im assuming you have a 3076 dyno print out to compare to mine?

Here's one RB25DETS2 referred to:

post-a216081-HKS3037vsGT3582.jpg

The HKS GT3037 makes 180rwkw ~600rpm earlier than the GT35R, and thats loaded up on the dyno - not taking into account the better response resultant from having less inertia to deal with.

or is all that just your personal opinion without actually owning one? spongier? the host is asking about drag racing not going shopping

Its after driving and/or being passenger in a few cars with .82a/r GT3582Rs as well as my own with .82a/r GT30R. I haven't owned a .82a/r GT35R, as I was targetting around 300rwkw and I seems stupid to me to buy a turbo suited for far more when you don't intend on making far more. I think GT35R are good for the power level they are suited for, but this guy has said clearly he wants to run up to 1.3bar on stock internals - so there is absolutely no advantage in going to a GT35R though even in drag racing with stock cams etc it will be that much harder to get a clean launch and if he doesn't get up in the revs/through the gears swiftly enough he has the potential for that much less punch into the next gear.

You seem to be getting quite irate about it? Its nothing personal, just sheer logic that a turbo best suited to 280-300rwkw is better suited to 280-300rwkw than one suited to mid/high 300rwkw. Why would you try and convince someone with size 10 feet to buy size 12 shoes?

3076 could be the go then...internal have no dramas holding 1.3-1.4bar?

aslong as you make up a nice bellmouth style dump it holds boost fine. i'm running 17psi with a profec and it holds fine. when i first got it all together i still had a turbotech manual controller, that didnt work too well.....20psi untuned ftl

GT30 rear or rb25 style rear?

a good split dump will hold fine too. I am using a split and it holds sweet all the way

im curious as to the dyno graph why is the total speed at redline so much different?

is this 4th gear with the 30 and 5th gear with the 35?

surely he isnt reving it past 8k?

this may even the ramp onto boost up a little..

Have to double check with adrian but i think his spins to 7800, mines limited 7250.

Don't think that rpm on the dyno chart is accurate somehow....Both cars dyno'd in 4th gear.

Hey Darren

I wouldnt read too much into that graph, rev limiter was set to 7600, it did hit it hard tho, also it was crazy rich on the ramp so it's not a fair comparison.

the response of the gt30 running that sorta boost is very hard to get to the ground, not my cupa tea!!!!

Yeah you got grip i'm jealous. I'm learning to get it to the ground tho with very moderate throttle imputs. I'm over mashing it and leaving 3rd gear strips down the road (sometimes anyway). Nothing wrong with response tho, excellent turbo for 2.5ltr imo.

Power not getting to the ground is more about driver/tyres/suspension and so on.

Especially around the 250-300rwkw mark. I drive 280rwkw, and have next to no traction problems in any setup ive had (GT30 was 270rwkw, GT-SS's are around the same)

Why do you keep saying the things that I was thinking  I wrote exactly the same response, remembered those guys are both making north of 330wkw and decided that maybe mine would be different with that power and decided to hold my tongue just in case when I make bigged numbers the car becomes useless haha. With 280rwkw however, my car is perfectly controllable - sure an "iffy" condition surface will result in traction loss in 3rd if you are being an animal but overall its quite useable.

Any surface in third with anymore than quarter to half throttle coming onto boost results in wheelspin. When i was running 274rwkw i had no issues with wheelspin in third and second was quite controllable as you and Nismoid are finding.

Been actually thinking of running off the 18psi actuator for a lazy 300-320 to see if its any better in the traction stakes.

Read again mate i'm having issues in third at 350rwkw

270 and you loose traction in 3rd?

wow... i can full throttle and never loose grip by 3rd

Not sure who you are pointing that at but as I said, when I have issues in 3rd its due to compromised traction levels - a cold NZ evening where there has been rain at some point during the day even if the road appears dry is one such situation. I was just saying its POSSIBLE to have it being a bit of a handful (not counting going out in rain which is a given haha)

The car doesn't have ridiculously traction, most people are impressed at how much in gear acceleration it can pull on street tyres - usually it can take pretty much full throttle in 2nd and it will just writhe a bit, not so much you need to lift off. First gear is useless at over half throttle.

