Hey guys, just though I'd let you know how i went lowering my Stag.

Ended up buying a set of low king springs from a R33 GTST from a fellow SAU member.

Got started, did the front first and it looked a treat, nice height without being a hazard.

Then came to the rear springs which didn't fit!

I guess I should've expected it because the whole operation was going way too smoothly! haha

The rear springs fit fine at the bottom but the stock springs taper inwards at the top to suit the oval top, whereas the GTST springs stay at a consistent width. In hindsight, I should've thought of that, but I didn't. So whatever.

After a little deliberation, I decided to cut my rear springs. Took off a coil and a half and I'm so happy with the results!

Sits very nicely. And almost identical to the front.

Don't know if any of you care, but just though I'd let you all know, haha.

In fact, in these photos, the change isnt that obvious, but its definitely a noticeable difference!

Will look mint once the front lip and skirts are back on!

Wouldn't it feel a bit under-sprung right now tho?

SK used R34 GTR front springs, R32GTR fronts springs upside in the rear from whiteline for his kits...

But Access Autoworks can supply you with Stagea Tein S-tech's! (or if you want whiteline i will sell you mine cheapish and go STIFF  )

Yeah?

Whats "cheapish"?

And can you offer front and back? Or just back?

set of 4... let me price new springs and get back too you... i paid 300ish, they are in good nick, i just need to get a price to get custom length/rate sorted...

And i won't be doing it until my cast is off as i will be doing the change over myself...

Yeah, no rush. I won't have any spare money for a lil bit anyway.

Spending a lot in the next couple of weeks on FMIC, custom piping, exhaust upgrade, bigger better fuel pump, boost controller and a remap to finish it all off. Then next on the list is new tyres.

Then I want to get my kit fixed and back on.

*Sigh*

I highly, highly, highly recommend Bridgestone Adrenalin RE001

needs more low :D

Nah. If I go any lower the kit will scrape on everything!

Going to get bigger wheels sometime which will make it look a bit better i reckon, but first I need some other much more important mods. ;)

haha yeah for sure, just gotta be more careful when you drive/pick lines - it's do-able (see display pic :D )

i'd steer away from going bigger wheels - 18's are about as big as you'll want to go before tyre profiles become too small

Chopped springs highly illegal in this country. When your wheel is at the bottom of its travel is the spring free to move around?

    • Ok thanks..that was my second question if i can somehow bypass this even with Nistune(that is all i have right now...aparat from stock ECU. So with some aftemarket it can by "bypassed" or make it work?  I know there is Link or Haltech (mainly used). We have ECUmaster here so i will gather some info about it.
    • Yes. You will need to get the original boost sensor and wire it in. That is.... if you plan to use a stock ECU - even a Nistuned ECU. The Nissan ECU will not operate correctly without it connected. And yes, it will do annoying stuff like you are experiencing. You will almost certainly be better off with some aftermarket ECU, than trying to hunt down rare sensors.
    • Ok so ABS/TCS is "not" the problem. Yeah i know now about the ABS with Nistune(i told that to the Nistune guy) but iam not 100% why or why i dont have ABS. ABS cube is in the engine (always has been) but i had braked couple of times rly hard and brakes just locked and scream. Does all Skylines have ABS cube? That boost sensor https://www.sau.com.au/forums/topic/367633-wtb-r34-gtt-turbo-pressure-sensor-pics-inside/ Is this it? I need to ask but i have a picture of engine bay and i do not see that (100% is not in that place) If i do not have this the car can do what mine is?(cutting around 4000 rpm) Here is the pic of my engine bay(only one i have) BUT i think i dont have that cuz loom was used from my RB20DE NEO and i know (obviously) that it does not have boost control or any wire to that...) so maybe that is the problem? (i dont know for 100% if that car where the engine is from had that)...but i dont have the loom from that
    • I'm with you here. It's either loom has an issue, OR, injectors are not functioning properly. It could even be they're just constantly dribbling, hence the wet, but not firing.
    • Depending on how long the car sat it is very possible for injectors to be stuck open or closed, I'd get them cleaned and flow tested. Other than that, obviously when the loom changes and the car doesn't start any more....the loom is suspect so some tracing / comparing may be required
