What's the go with the radios in these? I can't tune anything over 90.0 - aftermarket mod required here or a setting I haven't noticed?

Shouldn't need to.

Just tune and listen to identify the station, then assign it to a memory preset number.

Can't you just fold down the rear seats to fit both dogs (that way they can both hang their heads out the windows)?

The shepherd is a security dog and when someone riles him up he'll redirect his frustration to my seats as he knows I won't release him (as I am obviously not there) unless he is caged. We rile him up intentionally at training and without fail if I leave my car with him in it some moron knocks on the window.

That and the Husky is aggressive so they can't be together.

Never thought of doing that.

I found where ABC local radio is and JJJ so I don't need any other stations but was curious.

Thanks.

if its a dealer they are obliged to repair problems. thats part of getting a dealer licence!

Oh, that's strange.. Have bought two imports in two states, neither has had a working CD, but both had working radio and tape. Neither unit was fixed under warranty, but both cars had other items replaced such as milometer and items needed for Vic RWC.

maybe its a NSW thing. my car went back for small things, but the car was brought into the country like that. its a dealer warranty and in NSW its trouble for them if they dont fix things - within reason of course. and anything that is reported but not fixed and is still a problem. even outside that 3 months warranty they should fix it. thats the problem im having with where i got my car from. that said i only threatened legal problems for them and they backed down and have agreed to have a 3rd party repair the car.....

The guys I got it from actually said to me as I was taking it "If anything isn't working bring it back and we'll fix it" - I only just remembered, so I guess if I took it back they'll fix it regardless but like I said, mine was working when I took it as I listened to a cd on the way home.

as I have been saying run the thing past here! I fix them! (the radio.) as for the F3 code - laser or drive gear to laser or spindle motor. the all stuff up in some way shape or form. if its a warranty item with GS (and they cover it) tell them to send the car here and I'll fix it. easy. as for the FM band thats correct - 76.0-90.0. I'm working on a retuned solution for them but for now a band expander fixes it.

shoot me a PM if you do not follow or have a question :P

Thanks Chris.

I'll contact GS tonight/tomorrow and find out. I need you to install cruise control & an alarm into it in a few weeks so will hopefully get it done at the same time if they want to cover it and ditto to the band expander - I can get JJJ but I want ABC local radio which unfortunately is 90.3 :P

  • 1 month later...

yep. have to be. too many of them come in dead. I'm working on a MP3 solution for them as well. mave the mech here for it - yet to find time to drop it under a 2613 (2004 V35 radio.) . forget 2003 as the whole thing is different.

    • You know how your car rolled through a fence in your last jacking escapade? Scissor jacks increase the likely hood of that sort of thing happening immensely!

    • Just trying to get my head around this. At 5psi of boost, you turn on your wmi pump, and then you're using a 3000cc injector, to allow flow upto the actual engine, where you have your 6x200cc injectors and a 500cc injector. If the above is correct, what advantage are you obtaining by having the 3000cc injector blocking flow, is this just incase a line breaks between that injector and the motor you can stop flow immediately? Or are the 6x200cc and 500cc less injectors and just spray nozzle?
    • Welcome! New member myself, but I had an R33 back in 2002. Best advice I could give, based on my experience: if you're running the factory turbo, be very conservative with boost. I made the mistake of just fiddling around with the boost controller and cranking the boost for fun, and the end result was my intake pipes popping off frequently from the constant deluge of oil that was being blown into the recirc by the stressed-out turbo, which itself was siphoning oil from the engine and farting it out both sides of its centre bearing (or something to that effect). If I could do it all again, I would have gotten a new turbo and had a tune dialled in professionally and then just left it alone! Funny you mention the metal shavings in the gearbox, as I had the same thing - the probe plug (magnetic drain plug, essentially) would come out caked with shavings. At least it was doing its job. Not sure if that's just sacrificial wear and part of the deal, or if my gearbox was shagged, but I wasn't abusing it. Enjoy the R33 - they're a dying breed, and if they weren't $35k+ on CarSales in Queensland, I might have picked up one of those again, instead of the 370GT I own now (though I'm loving the 370GT, that big 3.7L V6 just hits different).
    • Howdy folks. I owned an R33 back in 2002, which was thoroughly beyond my capacity (financially speaking) to maintain/insure, so we parted ways in 2004. Fast forward 21 years (to literally yesterday, in fact) and I'm now the proud owner of a 2007 V36 370GT. I'm happily surprised by how much power the VQ37VHR makes, compared to the RB25DET, considering the latter is turbocharged. I had planned to add a turbo at some point but I'm on the fence about whether I'll even need it (though I do love the sudden onset of extra torque). Any other 370GT owners around the traps, I'd love to hear about your experiences with this car (good and bad).
