what are legal positions for front number plate? after getting my car resprayed i want to mount front number plate on the side but dont know which side?

i already had cops trying to defect me for number plate angle and only 2 screws coz they couldnt find anything else, so i wanna be sure before i drill any holes in freshly sprayed front bar.

i dunno whats legal but i have mine mounted on the left and ive had many cops look at my car and not say anything about it

i think its got to be about 100mm off the ground to be legal or something , might have to call regency up mate

passenger side. only reason i chose that side is a lot of cars that come from the factory with offset plates, have em on that side (ie alpha romeo).

dont think they are to fussed on which side they are on. but it would make sense to have them on the drives side though, that way on-coming traffic can see it with ease

OK..

i was pulled up by a cop at a car park on one of kell's cruises,

i had it on the passenger side, right down the bottom of the bar.

she didnt mind it being on the side, or on an angle, but said it had to be ATLEAST 30cm off the ground.

first hand info right there.

I'm not sure about the ruling in SA, but in Vic it must be legible when viewed from a 45-degree angle from either side of the car.

Its about 20 degrees maximum in the official transport SA guidelines but like craig said, they're more concerned about visibility and height - I've never had any issues with my plate, it went thru regency fine with the relocation kit and that has around a 10 degree angle

-D

    • Agreed, I've never seen a 260RS specific manual. As GTSBoy said it will mostly be stagea other than the engine loom https://www.hgeconsulting.com.au/stageaservicemanual.pdf
    • You'lll likely have to make do with R33 GTR for engine/tranny stuff, and Stagea for the body. I don't know that there's even been an actual diagram seen in the wild.
    • Haha, i kow right? Could have bought so many cars for the same amount of money (or less) but driving Unicorn gives you at least +1mln to style 😅. Like wise man said "life's to short to drink cheap wine and drive boring cars" 😉
    • Newbie here, proud owner of an Autech 260RS. I'm on the hunt for wiring diagrams specific to the 260RS, particularly S1. I've ran my eyes through R33, R34 Diagrams, there are some similarities, however continue to find incorrect wire colours and pins on connectors in the 33,34 diagrams.   I was hoping someone could point me in the right direction? I'd be happy to pay for the originals in Japanese. I can translate them, at least they would be accurate.   Any help please would be greatly appreciated, never heard an RB26DETT before let alone driven one, and I've got a spaghetti monster of goodness to sort out.   Cheers Benny
