Hi everyone,

Had one crap day,all i had to do today was drive the car on the trailer and then sunday drive it to melb for its first tune.

well last weekend finished putting the new engine in my car and started it without and issue, was lumpy and running rich (it has big cams) but it ran and i got it to operational temp then tuned it off cheaked for leaks and ect.

finished up and started it drove it out the shed into another shed and noticed the 4wd light was on so checked the fluid in the boot and it was dry, i filled it up and over filled it oh well ill just bleed it out next weekend (this one).

Arrive today at 8 in the morning was cold nd i was grumpy, jumped in the car to moved into the other shed with the hoist to drain the ova filled transfer case fluid, but the car wouldnt start? i tried everything it sorta stumbled with a fire but no luck, in the end i wiped the pfc tune and went to set up the injectors 800cc sard but i forgot the latancey dose anyone know?

finally pushed it on the hoist and removed the transfer case fluid line in the back of the gearbox, it had presure in there and abit of fluid came out, tuned the car ign to the the on position to prime the pumps to push more fluid out but the pump wont fire up? i have checked everything but cant get it to fire up even when i have the car tuning over it wond push any fluid out.

i will be taking it to the dyno monday and just dumping it there i recon i have had enough off the dam car.

yeh thats what im thinking but stupid me in my wisdom wiped the pfc and forgotthe latancey for the injectors, i got new plugs here but there is no point putting them in untill its at the dyno shop or they will just foul again i recon, i had a go at cleaning the old plugs but didnt change anything.

i used gun gleaner and a paint brush they look ok (paint gun glean)

any one got the latancey for 800cc sards? im lazy and dont want to push it out the shed again.

but the 4wd is what im worried about but might just have to wait till its running

.8 gap and chamion iridium, got new splitfire plugs ones to go in for the dyno will be gaping the new ones to 1 because i have new coils so will see if it blows out the spark then close the gap up if needed

Also, the fluid inside the transfere case and the fluid for the resiviour in the boot are sepperate if i remember

draining the transfere case doesnt mean the level of the resoviour in the boot will go down, the resiviour in the boot is used for the hydrolic accuation of the transfere case.

you can bleed the lines at the pump above the diff if you want the resiviour down.

sounds like you have bigger problems, the car will work in 2wd mode, once you get it going

bin them they are junk and fit bcpr7es.

did you unplug the attessa bleed jumper under the dash? (little white plug)

and my life gets worse!

Dropped the gtr off monday at the dyno shop and headed back hm with the patrol and trailer 500k trip back home got 460k and blew the engine in the patrol.

done some quick research and found that 3.0 turbo disel partols suk arse and if you have one sell it now! ours had only done 130,000k and we have owned it since new, there is a common problem the pistons melt around the 100,000k mark.

Bugger sorry to hear, yeah unfortunatley thats a common 3.0t patrol issue. One good thing though is that parts are cheaper than say if you blew a tb48 etc...

lol just been looking at the list of engines i have killed

magna (was half dead wheni got it in my deffence)

rx7 ser1 13b

r30 skyline multi engines about 4

honda prelude 89

    • You just need to remove the compressor housing, not the entire turbo. I would not be drilling and tapping anything with the housing still on anyways.
    • So, I put my boat on a boat. First of all, I'm going to come out and say it. Why is Tasmania not considered a holy goal, an apex that all road-legal modified cars go to, to experience? This place is an absolute wonderland of titanic proportions. If people are already getting club runs for once in a lifetime 30 person cruises to Tassy then I've never seemed to see it. It is like someone replaced the entire place with an idyllic wonderland for cars, and all of the people living there with paid actors who are kind, humble, and friendly. Dear god. After doing a lap of almost all of the place I've found that it's a great way to find out all of the little things that the car isn't doing quite right and a great way to figure it all out. All in all, I drove for 4 hours a day for a week and nothing broke. I didn't even need to open the engine bay. This is by all means a great success, but it has left me with a list of things to potentially address. I also now have a 3D printed wheel fitment tool which annoyingly hasn't got any threads in it to actually assemble it. I might be able to tape it together to check the sizing I actually want to use, but it'll likely involving pulling the shocks out to properly measure travel at least at the front, and probably raise the car while I'm at it, at least in the rear. I scraped on quite a few things and I'm not sure how else to go about it. I was taking anything with a bump at what felt like 89 degree angles. And address those 10 other tasks. And wash the car. God damn it is dirty. And somehow, the weather was perfect the entire time - And because I was on the top of Mt Wellington it turns out it was very much about to freeze up there. I did something I typically never do and took some photos up there in what must have been -10 and the foggy felt like suspended ice, rather than mere fog. If you own a car in Australia, you owe it to yourself to do it.
    • Damn that was hilarious, and a bit embarrassing for skylines in general 😂 vintage car life ey. That R33 really stomped. Pretty entertaining stuff
    • Hi, I have a r32 gtr transmission. Does any of you guys have an idea how much power it will hold with the billet center plate and stock gearset? At what power level and use did yours brake with or without billet plate? Thanks, Oystein Lovik
    • Saw this replica police car based on a Mitsubishi Starion XX parked next to a 'police box' (it's literally a box) in Hirohata, Himeji City in Hyogo prefecture the other day. It's owned by Morii-san who is a local Mitsubishi Starion enthusiast. According to a local radio station blog post, he always wanted to make a police car himself based on ones he saw in his favourite Manga comics.  As it's illegal to modify a car to look like a police car and drive on the road, Morii-san tried many times to get permission from Aboshi police station headquarters nearby. They refused initially by after they got tired of that they granted him permission. However, the car can only be displayed on private property and obviously can't be registered as long as the police livery is present. The car was completed at a cost of 1.5 million yen (US$ 10,000) in addition to the car cost. A location was chosen outside Hirohata Police box where the car can easily been seen from the street. Morii-san has two other Starion road cars, both widebody GSR-VRs.
