Although this meet is suggested to be Heathcote, is there any point meeting up there if there aren't going to be a significant number of people running?

I won't be able to confirm that I'm running until late Thurs or Fri that I'm running and besides that, noone else has shown interest in heading up this weekend.

It is a long way to go to meet up with people if no one is going to run.

It maybe a good idea still to have the meet closer to Melb or postpone the meet for 1 wk and have it on the 9/11.

well, me and my mate are going to heathcote if the weather is at all looking decent, as it might be my last chance to give my car a run there.

If not club meet i will be..

although:

Trend for Friday, Saturday and Sunday

Rain then showers. Cool.

and people are wondering why i want to move out of melbourne!

Weather for the weekend isn't looking very promising. Heathcote is a fun day out, but a bit far for people just keen in attending a meeting.

So... we have 2-options:

Postpone the meeting for a week so that Heathcote competitors are able to attend, or have it on the Saturday (1st Nov) to ccoincide with AKTs go-cart event.

What do people think?

I was thinking Saturday 8th November for a cruise/meeting to Emerald Lake (in Emerald) - is nice drive, you can see Puffing Billy, and hopefully the weather shall improve. Thoughts?

Saturday is better i think. Better check that go-kart thread

Emerald is a good idea for a cruise , it will be a fairly sedate one due to weekend traffic though. Its nice up there. I used to live near belgrave.. except i think the billys they were puffing were of a different type :)

I would really like to come along but I will be in Tasmania with my family for 5 days, and my 'line is getting a new single pice 3 inch SS exhaust over the long weekend.

I am really interested and will make every effort to come to the next one so please keep me posted.

Thanks

Well some thoughts from a newbie, what is actually the aim of a "club meet" I take it it's establish some form of a Vic club? If so, who's going to run it etc, someone will need to take the lead etc etc. Anyone done anything similar? is there someone from the site or tune shop or something etc etc? Think it would be worth sorting a few things out before everyone just rocks up.

That aside a cruz to emrald sounds good to me, nice drive. could meet at sky high then to emrald. If the track day at the Island is on Saturday, how about sunday. Also, how many are actually going to the isl? I thought it was a HSV day or something anyway...?

iNCOGNiTO we have had some "higher power" meetings in the past to get the bases on what to incorporate in an open meet such as this (sounds like i know what im saying eh? ;)) so rest assured there would be a "game plan" set out for this.

and on that note i am busy this month, every day and weekend :)

Sounds good to me.

Un-sure if i can make it, but if i can... i WILL be there :)

And iNCOGNiTO, as Dox said.

There is a game plan... quite well done too for a few average skyline owners ;)

    • Absolute f*cking nightmare. I had to take breaks constantly, and I was always pissed off when I got home. The line split in Italy on day 2 (we drove from the Netherlands), lol. Driving any narrow European town was... well, sh*t.   Appreciate it man. Here, I'll just drop a favourite from the load I took on Saturday.   I'll update here when things happen with the car, the thing is, with stock power and almost everything chassis-wise taken care of, there really are no problems. 268,000kms now and counting.
    • Ah! I actually managed to snag a lightly used set.... that aren't so suitable for me right now. They don't work on a GTT without some cutting or creative heat moulding. I thought about reselling them myself cause I didn't want to murder them, but it looks like I'm probably going to attempt to murder them/melt them because I may as well. @GTSBoy @PranK can somebody close this thread?
    • Hey mate,  I have a set, one is slightly damaged but wont be noticable once installed.  Shoot me a message if your still after them
    • I couldn't wait But, the black constant tension hose clamps were too thick and there wasn't enough clearance at the T/B and I couldn't get it to seat properly, so I had use a silver one there I also added some 3" silicone over the alloy bit that goes through to hole on the radiator support as it looked like it was sitting on the edge of the hole in the radiator support, I never noticed a rattle or anything, but there was a witness mark It is basicly done, and I can live with the silver hose clamp at the T/B, I will get a black clamp for the head vent though where it is attached to the bulkhead fitting  It never stops...LOL, only issue now with the shock tower brace is it slightly touches the under bonnet liner now, if I leave it it will either wear some paint off the brace where it touches, or damage the liner, so I removed the liner to see what I have to work with, with the liner removed I have about 20mm of clearance, but sadly the middle part of the underside of the bonnet is only dusted with paint and looks crap, so I cannot have that, but.... as I have a roll of Carbuilders premium under bonnet insulation in the garage laying around that is only 5.5mm thick (we were going to use it on the boys Patrol, but he crashed the front of it a few months and it was written off, hence why he now drives my old Honda Accord Euro), I'll use the OEM liner as a template and get the Carbuilders stuff fitted up to cover that dusted paint up
