What up muh peeps!!

I picked up a series 1 last night

Before i commence the RiaZ transformation i need a bit of help

i searched last night with no luck

the front bar indicators/park lights/driving lights (not sure which)

is spinning me out

I have seen 2 types

one has a larger orange indicator section and a small clear one

and the other is the one i have with a smaller orange indicator section and larger clear one.

Is this an indicator/park light or indicator/driving light

is there supposed to be a switch?

how does it all work?

is it just so it looks pretty?

anyone who can locate a thread please put up a link if it helps answer these questions

second thing is has anyone got any spare mounts for installing a stereo? (the factory brackets used to connect to hold the deck in the console are missing)

or if anyone has some lying around that I can look at to make my own brackets that would be fantastic

oh yeah 1 more thing

clutches

do 93 r33 clutches wear so the engaging is at the floor or higher up

thanks

i am sure there are plenty of series 1 owners who know all these answers

RiaZ

i was also wondering about the front indicators... (r33 s1 aswell)

but i figured it out...all by myself... :D

haha

anyway this is what i know:

Park lights are on the outside of the headlights.

Frontbar indicators are yellow with a clear bit next to them as as far as i can tell the clear bit does **** all and is just show..

i dont have fog lights or anything in them although chuckin some lights in there for some foggy's could be the go

my 2 cents hopefully it helps...

well from what i'v seen on "most" lines is that those light in the indactors do a whole lot of nothing series 2 and series 1

but in some cases they do have a switch if you look where u turn your lights on (indactor arm) there should be the normal switch for turning lights on in some cases there is another similar switch right behind this one for turning these lights on i'll take a digi pic later and post it

i know about the stalk cos i had a series II before and those do a whole lotta something which is fine.

back to the front bar indicators very annoying... and there definately is 2 different types with like I said a larger and smaller clear section next to the indicator.

maybe its just spares that have been thrown in from another r33 that did have lights

in that case i see some missle switch action. test wires for what wattage bulbs they will support and bobs gonna be my uncle

umm paul tis true the fun has begun already

i will holla at ya for sure

anyways next and most importantly is the stereo bracket.

need tunes arrrghhhh

its been less than 24 hours since music in the car...the world is gonna end.

anyways next week i should be at kwinana seeing what abuse this car will take considering the clutch is not standard.

oh yeah someone answer the clutch question

hey riaz

heres some threads that might help u out

http://www.skylinesaustralia.com/forums/sh...ighlight=lights

and in the bottom of that thread theres another link.

what colour is your car dude? what engine mods? :D

good2c u got another 'line.

Yeah, you're probably right. The bumper may have been replaced with a 2nd hand one that came with driving lights (what you have).

Don't forget the relays. Should work ok.

Don't have the bracket but you can have my factory double din stereo if you want. Use it to make a bracket or just jam it in there.

oh yeah someone answer the clutch question

Need more info, do you think the friction point is too high or too low right now? Come around and I'll have a test drive :(.

thanks for the offer gradenko

i might be round in a fortnight i think once the kit is on

if WORKS AUTO do me a good price

also the thread BOO5T is exactly the thread i read a while back and was looking for, so glad you found it, i was getting hell annoyed

I am going to rip the bar off etc and see what goes where and what i can do to those lights. like up the relays and stick some brighter lights in, as long as the plastic can handle it

umm the stereo brackets are $11.50 from nissan (EACH)

so I might just fork and buy some cos its too much stuffing around, then i will need one of those dual diversity antenna adaptors as well.

also anyone selling any 6x9's cheap, lemme know otherwise i will have to tap into my resources.

i can't believe series 1's are like so different in the small little things

1 more thing, is anyone selling a series II wing here in Perth

oh rofl rofl

pantene paul

man that is seriously gonna stick

Umm if i dont have the factory solenoid for the boost control and there is the line going from the wastegate to the air intake.....what does this mean for boost.

fark i hate modded cars

i havent learnt all this stuff yet and now its all done to the car

anyone....boost guage for sale at all?

