Has anyone seen this car?

I saw it today its on parramatta rd homebush across the road from the honda dealership.

I just want to know if anyones seen it and can comment on its condition because i saw it today and really liked it. its pretty cheap for a manual n besides having no leather and a bose system its got the brembos and the display, as well as a somewhat civilised bodykit lol.

Im pretty keen to go buy it but next time i go what should i look out for?

Have you driven any V35's before or is this your first V?

Remember don't rush in, keep shopping around. Drive a few of them even if you can't afford the one your driving at least you'll have a better idea.

Best idea would be take someone with you who has a V35.

Post up a topic and see if some near you can come with you to have a look Everybody is nice here

yer ive gone and seen it in person and it seemed pretty clean.

yer its going to be my first V so i have limited knowledge of what to look for besides different shades in the colour and all the panels lining up.

I wanted to check all the electronics such as the power windows n stuff but flat battery.

wat else shuld i be looking for?

brake pads or brake rotors condition, all lights working (specially the footwells or door step lights), underbody condition (scrapes and etc), headlights or fog lights housing (there could be a crack as its a common issues with 03's), and test the door lock with the remote couple of times when you are inside the car and observe.

thats just for me, you can probably get a discount if anything..

main things i would say are windows, central locking, all lights work, check for brake squel, listen for knocking sound outta rear axle, mm thaz all i can think of atm.. but like any car u buy jus giv it a thorough once over... n dont be afraid to haggle or get them to throw in extras, its a buyers market

My only comment would be that if the dealer can not add more than 2 photo's and very little writing on the Website then he really hasn't got a clue.

Would of thought he could have supplied a bit more detail...

Other than that... all the advice has been good, all stuff that all cars should be checked for.

Additionally, listen to V35_Paul and shop around, get the feel for a few, drive them all and do not buy the first you see.

yer ive been in a few but never driven any becuase im not that confident in manual. ive been practicing in my mates civic Type R but yerh still not confident enough.

Also the last one i checked out the guy told me its common for the brembos to squeak because of the ceramic material but it goes away once it warms up. is this true?

hmmm, yeah check over everything, tyres, brakes, lights, also, you have to take it for a drive, i never buy a car without driving it, if you dont drive it you wont hear or feel alot of things, obviously turn the radio off, but when driving let go of the steering wheel, does the car still drive staight or does it turn? listen out for any noises, may be clonks (which is normally suspension) or other things, you will know if it doesnt sound right,

if the guy said the brakes arnt noisey when hot, then take it for a big drive, warm them up, make sure he isnt full of shit,

and defently check under the car, make sure the rails and stuff mounts what ever it might be doesnt have big dents etc....

or you could always get racq to do a inspection if your unsure,

For sure. get the RAC to do an inspection. it cost abit $200+ if i remember right. but they go over it with a fine toothed comb.

Take it for a long drive. Make sure you drive it and not the dealer drive it for you. I hate it went they do that "Wankers"

As for Brakes squeaking because of the ceramic material, I doubt that the V35 had that option so that would be a Salesperson without a clue, lying or just plain wrong!

Unless you buy a top of the line Porsche or similar, you will not get Ceramic Brakes.

Squeaking Brakes can be minor and easily fixed, scored or bent discs with cracks can not without a bit of cash thrown at it. Calipers that have worn or stuck seals are also a bit painful.

I think you may need to continue the research on the car itself and be confident with both your knowledge and your manual driving skills. Then you will see when a Salesperson is full of it.
