Amp Problems

i just put my old amp and sub in the back of the stagea this morning and the bloody protection light on the amp just keeps flickering.

ive done a search on google and all i get is check youre ground etc, but ive gone over that many times now and still cant get the thing to work for more than half a second, it just keeps cuting in and out. the only other answer ive got is something to do with what ohm the sub is if its too low the amp will go into protection to save it or somthing. but i dont think thats the case cause ive had this combo working in my old skyline just fine.

any one got any ideas, or no how to bypass the protection crap.

It's possible the inline fuse on the powersource is dodgy somehow. Where are you drawing power from to power the amp?

It's also possible your alternator just isnt up to the task of pwering your sound system.

If you have used the same amp and sub combo. Do you still use the same deck because the gain can be set different between models that have the RCA outlets you might have to much gain on the input of amp. Have you tried turning your gain down on amp. And another check is to see if your bridge wiring across the speaker terminals is correct. Check wiring diagram. The ohms shouldnt matter to much unless you are going below 2. And you might need a relay in series with the power supply. It could be drawing to much load from the circuit you used to power it up

Im sure the bridge is correctly wired, and the amp is getting good constant power and earth.

na im not using the same deck and i havnt had a look a changing settings there yet. ive turned everything down on the amp and that doesnt seem to effect anything so ill play around with the deck in the morn.\

Other thing could be a broken solder joint in the amp its self.

i had a play with deck settings and still cant get it to work right.

check all your fuses and connections mate i had a similar thing a while ago and happened to be a fuse
