take off the tail shaft and it rips doughy and drifts!

i just missed out on buying a TA-05 rc car from the sale threads in these forums... dahmm to late... and it was only $110 for the whole kit...

im really interested in buying one... do you guys recommend any other online websites that you use to buy you rc stuff...

iv herd mixed reviews about RC-Mart

i might just look around RC forums for something second hand to come up again...

or some1 could organise a group buy on RTR RC drift cars... maybe the TT-01D...

frontline hobbies is where i get all my hobby parts from and even my tt01-Type E

they have heaps more in shop than the site shows.

I am thinking of getting a TT-01 type D but i duno if it would be worth it. The type E lets me go fast and not have a such bad time as the normal TT01 when doing 80km would be impossible for it.

Thats my chassis with the parts i use to help me get that good cornering.

R33's are indeed rare. Getting your hands on the road going version is virtually impossible but I was lucky enough to score a couple of brand new R33 GTR N1 kits (now sold).

The wide body race spec R33's aren't my thing.

You can spot the Sard Supra too. Hard to get stuff.

For R32's, HPI make them for around 50 bucks. They lack the detail of Tamiya but will be fine if your looking at using it as basher.

hey AU92 are you still in contact with the guy who bought the R33?

ive searched all of ebay US, europe, malaysia and oz and found nothing

even if you find a banged up POS shell destined for the bin

pm me please! i want to make moulds and make up my own copy

Wow.. I got to the level with my TT01 where the next thing to do was start upgrading all the control arms with alloy bits etc then decided not too.. it's hard to justify spending 3x the original price of the car!

I have some TT01 hopups I could be persuaded to part with..

yeah but i did get them at a good price of like $175 all up and the guy that i see all the time at the hobby shop only gave me what it needed. The type E is good for racing but i do want a Type D to drift....

i probily wouldnt part with the rims because i don't think tamiya make them separately and there sweet quality :P

My NiMH stickpacks are dying so when I went to get some new rims for my truck yesterday.. had a look at some LiPo's.. my brushless can handle up to 3S but I can only physically fit 2S in the chassis.. it's like a $400 excercise to go LiPo! so I guess it can wait until my real skyline is back on the road

Hey,

Yeh I do but i highly doubt he'll part out the body with the kit and even if he did you'd be looking at a VERY large amount for the body alone

As for Lipo's. They are cheap nowadays. Just make sure you look after them as I've heard of Lipo's exploding

    • Nah that is not actually a lot. Just painting my GTR frontend and the little bits to make sideskirts/nismo flare pieces work correctly/fit on the sedan/mount up correctly came to about $7000. Is it a lot? Sure. None of this is economical. Economy would be shelling the car and buying a 2010 Corolla to commute in. The perspective of all of this is different.
    • I have the re003s’ on my 06 XT Forester Turbo and I highly rate them for street wet and dry
    • I don't see any issues here. I've been saying all along this is a big job, the price reflects that.  When the car comes back perfect I'm sure it will feel like money well spent.
    • Remember, take original quote. Double it. Then add a bit more. It's how any project goes.
    • So, I started this repair and got as far as "fixing" the holes with some fibreglass. God all those years working on boats came back quickly. I decided I'd reach out to some rust guys just to see what they would say about it. I came across a guy about 40 mins away and went to see him. He said the windscreen needs to come out, that there might be some more bits around the windscreen and he'd quote them at the time. But his quote was $300 to remove and replace windscreen and $3k for the damage he can see. He said he could respray the roof for $1200 and the bonnet for another $800 (somebody has previously rattle canned it, its horrendous). This is $5300 + any small additional bits. It's a lot, I get that and the name of one of my fave youtube channels 'Not Economically Viable' comes to mind.  I'm not being financially rational, but I've taken him up on the quote. He's opening a new shop in November with more room, so we're waiting for that. I'll leave the currently missing headliner out until then. I'm looking forward to it being fixed and having the paint looking nice again (lots of clear coat issues on the roof too). / flame suit on.
