Goldcoast Ex Sau Member White '95 Gts-t @ Preferred Autos

Hi.

Just wondering who use to own this car .....

You may know just by looking at the picture, located here.

It is at preferred autos (www.preferredautos.com.au) On Brisbane Rd, just off the Gold coast hwy.

I am looking at buying a skyline, noticed this car in the dealership today as I drove past and went in and had a look. I noticed it has a SAU sticker on the car.

Has anyone bought from these guys? If i was to purchase it I would take out the extra warranty cover although I want to get my hands on the warranty terms and conditions first and read through them, anyone had any experiences regarding this? The guy i talked to seemed genuine though, so he is either really good at his job or really is, there are some nice cars in there.

Anybodies input would be appreciated.

Would you really buy a R33? its a boat though.. only respect is for R33 GTR.

best off getting a R32 or R34.. but up too you..

I'm not looking at buying one for speed. R32 is too old, and I only like 2dr R34s and there doesn't seem to be too many of them within my area in my price range.

I have an R33 GTST and love it. I love the wifes stocko as well.....If you have the money I would get an R34 GTT. Go for unmodded or basic exhaust and filter.... as it reduces the chance of getting one thats been flogged off its T!ts(doesnt really but gotta have a better chance).

Shop around and get them checked right out......

BUT I WANT AN R34 GTR :) BUT WIFE SAYS NO(Divorce coming I think lol)

Thanks mate. ha, yeh a GTT is a little out of my price range. So GTST looks more appealing. I am from NSW, so that is why I was looking at them in dealerships in QLD as I would ask for rego to be transferred or the blue slip or whatever I will need to be done before I even consider buying one from QLD.

That particular dealership the GTS-T is at above, offers extended warranty also - although I would want to thoroughly read the terms and conditions (the guy mentioned it would cover the turbo, aircon compressor etc to what extent though? if the part is found faulty? would it cover wear/age?). It looked nice with minor mods i.e. exhaust, bov and a cannon (the cannon would be getting thrown in the bin, dont like them), it had the original filterbox (whether or not it had just been put back on?) I don't want anything with a pod or any defectable crap.

I would love to get a NSW mechanic in there and fully go over it.

yeah his a member on here just cant remember his username :) , as i remember he posted in the spotted thread when i seen him.

haha. thanks mate.

Did it happen to be related to this post .....

"spotted some dickhead in a white r33 last night, trying to race a blue wrx in the rain just after airport drive in brissy. Of course this dumb f*kker lost and stalls. Then decides to try and catch him while reving the shit out of every gear because he dosnt have traction.

Then the idiot decides to clutch kick in the middle of the road with cars behind him, and nearly lose's it into the ditch. You my friend are a absolute f**khead, you put my girls life at risk. Your lucky you turned off, after nearly losing it because at the next set of lights i was going to give you a hiding."

Just did a bit of stalking through your posts .... :P doesn't appear that was the car, thankgod. It sounds like a car you said you spotted near pac fair username is NismoKnight

Going to send him a message/email about the car, he doesn't seem like someone who would thrash the car judging by his posts. Thanks for everyones help.

More input would be great.

That white R33 in the first post looks a lot like Konrad's old car. He bought a Mazda 6 MPS IIRC, and I'm not sure he browses here any more, but you could try sending him a PM and it should send him an email notification.

Oh and just for the hell of it...

Thanks. Yeh i sent him a PM. I was under the impression insurance may be $2k~2.5K I was prepared to pay but NRMA just quoted me on the phone $3,500 and they wouldn't insure it for any more than $10K I would never own a car without comprehensive insurance so I will shop round but if ~$3K is the norm then I think I may just buy a ba xr6 or xr6 turbo. Got quoted $1,200 to insure a 2003 xr6 turbo.

oh an btw, mad blings on your R32 mate. love it. You would have great air conditioning on that.

haha, i just ignored the above boat post. The guy is obviously still a teenager or not far from it, Paul Walker is probably still his hero.

yep thats the one. That other 33 was some wanker in brissy.

I'm also in the market for a 33 and have looked at this one a few times. I'm thinking it may have some front end repairs as well cause the grill is body coloured. Aren't they supposed to be black ?

    • HFM BM57 has a "bad" knee point, IIRC. It's not the same thing as the later R chassis MC.
    • The ATTESSA is functionally identical to R34; there were a bunch of JDM models that continued ATTESSA including Fuga/Q70, Skyline/Q50, Cima etc as an option. All with Auto only and I think mostly for snow regions. AFAIK there were no AWD VR30DDTT sold in Australia - it is on my to do list to check regs for racing a LHD car in Targa/ATR/AASA/CAMS events because if I can get the auto to work it would be interesting to run a 4wd car The Ecuteck TCM tuning is the same model as their ECU tuning, they already have it for R35 and Dose's favourite, BMW. You buy "points" to allow your computer to be tuned, buy either a bluetooth (phone app) or bluetooth+USB+Key (phone and PC) dongle, and pay for a tune that will be locked to your tuner ( ). You can also access the tuning software yourself but 1. it is mega expensive and 2. these computers have a billion parameters that intersect, so how could you ever spend enough time on it to get a decent result.
    • Or, is it a case of what it is like owning an R series Skyline? NFI what the previous owner has done or fiddled with... Ha ha ha After reading through this thread, I went on a bit of a research about the Q50/Q60. Now I'm quite intrigued by them! Is the AWD in them more like a WRX where it's always AWD, or is it more like the ATTESSA in the GTRs? By the sound of this TCU tuning, this sounds like a case of someone has made some real software for it, and you just need the right piece of hardware, and then you license that specific vehicle/TCU. Or is this a case of the software will be really expensive so only a few tuners have it, and you still have to pay a license per vehicle?
    • By popular demand.. it was a coil. Got my hands on 1 new OEM coil, replaced with the one that made the less noise difference when I unplugged it while the car was running and started the car up. No stutter and the engine light was gone. I guess I’ll buy the other 5 they have lol
    • No, code 21 is very straightforward. It can only be the things described in that diagnostic flow. In fact it has no way of knowing that the spark plug resistance is out of spec.
