I dont think we will see skylines in australia for a few years yet. When they do come out they are gonna be pricey too. Lets just hope they do eventually, but if they dont I am not too worried. As long as the import laws behave.

hehe i was expecting "nissan to lauch skyline into space" or sumfin.

So we'll be gettin wat seems to be the nissan equivalent of the LanEvo8 (or as I prefer to call it the 7.5 coz its not much different to the 7). Also is it gonna be called Nissan or Infinty as we don't have an infinty brand in australia, do we?

And you had the air con on - and Doc was with you too !

Yes, Yes, you chopped B-Man. But never again - Now I have the auto Gloria - it's a drag racing machine !

;) ;)

OK, back on Topic - IF Nissan was to sell the R35 GTR, how much do you reckon it would be ??? >$100K ????

i'd expect sumfin that's about 20k more expensive than a top of the range 350z. Altho if they're bringing out a GTR, they'll have a GTt and a GT variant... fo the ppl that can't afford a top of the range car.

OK, if, in 4 years they are less than $150K and I am working for a company that does a novated lease / salary sacrifice and I am still not married then I will 'think' about getting one.

Until then - The GTS-t and Gloria will have to do me ! ;)

meh, once I hit 30 I'm buyin myself an R34 front 350RS Stagea Stationwagon. Fun to transport family in and you have an RB26DETT with a 5" turbo back exhaust to push you along... mmm

Hang on a minute, I thought Nissan separated the Skyline from the GTR as far as the name was concerned. Have they changed their minds again or have the news sites got it wrong?

Either way Nissan Australia importing the GTR isn't good for anyone other than Nissan. It will just mean higher priced cars holding their value for longer, which is bad news for enthusiasts.

    • Working through possible solutions of converting my mechanical speedo.    Anyone know what type of speedo sensor the factory r34 gtr getrag has ? what the output is ? I assume its not a VSS and more a voltage like earlier speedo sensors ? Can an ECU read it ?

    • I can get more photos of it here soon and I plan to make a thread detailing the process. I received the car this way and it sorely needs refinishing. That is probably the most appealing photo of it. Up close it is fading, cracked, and needs to be re-glued. Depending on their condition I'm on the fence between refinishing or making a new set.  Another angle hiding the pimples and razor pumps
    • According to this thread the RS4V with build plate RC40 comes with the R200 diff @ 4.083 ratio as well (mine has said RC40 denotation). We may need to check if the axle stubs are the same pattern as well. The auto subframes have longer axles. However I think yours being a later Series 2 as well, we should have the same bolt pattern for the diff stubs. Unless your upgraded rear also has upgraded axles. Either way, I would not be opposed to pulling the covers to check so I can inspect that  fancy rear core  Also I don't have HICAS. I don't believe that should change things but I hope the people here with heaps more experience than me can correct me if I'm wrong   Let me know if you want to attempt to make this work and I can get some pictures of mine from under the car.
    • It's not that straightforward. For example I have had this code because my ignitor/power transistor wires were unplugged. It knows something is wrong but has no idea what it means. If you want to actually diagnose this I recommend following the service manual flowchart for code 21. Ohm out the harness, coilpacks, inspect the ECU, etc. And again, it's entirely possible for there to be no problem at all but if you're running a different coilpack it'll trigger the code because it doesn't like what it sees.
