they are basically the same although the caliper is a different physical casting.

disc size the same

pad size the same

4 piston calipers with piston size the same

gtr ones are upgraded more often so they are cheaper and easier to find - but both are an excellent caliper and will be a big improvement over stock as long as your wheels clear them

Doesn't the gtr ones accept slightly thicker rotors as well? Also from the looks of it the brake lines are different, I had a set of r32 gtr calipers and there was a hard brake line which screwed into both the caliper then when I bought some r33 gtst calipers they were all soft lines, if that makes sense...

lol not sure about the value of the distinction

they are the "same" for all intents and purposes.

they take the same pads

they use the same mounts

they have the same size pistons

they weigh the same to within a few gm

they take the same size discs (you can run either 30 or 32mm thickness, you will find most aftermarket suppliers make 1 size for both)

they perform the same

32 gtr are easier to find

shane you are quite right about the 32 gtr hard piping but that can screw right out, then the same brake lines are used as the 33 gtst caliper.

Thanks for clearing that up for me :)

Learn something new everyday - thicker rotors ftw!

    • Does it also misfire equally when revving?   Josh is very correct in what you should do. The coilpack harness wiring loom itself is a known problem due to its age and the number of heat cycles it has gone through. Throwing parts at a vehicle to diagnose the issue isn't a smart or good way to do it. Secondly, you may have a bad coil pack, you pop replacements in, they fix that issue, but messing with the harness breaks it, so the issue persists. So now you think "well it wasn't the coil packs" and have to continue chasing your tail, potentially swapping back in your shit coil packs and returning the good ones (yes, I've seen people do this because 'it wasn't the problem' and they want to save money). And suddenly, you've got two issues with the same symptoms...   Diagnose, don't use the spare parts shotgun.
