Admittadly im not running a rising rate reg, but i surely wont be getting another 100rwkw out of just raising the pressure.

Can you get an extra 100+kw just by fitting a rising rate reg?

i would think that's quite optimistic.

And my replacement... looks something like a GT35/40 or something.

No. Sounds like your turbo is too small to get another 100rwkw anyway. It seems by the terminal and quoted power to be something around the size of a stock RB25 turbo.

I would obviously be adding more boost and what not.

Not just putting a reg on and expecting power.

And my turbo is most certainly not similar to that of a stock RB25 turbo, the 'quoted' power if you will... is on a quite low reading dyno.

Most R33's with 12psi (stock turbo) on the dyno in question would make 160-170rwkw... just to give you proportions.

Well, going off your terminal speed you aren't making anymore power than my R33 with a stock turbo on 10psi, given your car isn't any lighter than mine. That puts you around the 200rwkw mark on a properly calibrated dyno dynamics dyno in shootout mode.

Perhaps you are running too little boost to be within the turbo's efficency range?

*yawn* I am getting tired of repeating myself. I'm making 340hp (another car is making 350hp with a different turbo) and both of us are sitting on 70% injector cycle. I dont have a fuel reg just a bosch 910 fuel pump. neither of our cars seem like they are running out of fuel nor do the injectors report as being maxxed out, they are definately stock injectors as we had them out 2-3 weeks ago to be cleaned before we put the wolf3d v4 in.

That is more than likely...

we gave it a quick squirt on 15psi one day... and there was an instant 30kw gain up from 13psi.

But then they MAXED them out totally. (i do already have the bigger fuel pump)

Not worth me going a rising rate reg, so im getting bigger injectors anyhow.

But if rob77's are at 70%... and he has what 250rwkw.

it makes me wonder. Hrrmm...

Wat size are stock 33 injectors again?

and all these cars are all coming from perth!!

is there a bermuda triangle around there?

Is it possible the methods of measuring duty cycles are perhaps accounting for variations....

So schools in, how exactly are you measuring duty cycle when you say

I imagine the ECU is measuring the signal/injector pulse width and comparing that to the full range 100%.

Is it possible that somewhere in the Wolf ECU there is a calibration issue? (Pls dont sledge me...im asking a question, not questioning the quality of the Wolf)

Has anyone using a Power Fc, re-written ECU (mines etc), Autronic, Haltec, Microtech been able to see a similar duty cycle when tuning an R33 with stock injectors at approx 250rwkws.

Roy, I think if we were actually past the 100% duty cycle then the AFR's might start to show it:D I'm very confident it's accurate, it may have more to do with the injector drivers being particularly strong in comparison to other ECU's.

    • Bit of a pity we don't have good images of the back/front of the PCB ~ that said, I found a YT vid of a teardown to replace dicky clock switches, and got enough of a glimpse to realize this PCB is the front-end to a connected to what I'll call PCBA, and as such this is all digital on this PCB..ergo, battery voltage probably doesn't make an appearance here ; that is, I'd expect them to do something on PCBA wrt power conditioning for the adjustment/display/switch PCB.... ....given what's transpired..ie; some permutation of 12vdc on a 5vdc with or without correct polarity...would explain why the zener said "no" and exploded. The transistor Q5 (M33) is likely to be a digital switching transistor...that is, package has builtin bias resistors to ensure it saturates as soon as base threshold voltage is reached (minimal rise/fall time)....and wrt the question 'what else could've fried?' ....well, I know there's an MCU on this board (display, I/O at a guess), and you hope they isolated it from this scenario...I got my crayons out, it looks a bit like this...   ...not a lot to see, or rather, everything you'd like to see disappears down a via to the other side...base drive for the transistor comes from somewhere else, what this transistor is switching is somewhere else...but the zener circuit is exclusive to all this ~ it's providing a set voltage (current limited by the 1K3 resistor R19)...and disappears somewhere else down the via I marked V out ; if the errant voltage 'jumped' the diode in the millisecond before it exploded, whatever that V out via feeds may have seen a spike... ....I'll just imagine that Q5 was switched off at the time, thus no damage should've been done....but whatever that zener feeds has to be checked... HTH

    • Hah, fair enough! But if you learn with this one you can drive any other OEM manual. No modern luxury features like auto rev-matching or hillstart assist to give you a false sense of confidence. And a heavy car with not that much torque so it stalls easily. 
    • Actually, I'd say all three are the automatic option. Just the different trim levels. The manual would be RSFS, no?
