Repairs On Kenwood Dvd Module

hey guys was wondering if anyone if sydney west knows how to repair a kenwood kvt-739 module has some water damage not sure whats wrong with it but apparently can be fixed anyone no anywhere i could take it or do the repairs them self? of course all cost would be coverd

yeh basically the screen and everything turns on has full power except when its turned on it displays on the screen protect in the manual it say that when protect is displayed the protective circuit has been activated because something has earthed out so im guess when the water got in it it shorted something out somewhere (also was not my fault the guy who did the window tinting got water in it ) just thought u would add that lol. b4 this have never had any problem with it

yeh i called them they want about 400$ just to look at it but apparently someone who can fix electronics would be able to fix it i just dont know anyone

do you know how to reset the unit? if there was something physically wrong with it i doubt it would go into protect that like, iv seen a kenwood headunit do the same thing before for no apparent reason and a simple reset fixed it.

yeh man sure do i tried everything believe me and aslo when we plugged a new module in it worked strait away

pay the money. I dare say that the amplifer in it has been killed. that IC alone is $100. if you are trying to skimp on the $400 repair bill - don't. once you fix that side of it something else will fall over.

how much liquid got into it and do you STILL have power applied to it?

no i dont i already got a new unit which is shit compared to that one soo there for i wanna get it repaired and why would i pay 400 when i been told will cost like 50$ to repair

it won't. the power IC alone is a $100 IC. been there already.
