I found this by pure chance and it has some usual features .

I'm not sure which comp wheel this one has but will look around , Brett says that one of them uses the 76.2mm 52 trim GT37 compressor - same as the 3037 52T .

Possibilities in altered form , cheers A .

I'm pretty sure that's just a normal off the shelf item from Garrett.

Very overpriced too. They're at least a few hundred cheaper locally.

Who is Brett?

Have to agree, that looks a little old school and at 500hp rating isn't worth it. Still prefer the 3076 in anti surge configuration. The problem with these things is if nobody has tried it then what if you strap it on and it gives up the ghost at 250kws. Or ends up a laggy 3040 type turbo. That price looks a little high as suggested to, do yourself a favour and go to the ATP turbo site in the States. Got all my stuff there and is cheap. Then again, buy Australian and if you get it all from the one place maybe a discount is in order. As I said in my PM Adrian, just go with the .82 exhaust option and if you try this turbo, who knows, it may work out. I am not into external waste gates but then again as we've discussed the 63 housing with a 50mm waste gate should give you the best of both worlds. Still prefer the bigger housing though.

Brett from GCG I believe.

Only relying on memory here...but doesn't the 2876 use a 52 trim 76mm comp wheel/housing - which may be the source of the compressor side of this setup.

Late Edit: Actually no, I just checked and the 2876 uses a 48 trim 76mm comp wheel and .70 comp housing - close but no cigar.

No a GT3071R has a GT30 turbine (normal or cropped) with a 71.1mm 56T compressor wheel .

A GT3037S is a HKS marketed GT3076R having a GT30 turbine and a 76.2mm GT compressor , "S" in HKS's case means with the port shrouded compressor housing . The plain inlet snout ones are just called 3037 or GT3037 .

Doesn't matter anyway because that turbo in the above link is the wrong comp wheel style so no good .

Got the spies looking for either the right turbo or at least the right cartridge which appears to be available .

A .

So much choice. Well, look at the bright side, 10 years ago things were mighty different. To3 or To4, take your pick. Hey Adrian, what mods have you got so far ? Your not planning on cams or going for a rebuild are you ?

Just about to call you , hopefully talk this afternoon .

BTW I followed a link from an SR site to a HKS Japan site and this is what they say about their 3037 52T kit for S15 Silvias inc supposed dyno graph .

Now I know an S15 SR20DET is very different from an R33 RB25 and my guess is that an unopened late SR20 would be in a pretty soft state of tune . Can anyone who reads Japanese tell me whats been done to it please .

Funny you found this, I have been speaking with a reputable garrett turbo wholesaler in South Aus and was talking about the Garrett GT3076R.

They have 2 types that they sell, one is the GT3076R with anti surge compressor housing and .82 ext gate rear housing to suit, Trim is something like - 57 comp wheel, 55 turbine wheel.

The other is pretty much the same turbo with the 4" bell mouth compressor housing like the GT30R, with .82 ext rear housing - trim is 54.97 comp wheel, 53 rear turbine wheel.

Priced fairly differently, would there be an issue going with the GT3076R without the anti surge housing? all supporting mods looking for around 270-280rwkw.

Do a search, but I remember reading somewhere that some [note not all] users were experiencing surge.

I have the 100mm port shroud 'with all the supporting mods' and have not had any issues, but it depends on too many things to say that this will or will not happen.

Defining 'all supporting mods' is a key issue.

    • It is a kunfine Android screen . Does anyone know the wirering diagram of the fuga ??
    • just an update to this, poor man pays twice  Tried sanding down the pulleys but it didnt do the trick. Chucked another second hand alternator in the na car which I got for free off my mate and its fixed the squelling. Must have been unlucky with the bearings.    As for my turbo car, I managed to pick up a cwc rb alternator conversion bracket + LS alternator for 250 off marketplace, looked to be in really good nick. Installed it , started the car and its not charging the battery.... ( Im not good with auto elec stuff so im not sure if this was all I needed to do but I verified such by using a multimeter on the battery when the engine was running and I was only getting 12.2v )   I had to modify the earth strap for the new LS alternator , factory earth strap was a 10mm bolt which did not fit the bolt on the LS alternator which was double the size so I cut it off , went to repco bought some ring terminals that fit, crimped it onto the old earth strap and bolted it up to the alternator , started the car and same issue. Ran like shit and was reading 12.2 at the battery.  For a "plug and play" advertised kit thats not very plug and play but alas.  My question is , am I missing something ? Ive been reading that some people recommend upgrading the stock 80 amp alternator fuse to a 140 amp but I dont see how that would stop the alternator charging especially at idle not under load.  Regardless ive pulled it out and am going to get it bench tested by an auto elec tomorrow but it would be handy to know if ive missed something silly or have done something wrong.
    • My wild guess is that you have popped off an intake pipe....check all of the hoses between the turbo and the throttle for splits or loose clamps.
    • Awesome, thanks for sharing!
    • To provide more specific help, more information is needed. What Android screen? What is its wiring diagram? Does the car's wiring have power at any required BAT and ACC wires, and is the loom's earth good?