    • Hi, is the HKS  Tower Bar still available ? negotiable ? 🤔
    • From there, it is really just test and assemble. Plug the adapter cables from the unit into the back of the screen, then the other side to the car harness. Don't forget all the other plugs too! Run the cables behind the unit and screw it back into place (4 screws) and you should now have 3 cables to run from the top screen to the android unit. I ran them along the DS of the other AV units in the gap between their backets and the console, and used some corrugated tubing on the sharp edges of the bracket so the wires were safe. Plug the centre console and lower screen in temporarily and turn the car to ACC, the AV should fire up as normal. Hold the back button for 3 sec and Android should appear on the top screen. You need to set the input to Aux for audio (more on that later). I put the unit under the AC duct in the centre console, with the wifi antenna on top of the AC duct near the shifter, the bluetooth antenna on the AC duct under the centre console The GPS unit on top of the DS to AC duct; they all seem to work OK there are are out of the way. Neat cable routing is a pain. For the drive recorder I mounted it near the rear view mirror and run the cable in the headlining, across the a pillar and then down the inside of the a pillar seal to the DS lower dash. From there it goes across and to one USB input for the unit. The second USB input is attached to the ECUtec OBD dongle and the 3rd goes to the USB bulkhead connected I added in the centre console. This is how the centre console looks "tidied" up Note I didn't install the provided speaker, didn't use the 2.5mm IPod in line or the piggyback loom for the Ipod or change any DIP switches; they seem to only be required if you need to use the Ipod input rather than the AUX input. That's it, install done, I'll follow up with a separate post on how the unit works, but in summary it retains all factory functions and inputs (so I still use my phone to the car for calls), reverse still works like factory etc.
    • Place the new daughterboard in the case and mount it using the 3 small black rivets provided, and reconnect the 3 factory ribbon cables to the new board Then, use the 3 piggyback cables from the daughterboard into the factory board on top (there are stand offs in the case to keep them apart. and remember to reconnect the antenna and rear cover fan wires. 1 screw to hold the motherboard in place. Before closing the case, make a hole in the sticker covering a hole in the case and run the cable for the android unit into the plug there. The video forgot this step, so did I, so will you probably. Then redo the 4 screws on back, 2 each top and bottom, 3 each side and put the 2 brackets back on.....all ready to go and not that tricky really.
    • Onto the android unit. You need to remove the top screen because there is a daughterboard to put inside the case. Each side vent pops out from clips; start at the bottom and carefully remove upwards (use a trim remover tool to avoid breaking anything). Then the lower screen and controls come out, 4 screws, a couple of clips (including 3 flimsy ones at the top) and 3 plugs on the rear. Then the upper screen, 4 screws and a bunch of plugs and she is out. From there, remove the mounting brackets (2 screws each), 4 screws on the rear, 2 screws top and bottom and 3 screws holding in the small plates on each side. When you remove the back cover (tight fit), watch out for the power cable for the fan, I removed it so I could put the back aside. The mainboard is held in by 1 screw in the middle, 1 aerial at the top and 3 ribbon cables. If you've ever done any laptop stuff the ribbon cables are OK to work with, just pop up the retainer and they slide out. If you are not familiar just grab a 12 year old from an iphone factory, they will know how it works The case should now look like this:
    • Switching the console was tricky. First there were 6 screws to remove, and also the little adapter loom and its screws had to come out. Also don't forget to remove the 2 screws holding the central locking receiver. Then there are 4 clips on either side....these were very tight in this case and needed careful persuading with a long flat screw driver....some force required but not enough to break them...this was probably the fiddliest part of the whole job. In my case I needed both the wiring loom and the central locking receiver module to swap across to the new one. That was it for the console, so "assembly is the reverse of disassembly"
