Me too!

slipping bag hey, limited boot space. how much booze u bringing with ya? couple of kegs.

the cars gota back seat too

1 litre of bourbon and a couple 2 litre bottles of coke zero will have me sorted for 2 nights in a row

taking my laptop and my nextG connection too so i can upload pics of the show to the forum as it happens - i just hope there are enough people taking pictures, as i wont be bringing any fancy cameras (aside from my phone)...

im considering asking my detailer to drive up to loxton the day before so he can detail my car and possibly others - naturally I'd need several people to make it worth his while, and he does full car details for between $50 and $200 depending on how detailed u need it... i'll probably end up driving up friday arvo so i can get there several hours before sundown... maybe have a bbq on the river for anyone else driving up on the friday too

if ur keen on this idea, pm me asap

-D

depends on what he charges I guess.........and unlike a car, probably wouldn't have a set rate me thinks.

i couldnt imagine your bike taking more than an hour to detail

when he did my car last year before the berri show he was at my place at 10am on sunday and left at 4pm and charged $200 and i was very very happy with the blokes work

it depends if u want interior clean, exterior clean, exterior polish, underbody detailing... he doesnt do engine bay details but knows some folks who do... my engine bay aint interesting so i never bothered

I wouldn't worry about my paint cause I can do that in 5 minutes.

The combination of chrome, polished alloy and polished stainless steel is what takes so long so its just one kind of polish that he would use......the hard to get to fiddly bits are what take so long though.

Always a lot quicker when there's 2 or 3 polishing at the same time.......even then would probably take an hour to do it properly.

true, no reason why more than one person can detail a car at a time, would be good to have a pro on side tho, with the right solutions and towels. ill call his this week and see if hes interested

personally, i am of the opinion that whatever has been started, must be finished.

I agree but we can't force anyone to do anything.

If someone has to pick up the slack, I'm as good as anyone. So far after reading thru the thread, it looks like the attendance will be as follows.

How many of you guys have already booked accomodation? I'm sorted at the Hotel and there might be one more room for any stragglers. If you're going up there, please let me know your plans as per Ruby's earlier post :

a) drive up on friday, stay for 2 nights and drive back sun

b) drive up on friday, stay one night, drive back saturday night

c) drive up saturday morning and drive home the same day

I've done C) before but it wasn't as enjoyable as I thought it would be, thats why I'm going for option A).

Got a few organisational questions ; What kind of SAU/SAU-SA motifs have we got? DO we have some kind of gazebo or tent? I'll probably cook brekky for anyone interested on the saturday morning, but you'd have to be up and at em early in the morning

If I get an FM transmitter, how many people would be interested in tuning their cars into the same station and creating a massive, mega, multi car boom box?

-D

dohmar feast ftw, all hail king doh

i aint gota room yet, seen as we all being pussys n not camping

anyone wanna spoon with me?

ok so dion, nightcrawler, sled, myself have got confirmed bookings

anyone else on that list finalized your accomodation? Am curious to see how many people will be staying at the hotel. up a bit from the hotel is the river and no doubt a bbq somewhere, so I'm thinking of kicking a bacon and egg fried brekky. bring your own coronary bypass.

also would like to know how many are keen on getting the detailing done up there...

regarding music, it'll be a family day and we dont want to give the club any bad PR so there won't be any profanity, gangsta rap or death metal... I'd welcome suggestions but I've got a fair idea of what I can do... I know that most people wont be able to pump their stereos all day so I'm thinking a couple hours in the morning and a couple hours in the arvo. I'll bring my battery charger incase anyone goes low but if you dont have a deep cycle battery I wouldnt advise it. We wouldnt have it cranked loud as ew dont want to be obnoxious, but having a few cars in the display playing music would be a great display of coordination.

also, I've been playing around with photoshop, making an a3 plaque of the specifics of my car. here is a very draft mockup...

Anyone else want something similar made up? I'm not sure of printing or framing costs tho

    • @Haggerty you still haven't answered my question.  Many things you are saying do not make sense for someone who can tune, yet I would not expect someone who cannot tune to be playing with the things in the ECU that you are.  This process would be a lot quicker to figure out if we can remove user error from the equation.
    • If as it's stalling, the fuel pressure rises, it's saying there's less vacuum in the intake manifold. This is pretty typical of an engine that is slowing down.   While typically is agree it sounds fuel related, it really sounds fuel/air mixture related. Since the whole system has been refurbished, including injectors, pump, etc, it's likely we've altered how well the system is delivering fuel. If someone before you has messed with the IACV because it needed fiddling with as the fuel system was dieing out, we need to readjust it back. Getting things back to factory spec everywhere, is what's going to help the entire system. So if it idles at 400rpm with no IACV, that needs raising. Getting factory air flow back to normal will help us get everything back in spec, and likely help chase down any other issues. Back on IACV, if the base idle (no IACV plugged in) is too far out, it's a lot harder for the ECU to control idle. The IACV duty cycle causes non linear variations in reality. When I've tuned the idle valves in the past, you need to keep it in a relatively narrow window on aftermarket ecus to stop them doing wild dances. It also means if your base idle is too low, the valve needs to open too much, and then the smallest % change ends up being a huge variation.
    • I guess one thing that might be wrong is the manifold pressure.  It is a constant -5.9 and never moves even under 100% throttle and load.  I would expect it to atleast go to 0 correct?  It's doing this with the OEM MAP as well as the ECU vacuum sensor. When trying to tune the base map under load the crosshairs only climb vertically with RPM, but always in the -5.9 column.
    • AHHHH gotchaa, I'll do that once I am home again. I tried doing the harness with the multimeter but it seems the car needed a jump, there was no power when it was in the "ON" position. Not sure if I should use car battery jump starter or if its because the stuff that has been disconnect the car just does send power.
    • As far as I can tell I have everything properly set in the Haltech software for engine size, injector data, all sensors seem to be reporting proper numbers.  If I change any injector details it doesnt run right.    Changing the base map is having the biggest change in response, im not sure how people are saying it doesnt really matter.  I'm guessing under normal conditions the ECU is able to self adjust and keep everything smooth.   Right now my best performance is happening by lowering the base map just enough to where the ECU us doing short term cut of about 45% to reach the target Lambda of 14.7.  That way when I start putting load on it still has high enough fuel map to not be so lean.  After 2500 rpm I raised the base map to what would be really rich at no load, but still helps with the lean spots on load.  I figure I don't have much reason to be above 2500rpm with no load.  When watching other videos it seems their target is reached much faster than mine.  Mine takes forever to adjust and reach the target. My next few days will be spent making sure timing is good, it was running fine before doing the ECU and DBW swap, but want to verify.  I'll also probably swap in the new injectors I bought as well as a walbro 255 pump.
