I posted up this thread:

http://www.skylinesaustralia.com/forums/Ne...nt-t272279.html

I am not affiliated with these people in anyway whatsoever, I merely went in there to buy something and asked a question - could you do my fellow SAU members a discount, the reply was, yes sure, why not...

Can someone in authority please advise why this thread was deleted?

It is not a group buy, it is nothing to do with anything other than getting this forum's members more bang for their buck, why is that a bad thing and what 'rule' does this infringe upon.

I await your reply with baited breath, a bloody PM advising why it had been deleted would have been courtious

i am not trying to troll, i just would love to hear what I did wrong my trying to get everyone a discount on radar detectors, I made no representation as to the legalities, the functionality or anything other than specify models and the prices that were on offer from the business in question.

No they are not a forum sponsor, but who cares, they are offering the forum (which by definition is its members) a 50% on retail discount. What exactly is the problem I do not understand?

1. It was in General Discussion, should be in Group Buys, as it is a post made to sell items (hence classified section), and the discount is offered to SAU members (so group buy)

2, Radar detectors are only legal to sell, own and operate in Western Australia.

3. The means by which contraband items are sold are thereby also illegal in all states outside of WA.

Your thread hasn't been deleted, simply made invisible until the moderation team decides what the safe and legal means of dealing with it is. Feel free to speak to a WA moderator, and post the thread in the seperate WA only classified section if they give you the all clear.

ok thanks People.

As far as I am aware, it is not illegal to own or possess a radar detector, it is however illegal to possess one while in a motor vehicle in the States other than WA.

I dont think it is illegal to sell one then otherwise ebay would be screwed!!

Perhaps I can ask one of you fine upstanding citizens to move it to a WA section please?

Hello Simon

FYI, From a legal stand point you the re-seller of the item can be held responcible for the distribution of product interstate for use in an illegal manner...

Many Ebay sellers are ouside the reach of State laws, hence they can send away and have no problems...

The laws for distribution of illegal items are similar to the RSA laws, and in this case your the licensee of the products distribution...

Not sure of the fines involved with radar detectors but if anything like liquior than you could look at up to $50,000 per offence...

So just FYI, I personally would not distribute outside WA... Cause it could wreak your life for ever...

    • Hah, fair enough! But if you learn with this one you can drive any other OEM manual. No modern luxury features like auto rev-matching or hillstart assist to give you a false sense of confidence. And a heavy car with not that much torque so it stalls easily.
    • Actually, I'd say all three are the automatic option. Just the different trim levels. The manual would be RSFS, no?
    • What Duncan said sounds right. Also, it looks like they only have the driver's mat. Not the rest. Because looking at the diagram: KG4911 is just the mat for the driver. KG4900 is the full set if I'm not mistaken and discontinued.   But, it looks like they may still have the full set for the manual S2. Might be worth checking for the other models as well as they seem slightly different. https://www.amayama.com/en/genuine-catalogs/epc/nissan-japan/stagea/wgnc34/6649-rb25det/misc/G49 Man, I'm tempted.
    • I dunno about that as a blanket statement. Pitwork is Nissan's "Nissan genuine" thing, and for stuff like timing belts, I have found them to be excellent. Of course, for things like oil filters, you always use proper trusted brands anyway, not whatever the OEM has taken to using.
    • Ahhhh... If you were putting 12V to the led in there, that's likely made it very unhappy. Chances are how you put power, was 12V across an LED that's meant to only have about 20mA through it at peak, and a forward voltage of about 1.8 to 2.4 volts. That circuit is likely only a 3V3 circuit, and will have a resistor in series with the led too. That's my guesstimate on that light, without having touched one.
