Just picked up the horse float for the steel horse (hrmm, reminds me of a Bon Jovi song) and gotta cut the floor for some tie down cleats followed by the monster task of turning all that fiddly chrome into a mirror........I'm so over it and haven't even started yet cause of all the work that I need to clear first!! :D

Krishy, I've been told that your entrance was paid as well as abes from cara. Since Cara is no longer involved, you should give Stuart a call in regards to this. While I'm not responsible for co-ordinating entrants payment of the show, I would say that perhaps not all items were posted on the same day and that you might get yours on Monday. If not, call Stuart - I know Cara has confirmed on his behalf that they have recieved both yours and Abes entry fees - did you lodge the form with it? In either case, the entry fees and forms are your responsibility and you should follow this up directly with stuart.

Southies should probably follow Sled and Shane

Northies should meet the majority of the pack at Bunnings carpark parafield airport at 12:30 for a 1pm departure after distribution of 2 way radios and plans and a quick word from myself...we'll drive to gawler via heaslip road and then head up to loxton via the barossa bypass route. We'll be keeping to the speed limit 100%, and I'll expect everyone to keep a healthy distance from the man in front so we dont end up chipping our cars on the way up.... the difference between 110kph and 140kph in most cases is only a 5-10 minute difference, and i'm not keen on a speeding fine just to save a few minutes...

on sour news, i hit a spoon drain, 24 hours after picking up my gtr with the spoiler lip fitted and teins fitted.... seems that the teins cant stop the lip from hitting shit... scraped the underside and cracked 2 parts on the front *sigh*

Krishy you should get yours Monday...hopefully, as i got mine on Friday.

I'm not sure which way I'll go, I'm South (Aldinga), and whereis.com.au is saying the fastest/shortest way is to head north to Salisbury, Nurioopta, Blanchetown, then onto Loxton. Hmmm, to leave at 1pm or 2pm...

Shame to hear about the front lip Ben, after all that was done.

You'd probably be better off joining sled and shane. pm them for meeting details.

whereis calculates miles travelled rather than the amount of time you'll spend at the traffic lights. you'll probably get there sooner than us if you follow pete and shane....

however if you're happy to do a bit of a hike, meet us at bunnings and grab a 2 way radio

Travelmate Online:

Gawler to Loxton = 205km, 2hr 43min

Murray Bridge to Loxton = 176km, 2hr 20min

Suppose it depends where you live and how long it takes you to get to either Gawler or Murray Bridge....from my home it's 1 hr either way, (MB is 20km further but no stop lights & has less traffic).

So total km for me would be approx the same either way yet I save almost 1/2 hr off my journey with less traffic to dodge. :)

Succinctly put. If you're north of the CBD, meet at bunnings

If you're south, speak to Pete (SLED) and go via the less travelled route - I myself would prefer the MB route but it would add an hour to my travel cause im in the North East...

Havent yet, Dan has a relative down there so i may try and organise something there.

I may have somewhere you could sleep. I am in the Riverview Motel Suite, apparently it has 1 x double bed 1 x single bed and 2 fold out single divan. I got the double, my mate i am taking has got the single....and then the 2 fold outs, we shall see what happens :P, you may need your own linen/sleeping bag if you sleep on the fold out.

Good thinking - make sure if u get any extra guests u let the hotel staff know and pay the extra.. would hate to see u guys kicked out for staging a gay orgy :D

and dion, its quicker in distance but theres a lot more traffic lights to go thru - we'll call a vote on the day n see what people wanna do...

    • Hi, SteveL Thank you very much for your reply, you seem to be the only person on the net who has come up with a definitive answer for which I am grateful. The "Leak" was more by way of wet bubbles when the pedal was depressed hard by a buddy while trying to gey a decent pedal when bleeding the system having fitted the rebuilt BM50 back in the car, which now makes perfect sense. A bit of a shame having just rebuilt my BM50, I did not touch the proportioning valve side of things, the BM50 was leaking from the primary piston seal and fluid was running down the the Brake booster hence the need to rebuild, I had never noticed any fluid leaking from that hole previously it only started when I refitted it to the car. The brake lines in the photo are "Kunifer" which is a Copper/Nickel alloy brake pipe, but are only the ones I use to bench bleed Master cylinders, they are perfectly legal to use on vehicles here in the UK, however the lines on the car are PVF coated steel. Thanks again for clearing this up for me, a purchase of a new BMC appears to be on the cards, I have been looking at various options in case my BM50 was not repairable and have looked at the HFM BM57 which I understand is manufactured in Australia.
    • Well the install is officially done. Filled with fluid and bled it today, but didn't get a chance to take it on a test drive. I'll throw some final pics of the lines and whatnot but you can definitely install a DMAX rack in an R33 with pretty minor mods. I think the only other thing I had to do that isn't documented here is grind a bit of the larger banjo fitting to get it to clear since the banjos are grouped much tighter on the DMAX rack. Also the dust boots from a R33 do not fit either fyi, so if you end up doing this install for whatever reason you'll need to grab those too. One caveat with buying the S15 dust boots however is that the clamps are too small to fit on the R33 inner tie rod since they're much thicker so keep the old clamps around. The boots also twist a bit when adjusting toe but it's not a big deal. No issues or leaks so far, steering feels good and it looks like there's a bit more lock now than I had before. Getting an alignment on Saturday so I'll see how it feels then but seems like it'll be good to go
    • I don't get in here much anymore but I can help you with this.   The hole is a vent (air relief) for the brake proportioning valve, which is built into the master cylinder.    The bad news is that if brake fluid is leaking from that hole then it's getting past the proportioning valve seals.   The really bad news is that no spare parts are available for the proportioning valve either from Nissan or after market.     It's a bit of a PITA getting the proportioning valve out of the master cylinder body anyway but, fortunately, leaks from that area are rare in my experience. BTW, if those are copper (as such) brake lines you should get rid of them.    Bundy (steel) tube is a far better choice (and legal  in Australia - if that's where you are).
