Hello everyone,

It's been a long time since I posted on here last, a lot of people probably don't know who I am (or forgot I even existed :-p) as I've been out of the scene for so long, but I'm finally getting close to getting my line back on the road again.

For those who don't know I've been out of action for a while due to a break in on my car last year, which saw my interior get a bit trashed. Subsequently I had to buy & fix up a cheap hot hatch to get around in before attending to my busted up baby.

While it's been of the road I've fixed up a few other things on it so I can just drive it when I'm done & not have to touch it..... well for a little while anyway. Anyhow, after countless complications I'm finally getting close to completing restoring/fixing up my ride and need a little advice.

One thing that needs fixing is the steering wheel as the looser that tried to steal it managed to put several cuts in the leather so it will need re-wrapping (a new wheel is a bit pricey at over $1k!). So what I would like to know is who people would recommend to do leather work for their car.

I have previously had a quote from Wilshire & if they are considered the best then that's who I'll do it through, though I wouldn't mind be surprised if someone else can do it better.

All opinions welcome, hope to see you all on the road soon.

Cheers, Jared

f**k me! Welcome back mate, loooong time no see. Last time I saw you was at a lunch at the Ale House. You'll find things have changed dramatically around here but still got a few of the old timers around.

To answer your question, yes I have heard only good stories about Wilshire, bit on the pricey side but hey, you get what you pay for don't ya?

Hope to see more of ya mate, been tooooo long!

theres a place down south that a mate of mine used to retrim his f100... work was good and pricing was reasonable... ill give him a bell in the morning and get the name for you.

colin at hut-trim in lonsdale.

Hey Jarad good to see your getting it finalised, as Luke mentioned things are very different around here now and you either like it or lump it, there are no more cruises and no more dinners everyone seems self absorbed in beating my post count but dont worry about quality or substance :D

I still have your number so if anything goes down ill keep you in the loop

hey mate, welcome back. Hope your Line is fixed soon and out & about! I will organise a paintball outing shortly so you had better come for some shooting!

I had my wheel done on the S15 by Car Toys, who I later found out just sent it to Willshires and then charge $100 on top of what Willshires chrage. Needless to say I was unimpressed, but the quality of the work was great.

hey jarad, good to see your still kicking around.

if your still around down south, try the retrim shop in mclaren vale. they do alot of leather on boats and cars etc.

it's just off main rd behind the shell petrol station, cant remember the name though.

There is a guy at Seaford up the road from my work that is pretty good ive seen some of his work. Im pretty sure its called pro stitch interior, its just off of seaford road on shearer drive. may be worth a look if your from down south

But these 2 are between home and work, and are also closer to home, i will also look at these ones.

I am wanting some R33 GTR seats recovered eventually, also the steering wheel, and almost the rest of the interior :P.

Yeah has been way too long mate, last time I would have seen a number of people was at the Mawson Lakes Hotel. My line got broken into a couple weeks after that gathering.

Go see a place called Winner products. There on main tce at Richmond. I've got some stuff there at the moment getting done.

They're not that too far away from me, as I live in the western suburbs now days. So will definantely check them out, would like to see the quality of their work too. I may also add that I'm thinking I'll get the gear stick cover redone too, so the interior should be looking A1 by the time it's all done.

Hey Steve, yeah does sound like things have changed quite a bit, kinda scary!

Will probably be about 6 weeks before the line is on the road (I'm always thinking of other little stuff I can fix/mod), but anything that's happening will be good to know about.

Thanks everyone for the warm rewelcoming & the help so far. Looks like I've got some work to do. :P

If you enjoy a more traditional manual, its the choice no question.
