My Courtcase Today

Well a while back last year in about august i posted a topic saying how i had a summons for going around a corner in the wet ( not speeding)and car spun out(no traction or abs so wheels locked), across 2 lanes. had to appear infront of a magistrate and got done for careless driving, Soon as she saw on the report that the informer said p-plater skyline sports car she went down.

i ended up getting 12 month good behaviour bond

$300 for the court fund..probably so they can have a nice big christmas dinner

and have to attend a road trauma program (N)

this magistrate was a tight a$%

she goes on how its a disgrace to abuse such a gift such as having a sport car bla bla

*but what i dont think she realises is that its a NON turbo 2.5 litre ...half the cars out now are more powerful and nothing gets said about them, holden ve sv6, aurion, xr6's..

but anyway accepted the result, but this lady was a bi*$&, was watching another case before mine & listen to this..

Old guy around 60 yr old or something had to go to court because he was an electrician who was fined $50 for repairs because he went to one of the clients house to recieve payment of around $3000 because they hadnt paid. They were in the house and he was banging on the door and they werent answering, He broke a section of the door an was forced to pay for repairs ($50) and nothing was said about the $3000 that was still owing to him from the occupants..

he's now retired and wanted to collect money for a job he was hired to do, and is taken to court and forced to pay $50 for repairs cause he wanted his money...wtf is up with that

First of all, with the case of the old man, the issue before the court was the damage created by him not the $3000 owing. If he wanted to recover the $3000 then that would be another case that he would initiate against the client. Just because someone ows you money, it doesnt give you the right to damage someone elses property

In regards to your case, you actually got off fairly light. A mere $300 and good behavior bond is peanuts. You're lucky you didnt lose your license.

ABS doesn't tend to work unless you're braking - also brakes don't work to well when the car is already drifting/sideways.

I can understand that you're upset, but really you have nobody else to blame.

I don't to sound all Mum and Dad but you simply can't spin a car out in the wet unless you're pushing the limits of the car/road. Common sense says that if it's wet there is a cause to slow down due to lesser traction. Just becuase you're under the speed limit doesn't mean you're driving within the limits of the conditions if you get what I'm saying. The only excelption to the rule here is an oil patch but I doubt that's the case.

Just cop is sweet and slow down next time in the wet hey, and while you're at it get those tyres checked

yeah ive heard all this before...i went and did level 2 driving course at murcotts and they show you how to handle the car in the wet and braking in the wet so you learn how your car responds. The magsstrate acknowledged i did try to learn from my mistake and gain knowledge so thats why i got off light instead of suspended license ect.

as for pushing the car that day i wasnt...i wasnt speeding or anything just the road was slippery and i did not adjuct my speed as i was in a rush as i slept in and had a assessment task that day for VCE.

Im not saying i wish it nenver happened but sometimes everyone needs bit of a scare to awaken them to their driving habits, cause everytime since trhat day its rained and i drive in the wet i always take it easy around the corners so i use it as a learning experience more than anything else

also the murcotts level 2 course was great fun aswel, i would reccomend it to anyone of all ages

also had court today, lost my licance for 12months, and also a $250 fine.

but could have been alot worse so im pretty happy with what i recieved and have learnt my lesson.

yeah i got off fairly good i guess, she was impressed that i took it within myself to learn from my mistake and do a driving course.

Since that incident i replaced my tyres as they were previously Nankangs i think and were quite horrible in the wet.

i was reading something in the paper the other day about how some guy was driving and playing with the radio and then he either ran someone over or crashed into there car,i forget, but either way the other person died.

The guy went to court and nothing happened to him.... you'd think killing someone would atleast get you a $50 fine... ?
