Coils are new a they have my old one too. Plugs too. ECU...we have 25 NEO stock and Nistune 25 NEO.   But i dont know if any one those could be the problem and why/if/what can cause this, Only thing they did not check is fuel...but that walbro 255 is new(like 1,5 years)... That fuel pressure gauge idk...but i let them know Any suggestions?   EDIT: how can they know if it is like you say he ECU pull power when it reaches a specific boost level that is too high? Tha car has boost controler
    • Can you clarify what you mean by boost cut, do you mean it misfires both when under load (driving) and when stationary and out of gear? Or does the ECU pull power when it reaches a specific boost level that is too high (boost control issue)? Does it occur at idle with no throttle? When you say "the ECU is OK", what ECU is it and why do you think it is OK? Have you used the NEO ECU, and if so do you have a MAP sensor attached? Same for the AFM, why do you think it is OK? Do you have any way to put a fuel pressure gauge on it (even just a mechanical one between the fuel filter and fuel rail)?
    • Hi.. Just another problem. So maybe you can help. I(my mechanic) done swap from my RB20DE NEO to RB25DET NEO. Everything is OK but we have a boost cut. Coils/Plugs are ok...AFM is ok. ECU is ok. I have Walbro 255 but it "changed" sound few months ago(you can hear it ouside) you did not hear that when it was new(maybe faulty?) Sooo...what now? What can cause this boost cut? It is even when you standing still...
