Description: Cold air is in, and STILLEN can supply your G35 coupe or sedan with plenty of it. Long known as the leaders in Nissan/Infiniti performance tuning, STILLEN has introduced a Cold Air Intake System for the popular G35 coupe and sedan. Due to the different states of tune of each model, the intake adds 11horsepower at 6,100 RPM to the G35 Sedan and 5 ponies at 5,700 RPM to the Coupe. Comprised of a high-quality polyurethane intake port, washable and reusable cotton filter element, and STILLEN's signature Aluminum Venturi Ring, the Intake draws air from outside the engine bay. The venturi ring acts as a velocity stack, speeding up and directing the airflow into the intake chambers, making more useable and noticeable power. The Intake System also lends a more aggressive tone to the G35 when pressed, but remains unobtrusive at idle. Every magazine has been impressed with the G35's performance characteristics; and the STILLEN Cold Air Intake System is the perfect way to add an edge to yours.

and the word from the man, Tony from Riverside Infiniti

I have personally tested over 6 different intakes, and found that the JWT does not benefit performance wise over OEM w/K&N filter. The JWT heats up and the heat shield does not work.

The best intake I've tested as far as lowering intake temps consistantly is the Stillen cold air box w/Z tube. I'd recomend this to anyone, and use this on my 350Z actually. When compared to the JWT the stillen is significantly lower when looking at intake air temps during hot summer days etc...

These come pre-packaged in their own boxes, and as such we can only ship them out two per package realistically, each two would be a total of $450 shipped.

What I can do, and what I highly recomend, is to unpack them from their individual boxes, and I'll combine all the components in one package, and pack them differently. Doing this, I can get probably 4 intakes in the same sized package.

the total this way for 4-packed intakes would be $850 shipped.

This is $212.50 for each intake kit AFTER the shipping, when ordered in QTY of 4 together. (guys i have seen these around the $218 USD mark before shipping on other sellers websites! So your getting it cheaper than the US guys, as well as getting FREE shipping technically.......)

Again, shipped USPS like before.

This would be the most practical way to get them shipped overseas, the way stillen packages these is one kit at a time, and the box has a LOT of packing in it, so I can remove all of that extra packing, and re-pack these as mentioned above.

So whos in? After paying via paypal, and their shittier exchange rate, your looking at around $280 AUD for this Stillen Intake Delivered to 1 address in Sydney, where you will be required to pick it up. Keep in mind this does not come with a Z Tube you will need to purchase this separately.

I can set up this GB and run it, but i wont buy buying one this time around, as i am BROKE :P and trying to save money to go overseas!

I have opened this group buy to different states, however keep in mind will need to get the 1 package sent down to 1 nominated trustworthy person in each state who can distribute to the others. This is the best and only way to keep the price down.

Cheers

-Mark

If it is as good as Tony says I'll be keen. As I was looking at getting the JWT anyway so if the STILLEN is better, why not.

Anyone else from Melbourne interested?

Temped.

But for that price, I will probably make up my own with a larger funnel.

Closing as group buy is off.

As a reminder, when posting group buys please keep in mind that forum rules state you must have a start and end date. Even though this is not the For Sale section, I need to ensure you still go by forum rules, otherwise we will need to stop classified adds in the V35 section.

cheers

Bobby

    • Well, the trouble with that ^^ is: The configuration shown is absolutely a 1-way, not a 1.5-way. There is no way that a 1.5-way can be said to offer LSD action only on acceleration. If Nismo cannot get that right, then it is impossible to believe their documentation. That ^ is not a 1.5 way setup. That is a 1-way.   And so now I have allowed all doubts to flourish and have gone back to look at the MotoIQ video. I originally made the mistake of believing him when he said "this is a 1.5-way" at the ~6:10 mark. Because what he did was take the gear assembly out of the 2-way opening and just rotate it one place to the left to drop it into the 1-way opening. When he dropped it in there, the cam was "backwards" compared to the correct orientation shown in all other photos of that config. The flat shold have been facing the 1° ramp side of the opening, not the 55° ramp side. And I thought, "gee that's cute", but I was concerned at the time, when he put the other ring back on, that the gap between the rings looked like it was wider then in the 2-way config. And then I said a lot of things in my long post on Tuesday that could only make sense if the guy from MotoIQ was correct about what he'd done. BUT... I have now done my homework. I grabbed a frame of the video with the 2-way config, and then grabbed another with the "1.5-way" config, snipped out the cam and opening of that frame and just pasted it direct on top of the 2-way config. I scaled it so that the triangular opening was almost exactly the same height in both. AND.... the gap between the plates is wider with the cam installed in the triangualr opening backwards. That is.... it cannot go together that way. There would be massive force on the plates all the time, if you could even reassemble it.  So, My statement on the matter? The Nismo diff is actually only a 2-way and 1-way. There is no 1.5-way option in it, regardless of what they say. Here's a photo of a real 1.5-way ramp opening from Cusco (along with the 1 way option). And the full set of 1 through 2 way options from their racing diff, which is not same-same as what we'd typically be using, but...the cams work the same. A little blurry, but it comes from this Cusco doc, which is quite helpful. AND.... Cusco do in fact do what I suggested would be sensible, which is to have rings that do 1 and 1.5, and 1.5 and 2. Separately.
    • Welcome Adam. Car looks great!
    • "With a 1.5-WAY, the LSD is effective only during acceleration."
    • Well it wasn't as easy as I thought.... and it also wasn't in my original manual which I did end up finding. They discuss the process in the Nismo catalogue though and it requires slight machining. Page 145.  NISMO PARTS CATALOGUE 2020
    • I'm an idiot, my intercooler is rated for 1000hp. I had clicked on the wrong product. Knowing the delta P would be nice, but I'm doubtful I'll do it. Now as for an EMAP, that would be great and I'll get around to it eventually but from my findings in my last post, I'm considering a turbo swap now.