2" size

    • The time is always correct. Only the date is wrong. It currently thinks it is January 19. Tomorrow it will say it is January 20. The date and time are ( should be ! ) retrieved from the GPS navigation system.
    • Buy yourself a set of easy outs. See if they will get a good bite in and unthread it.   Very very lucky the whole sender didn't let go while on the track and cost you a motor!
    • Well GTSBoy, prepare yourself further. I did a track day with 1/2 a day prep on Friday, inpromptu. The good news is that I got home, and didn't drive the car into a wall. Everything seemed mostly okay. The car was even a little faster than it was last time. I also got to get some good datalog data too. I also noticed a tiny bit of knock which was (luckily?) recorded. All I know is the knock sensors got recalibrated.... and are notorious for false knock. So I don't know if they are too sensitive, not sensitive enough... or some other third option. But I reduced timing anyway. It wasn't every pull through the session either. Think along the lines of -1 degree of timing for say, three instances while at the top of 4th in a 20 minute all-hot-lap session. Unfortunately at the end of session 2... I noticed a little oil. I borrowed some jack stands and a jack and took a look under there, but as is often the case, messing around with it kinda half cleaned it up, it was not conclusive where it was coming from. I decided to give it another go and see how it was. The amount of oil was maybe one/two small drops. I did another 20 minute session and car went well, and I was just starting to get into it and not be terrified of driving on track. I pulled over and checked in the pits and saw this: This is where I called it, packed up and went home as I live ~20 min from the track with a VERY VERY CLOSE EYE on Oil Pressure on the way home. The volume wasn't much but you never know. I checked it today when I had my own space/tools/time to find out what was going on, wanted to clean it up, run the car and see if any of the fittings from around the oil filter were causing it. I have like.. 5 fittings there, so I suspected one was (hopefully?) the culprit. It became immediately apparent as soon as I looked around more closely. 795d266d-a034-4b8c-89c9-d83860f5d00a.mp4       This is the R34 GTT oil sender connected via an adapter to an oil cooler block I have installed which runs AN lines to my cooler (and back). There's also an oil temp sensor on top.  Just after that video, I attempted to unthread the sensor to see if it's loose/worn and it disintegrated in my hand. So yes. I am glad I noticed that oil because it would appear that complete and utter catastrophic engine failure was about 1 second of engine runtime away. I did try to drill the fitting out, and only succeeded in drilling the middle hole much larger and now there's a... smooth hole in there with what looks like a damn sleeve still incredibly tight in there. Not really sure how to proceed from here. My options: 1) Find someone who can remove the stuck fitting, and use a steel adapter so it won't fatigue? (Female BSPT for the R34 sender to 1/8NPT male - HARD to find). IF it isn't possible to remove - Buy a new block ($320) and have someone tap a new 1/8NPT in the top of it ($????) and hope the steel adapter works better. 2) Buy a new block and give up on the OEM pressure sender for the dash entirely, and use the supplied 1/8 NPT for the oil temp sender. Having the oil pressure read 0 in the dash with the warning lamp will give me a lot of anxiety driving around. I do have the actual GM sensor/sender working, but it needs OBD2 as a gauge. If I'm datalogging I don't actually have a readout of what the gauge is currently displaying. 3) Other? Find a new location for the OEM sender? Though I don't know of anywhere that will work. I also don't know if a steel adapter is actually functionally smart here. It's clearly leveraged itself through vibration of the motor and snapped in half. This doesn't seem like a setup a smart person would replicate given the weight of the OEM sender. Still pretty happy being lucky for once and seeing this at the absolute last moment before bye bye motor in a big way, even if an adapter is apparently 6 weeks+ delivery and I have no way to free the current stuck/potentially destroyed threads in the current oil block.
    • Literally looks like direct port nitrous haha
