The 260 is the same Luke, i've already had one discussion with a police officer about the fact he implied i had hidden BOV's and that they must be aftermarket. I still dont think he believed me even after i explained that they were stock and in the factory location.

And there in lies the problem, he didnt know what he was looking at and if he wanted he could have sent me to regency for them to confirm it, fortunately he was reasonable and let it go.

I'm sure the 260 is the same. Funnily enough I've had the same argument with an officer, with him deeming to be my BOV's to be aftermarket. I kindly explained they weren't and that it was the factory location for the 26 BOV's to be. He let me go too luckily

I think alot of us will needing to be doing the same thing in the near future! No point in trying to hide anything these days cos they are allowed to look and you will no doubt end up in more trouble for trying to conceal it!

yeah i removed all the suspect stuff from my gtr. And while I did remove the big gauge that was mounted to my dash (which was in bar) I replaced it with a much smaller one that fits where the clock used to be, and that one reads in -mmhg and +psi (up to 25psi).. cost a bit to get the interior back to normal after removing the dodgy stuff (loads of screw holes and glue marks) but it looks pretty much back to stock now, no holes

-D

Yeah I also removed my turbo timer weekend before last. I'm trying to keep it all legal, just so I dont need to worry when I get pulled over etc. Im not paranoid, I just dont want to drive a cop magnet should things continue the way they seem to be going.

Stock boost, 17's with no spacers, stock ride height, stock BOV in place, sub box in boot bolted down

3" turbo back stainless xforce system - I dare say its quiet enough.

The only thing is my pod, it is secured by the divider/heat shield (never driven on the road without it), so if that isnt in place pod isnt secure, does this need looking it?

17's sitting out the guards, roll centre located somewhere in china, reasonably loud turbo back exhaust that pops like crazy, no bov, fixed back seat...

... least my gauges are legal. :P

Win! When comes the new turbo?

went and looked at one today. its being taken down to mtq tomorrow to be properly checked out. another week. tops. itll be rolling not long after i get back from melbourne.

I liked how the Comissioner, Mal Hyde said that the squad will be gaining intelligence before acting.

1) Google the car club

2) Look on their events section

3) Bust nuts

Shit, i didnt even have to go to uni to figure that one out..

Buy my 31 if you want to be legal!

I havn't meet a smart officer that knew what he was talking about thus far,

One officer thought my front mount intercooler on my VLCT was a trans cooler? :)

They're always going to be one step behind naturally but ohwell good luck to them I just hope they do keep to the hoons and not the modded cars that follow road traffic laws.

What really annoys me is that they say 'Hotted up street cars' Blah Blah Blah - But really they're cooner VN's that rip single peggers that congrigate in large numbers and at most maybe a VX SS which are genuinly stock but they make out they're modded off their chops and the ones that are genuinly modded and dont engage in bullsh!t activites such as the ones the cooner fpos commodores engage in look really bad and we should feel guilty about modding our cars.

This is so fcvked up - Driving us enthusiests further and futher underground... Arguing this situation and discussing it is like beating your head against a brick wall because you make no progress and it just gets worse and worse..

Im not going to bother with gauges etc just get a EBC, hide it somewhere and leave it at a set boost level so I don't need to monitor it and anything abnormal happening should be readable from the standard gauge.

i got told i cannot have a pod filter on my car today..

and got done for sub not bolted down, pod filter (aftermarket), battery in boot (didnt say anything about the surge tank and ext fuel pump),

nor said anything about my CA18DET in the rolla!

but still sent me to regency!

lol. Dont know why im bothering. but for what its worth.

I heard some old bag with no idea stating that 'kids parents are buying them these 45000, 50K weapons' . since when did a silvia cost that much ? You think Im gonna go nuts into corners and slice my expensive tyres on the weekends ? come on

Wow, that cars rooted then, gonna bother taking it to standard again or just keep it as a track pig?

Pod filters are fine just bolt the kent down with some sort of bracket.

Sub only has to be bolted down if it is a hatch back vehicle.

Surge tank and ext fuel pump should be fine I dare say, Battery in the boot to be legal it has to be a vented battery such as the ones R33's use.

Put it through regency and only fix what they say mate and if all is too hard track pig FTW or swap... ... plate... huh what? :)

Agree with everything youve said Ben

Especially the innocent until proven guilty.

and I bet that battery aint as bad as mine :)

LOL, well atleast this battery will charge up again Craig, yours is ready for recycling! :)

Sorry to hear mate, but as stated above, as long as the pod filter is mounted solidly with a bracket then its legal. Im very suprised they didnt say anything bout the fuel system though! We sell sub box staps at work that screw to the box and then to the car and they have a clip in the middle you can undo if you need to get the box out the way!

damn ... sorry to hear about the rolla... was dying too see it! track pig :D

yeah got next week off gonna take off my turbo timer :domokun: also thinking bout painting my cooler and piping black... even tho it would kill the bling factor of the car. would still look ok maybe. also gotta replace my bov's( getting soft and chatting way too much). gonna get something thats still plumback but a bit stiffer and fresh (any ideas?). would this be legal? and would after market coil packs be illegal?

    • Ok I get you. But isn’t the butterfly intake a headache with the +T?  see this is my plan so far but please advise me into the right direction.  Nistune Ecu, 1000cc Bosch injectors, TD05 or TD06 Kinugawa turbo using stock rb25det exhuast manifold, walbro fuel pump unsure of model I think it’s 450/460, spitfire coils and sparks to suit and a R35 MAF sensor and boost sensor.    I was thinking maybe do a cheap eBay plenum $400-500 or try find a stock det neo intake. I think I’d port match it so it’s getting the full capacity but open to advice please.  Thanks
    • The issue now is the 'fuel cut' while driving, and when it happend, it does not stall. This, I did not test the fuel pressure while driving as I cannot with a fuel pressure gauge. I do have Nistune logs, yes. I have also replaced the MAF Sensor.   Also related to the FPG Fuel Hanger – I just realized that I need a Deutsch Crimp Tool to crimp some cables for the FPG Fuel Hanger. Need to purchase additional cables as the kit only included 2, which are for the float. FPG has not responded to my emails so far since purchasing. I thought about taking it to someone and having it done professionally, but I am reluctant since everyone I took it to messed up in some way.
    • There's a good German place in Brisbane if youre up for the drive 😛
    • The German place in Cabramatta was rock solid, fresh pretzel cooked to order back then. Then it went all quiet, after all the poker machines were removed, then I believe it closed for good. I did drive past the other week and noticed outdoor lighting a big screen, but no idea what is there now.
    • Yeah I suspect even if you hold airmass per cycle/cylinder constant if you get too far away from stock you're still going to have problems running the factory tune within the bounds of the factory load scale. Cams, different displacement/rod ratio, etc. I'm just lucky that the GTIII-SS with wastegate boost + CA compliance cats is pretty much equivalent to stock turbos. When I have actual space I can finally get it tuned and modify the fuel system for flex fuel to 100% handle any detonation concerns when cranking the boost to whatever those dinky turbos can put out.
