Hi all,

Over the past few weeks i have noticed a floating sensation in the rear end under hard acceleration. Not up and down, more side to side.

Would worn pinion gears in the diff cause this? Each side trying to supply drive at different times?

Any thoughts?

Id like to get an idea of what it might be before i take it to a diff place, suspension place ect ect

Its more likely to be worn bushes or hicas rack ends - there are heaps of points where a few mm movement can turn into a unstable feeling at the rear. Best to get it up on a hoist and check the inner and outer end of every link that goes to the hub. And also the bushes where subframe bolts to the car as they can get movement too.
