Hey everyone,

My GTR R32 was stolen yesterday morning(14/4/09) at about 2.45am. Its silver with grey rims, Kakimoto exhaust and there were Wiseco Pistons and MTX Audio stickers on rear windscreen. Number plates are AW58AK. Anyone heard or seen anything about this car can you please contact me as I am offering an $8000 reward because of its sentimental value. They broke in using an old aerial which was left at the seen and brought there own fuses as I take mine out every night! Steering lock was on so they probably smashed the column to pieces and drove it away with a screwdriver! F**king bastards!

I saw a car very much like what you're describing yesterday at around 4:30pm driving north on the Princes Hwy Kirrawee.

1 person in the car with short, dark curly hair and big aviator style sunnies on. Can't be 100% on the plate, but the numbers / letters you mentioned are familiar ( I always read plates and try to figure out what they mean ). I'm sure that's no real help to you, but........... :P

Yep. I often read plates too. Stays in the short term memory for a couple of days.

Sound like Yellow/Black plates (if they ain't changed by now)?

Post some pics up mate..

A car that's worth $8000 in reward to get back...? Sounds like you should have taken some more steps to secure it! GPS/GSM tracking for example.

Sorry to hear though mate. All the best in getting it back.

They dont have to be the right fuses.. any high rated fuse will do!

At the end of the day, any semi-pro car thief will be able to figure out that if there's no immobiliser they can find, then the fuses must be missing/blown.. it's the first step in diagnosing why a car doesnt kick over!

Yeah.. it was booked in yesterday to get alarm.. funny how it went the day before! Ive posted an 8G reward because of the sentimental value. Mybrother who passed had given the car to me, thats why it means so much! Plus the 200 man hours ive spent on it!

I've seen a deadset ringer for this parked basically on the corner of Oscar St and Victoria Avenue in Chatswood (On your left if you're heading towards Westfield from the RTA).

Can't confirm the number plate, and It was only there in the morning when I walked to work, wasn't there in the afternoon.

If I see it again I'll confirm the number plate.

know how you feel mate; had my first GTR stolen and although it didn't have the family connection that yours has, it's still a kick in the guts when you go out to an empty space where the car should be. I had six yrs and hard earned $$s in that baby. hope the 'generous reward helps; ironic isn't it how we have to offer payment to get back what we already own?!.

theiving a/holes$.

the cops caught the guy that stole my car; he is now doing 'time' but he refused to reveal what he had done with the car. I went to court for sentencing and later met with some of his 'mates' and his girlfriend outside the court. I offered them $5k reward for info on where the car was but never heard form any of the 'scum'. also posted reward on this forum, no luck.

anyway, just thought I would pass on sympathy, I know where you are coming from. good luck.

Man that sucks. My car was broken into not long ago, fortunately they didnt get the car. Sounds like it is someone in your street who knows you take the fuses out.

FYI you only need to take the fuses out for about 2-3min to demobilize the car and what not, or its the battery terminal, one or the other, so a pro bringing fuses sounds suss to me. I think its someone you know or who lives near you.

Dude that sucks, sounds like a organised crime hit though if they wont offer up info about the car for that cash.

Think on the bright side, the scum bag that they caught gets to enjoy the showers for how long?

    • Just trying to get my head around this. At 5psi of boost, you turn on your wmi pump, and then you're using a 3000cc injector, to allow flow upto the actual engine, where you have your 6x200cc injectors and a 500cc injector. If the above is correct, what advantage are you obtaining by having the 3000cc injector blocking flow, is this just incase a line breaks between that injector and the motor you can stop flow immediately? Or are the 6x200cc and 500cc less injectors and just spray nozzle?
    • Welcome! New member myself, but I had an R33 back in 2002. Best advice I could give, based on my experience: if you're running the factory turbo, be very conservative with boost. I made the mistake of just fiddling around with the boost controller and cranking the boost for fun, and the end result was my intake pipes popping off frequently from the constant deluge of oil that was being blown into the recirc by the stressed-out turbo, which itself was siphoning oil from the engine and farting it out both sides of its centre bearing (or something to that effect). If I could do it all again, I would have gotten a new turbo and had a tune dialled in professionally and then just left it alone! Funny you mention the metal shavings in the gearbox, as I had the same thing - the probe plug (magnetic drain plug, essentially) would come out caked with shavings. At least it was doing its job. Not sure if that's just sacrificial wear and part of the deal, or if my gearbox was shagged, but I wasn't abusing it. Enjoy the R33 - they're a dying breed, and if they weren't $35k+ on CarSales in Queensland, I might have picked up one of those again, instead of the 370GT I own now (though I'm loving the 370GT, that big 3.7L V6 just hits different).
    • Howdy folks. I owned an R33 back in 2002, which was thoroughly beyond my capacity (financially speaking) to maintain/insure, so we parted ways in 2004. Fast forward 21 years (to literally yesterday, in fact) and I'm now the proud owner of a 2007 V36 370GT. I'm happily surprised by how much power the VQ37VHR makes, compared to the RB25DET, considering the latter is turbocharged. I had planned to add a turbo at some point but I'm on the fence about whether I'll even need it (though I do love the sudden onset of extra torque). Any other 370GT owners around the traps, I'd love to hear about your experiences with this car (good and bad).
    • Perhaps the answer is... more jacks!* *proper jacks must be used.
