You can either made a small cut in the lining or take the whole lining out of the sides..

If you just want to test fit take out the lining and you will see two little bolts with rubber caps on them about 2-3cms long.

Take off the rubber caps slide your strut brace on and bolt it up.

Quite easy, hope this helps man

thanks ill take it all out tonight and have a look.

i got my head under there last nite but my gf drive way doesnt have good light so couldnt see too much.

do i need to supply the bolt or r there already existing ones there for me to use

cheers

I ordered one of the carbing ones but had problem fitting them on. The mechanic do believe it is the wrong model for my car. Anyway, we stripped the interior on the back and removed the seats but the bar is sitting at an angle where we cant bolt it down to the strut towers. But from the pic above, it seems to be different though. Is this because of the design from different brands or? I have a woofer in my boot which is secured (which i cant remove) and if the bar is meant to be sitting that way then I might not be able to put the rear brace on. :P

would love to see some pics of the carbing brace. where did you get it from? does it sit in the boot like the cusco? or sits just under/on top of parcel shelf? thanks

nah, i dont have pic of the rear cos it is not the right model so we wasted 1.5 hours stripping the interior. But the front ones is thicker than the OEM ones (OEM is adjustable??) and ooh, the front carbing comes with master cylinder stopper too. :P waiting for their supplier to get back to them on why they sent the wrong rear.

By the way, anyone else here have the carbing rear braces? I need to know if i will be able to retain my back seats and my woofer?? Looking at whiteline sway bars too... LOL

Anyone with pic of a carbing braces on ER34 please please post them here!!

bit of an old thread but...where can you get a rear strut brace from for a r34 gtt?

is this for a sedan or coupe? apparently they (carbing) hasnt got one for the sedan so if you have a coupe then try asking WA suspension (brad on SAU).

so other than coilovers, what do you reckon is effective and achieves something for r33/r34?

Swaybars obviously, the best value for money handling upgrade you can make. Then get the suspension geometry where it should be, so camber kits front and rear, caster kit anmd rear subframe alignment kit. That will get the maximum amount of tyre in contact with the road/track, then it's up to how good the tyres themselves are.

Cheers

    • I know people cry at the price of the Getrag 12-14k for a conversion now, but it really is a nice mid point. Not going to get change from 10k on a gearset installed.  $30k++ for sequential.   I know you run the risk of a damaged used one and parts are hard to get but as a street car gearbox its really hard to beat. If you enjoy a more traditional manual, its the choice no question.
