Don't forget ...

SAU SA club is hitting it off tomorrow with a fundraiser BBQ.

Saturday 25th April (tomorrow) @ 1.00pm ... PM me or Kell for address or phone 0400320921 (Kellie) or 0449928227 (Ruby)

Come talk to the organisers, grab a copy of the Constitution or get a rundown on it, and join up and help nominate Committee members.

:/

don't see how this needed another thread

that makes 3 threads now :)

But not 3 threads by me. Its car related. Club related in fact. The club deserves a fresh thread, to get away from the rubbish of earlier. This is my thread giving one last heads up for the fundraiser for those who have not PMed me or Kell.

My post in the Events thread is dead, and shows not many members go there.

can you put the constitution in this post?

The Constitution is too large a document to be posted here. PM me your email addy and I'll email you a copy.

also what does SAU SA club offer different to SAU generally?

That is detailed in the Constitution and will be discussed at tomorrow's BBQ.

The club will be CAMS affiliated. There will be an exclusive SAU SA thread which only paid members can access. Events and track days (for members only under CAMS licence). Shows and cruises for members only (been talking with Auto Salon people and other event organisers). And there's a little thing up our sleeve which paid members will find most helpful (to be advised at the BBQ).

I'm just curious not having been involved in this previously

I'll PM you the details of the BBQ fundraiser.

Well, I'm off to Vilis now and won't be back to this thread until after the BBQ ... you have our numbers now. :/

Well... as it sounds, how long before we can sign up and pay our fees? I can't go to the find raiser (working :/ ) but I would like to sign up. I was just about to sign up to NDCC for my CAMS club membership but would prefer to sign up to SAU SA if it really goes ahead. I'd be happy to help when I can get time off.

havent been scheduled for work so im hoping to get there :)

once the constitution is finalized then it'll be publicly posted fyi - at this stage its a draft so it would be counterproductive to publicise, however that said if you're keen to contribute, tomorrow is the venue to give your opinion and state your opinions and objections. Nobody is asking you to drop your wallet aside from the price of sausage and bread, if you dont want one then thats cool too. (your loss imho, nothin' like a sanger n bread heh - vegetarians fail) - either way I'd love to hear all opinions

Just hope I dont get called to work on Anzac Day :| Dawns service means im gonna be sleepy az all sat..

-D

i spoke to ruby tonight at bp breifly. i probly wont be making this one due to work (a real killer for me) however ill get down to all jap day for a chat, ill join for sure n c what goes on.

i think we just need to run it like a cruise... open to any one... people want to be stupid go elsware, and once we see a few people join it will slowly get bigger and bigger...

the only question i think people will have is where is there money going, whos got it and doing what with it... speaking to other states club leaders and comm' members will help alot. see what there doing, and how there running things.

do we get a little made a donation thing in our avitar thingo? :)

would running it free for the 1st 3 months be an option so every one can see what we are doing? not just hey pay ur $ n then see what goes on. also that way we cover our asses if it doesnt go to plan.

i think a list of all the benifits you get with a membership should be clearly stated on the forum.

very very big props to ruby and kell btw! deff putting in what everyone eles cbf! imho!

Wow Steve, are your balls blue or something? As far as I'm concerned, the amount of time you've spent on this forum means sweet f**k all - he's contributed to the sau community here even if he doesnt want to put on a badge and make noises like some...

Shooting his mouth off? Seems like something you're pretty good at mate. Once again, you personally are contributing NOTHING to this. So f**k off and take your negativity elsewhere.

im sure i've read that before somewhere...?

careful dohmar, you've only been on here 2 years mate.... :)

look forward to meeting everyone at the BBQ

Good on everyone who has put in the effort to got things moving. From what I've seen the club thing has been taken further by them than anyone I've seen since I've been on here.

Shame on those un-named people who have to stick in a negative comment wherever they can (Madaz). Have you noticed that no-one cares what you think?

I'll see everyone at the BBQ

guys im pretty sure steve wasnt attacking him based soley on his time on the forum, but more of what has happened before he joined up with other previous club attempts (cubes etc)

so take a chill pill benny boy

and if you did take the mentioned chill pill you would see that steve was infact helping by answering a question for chef stag.

1 year or 10 years im still a fairly active member on here... and this club will be based on new people joining all the time.

Madaz, yes ive only been here a year or so and since ive been here ive seen roo and kelly do alot for the club. i dont no cubes and havnt been aware of what hes done in previous years. but all i can vouch on is what ive seen... and ive seen roo put in the hard yards of late that count. (this thread doenst need to get outa hand)

happy to see this is actually going ahead!

still dont understand why some people are being so negative toward SAU SA...

personally, if i still had, or had another skyline/stag, id be at the barby today showing support.

lol Rhys, sometimes you sail very close to the wind and there's been many a time that my finger has hovered over the Warn/Ban button (especially when you & Ruby get into it) but on occasion you come thru as a true Humanitariun.

Benny Boy, take a deep breath and read Steve's post again.....nothing really wrong with it and if Adam took offence, I'm sure he's a big boy now and can fight his own battles.

Now back on topic

ended up staying in today, few days of not sleeping, crashed out today.

ruby, ill hunt you down tomorrow and you can catch me up on all this if you dont mind?

    • Just trying to get my head around this. At 5psi of boost, you turn on your wmi pump, and then you're using a 3000cc injector, to allow flow upto the actual engine, where you have your 6x200cc injectors and a 500cc injector. If the above is correct, what advantage are you obtaining by having the 3000cc injector blocking flow, is this just incase a line breaks between that injector and the motor you can stop flow immediately? Or are the 6x200cc and 500cc less injectors and just spray nozzle?
    • Welcome! New member myself, but I had an R33 back in 2002. Best advice I could give, based on my experience: if you're running the factory turbo, be very conservative with boost. I made the mistake of just fiddling around with the boost controller and cranking the boost for fun, and the end result was my intake pipes popping off frequently from the constant deluge of oil that was being blown into the recirc by the stressed-out turbo, which itself was siphoning oil from the engine and farting it out both sides of its centre bearing (or something to that effect). If I could do it all again, I would have gotten a new turbo and had a tune dialled in professionally and then just left it alone! Funny you mention the metal shavings in the gearbox, as I had the same thing - the probe plug (magnetic drain plug, essentially) would come out caked with shavings. At least it was doing its job. Not sure if that's just sacrificial wear and part of the deal, or if my gearbox was shagged, but I wasn't abusing it. Enjoy the R33 - they're a dying breed, and if they weren't $35k+ on CarSales in Queensland, I might have picked up one of those again, instead of the 370GT I own now (though I'm loving the 370GT, that big 3.7L V6 just hits different).
    • Howdy folks. I owned an R33 back in 2002, which was thoroughly beyond my capacity (financially speaking) to maintain/insure, so we parted ways in 2004. Fast forward 21 years (to literally yesterday, in fact) and I'm now the proud owner of a 2007 V36 370GT. I'm happily surprised by how much power the VQ37VHR makes, compared to the RB25DET, considering the latter is turbocharged. I had planned to add a turbo at some point but I'm on the fence about whether I'll even need it (though I do love the sudden onset of extra torque). Any other 370GT owners around the traps, I'd love to hear about your experiences with this car (good and bad).
    • Perhaps the answer is... more jacks!* *proper jacks must be used.
    • I NEVER think about using a scissor jack unless there is absolutely no other alternative. f**king things are dangerous, annoying and stupid.
