well i read everything but the last few posts by Roy, but im sure it will be more of the same.

I would just like to say I think Ingal's a bit of a tool, but Skaife had the major fault here. Neither of them should have dont what they did - but on the day Skaife was the bigger tool. I have met skaife many times and is a good bloke, but boy he shits me on TV... hes such a girl... he whines about everything.

and on another Russel Tool Ingal note, who remembers race 1 from Surfers. Russels pit crew let him out right in front of Murphy, creating contact. Long story short, Ingal blasted Murphy for being selfish with his race wins! Thats when I decided i no longer like him.

haha

Just saw this thread and was totally surprised by all this Ingall bashing, I say good on him. I wouldnt let Skaife bully me around on a racetrack either. "Rubbings Racing" This is what motorsports about hard driving and controversy, (just a simpfification dont tell me there's more to it than that I KNOW).

Afterall we all here talking about it and thats a good thing.

Even swerving at skaife on the next lap through it was just a gesture not like he wanted to run him down, Ingall knew skaife shouldnt have been there next to the track and I bet in hindsight so did Skaife.

Skaife is a bitch.

ps. FORDS killed it this year. Most respect to Ambrose

Oh and Murphy's a true Holden driver,

So ultimately the finding is that Ingall is wrong and Skaife wears no blame for his part.

Thankyou, Cretins Against Motor Sport (CAMS). I thinke the stewards need some time on track to stay current.

Mind you Ingall was charged with bringing the sport into disrepute - really? A class that is so obviously a farce?

Yes Roy, we need to see the end of large wings and reduce tyre size/adhesion. But also remain realistic as far as divergance from the stock motor car.

actually skaife only appealed the bringing the sport for brining the sport into disrupute...both he and Ingall are still guilty re the on track incident.

I think its a disgrace the skaife was let off on appeal...thats saying its OK to ignore safety marshalls and stand on the track during a race...

well i read everything but the last few posts by Roy, but im sure it will be more of the same.

Have i been talking too much

Heard some good news the other day, Cameron McConville has got a drive for GRM, heres to hoping there a few more teams join HRT, Kmart & SBR in the winners circle!

What are ppls thoughts of Dumbrell, i know its tough call to expect too much, but i think Winterbottom showed he may perhaps be a notch or two above Dumbrell.

What are the chances of Larry dumping him for say Mezera... i have noticed Larry hasnt been so supportive of Dumrell late in the year when Dumbrells performances have been questioned, id love to Mezera get a good seat alongside Richards.

Dumbrell has the cash behind him and thats the only reason he still has a seat, but i dont think he will last much longer unlett he improves big time.

I think winterbottom will make a big impression this year as well, i dont think it will take long before he starts to beat bargs and while the team wont allow him to win races it will provide some good experience when he moves back to stone bros

I think winterbottom will have a big impact 3 or 4 races in no doubt about him being a big talent. I dont think Dumbrell will stay in much longer if he doesnt start showing some results ie you would want to be confident enough to put him in the same car as steven richards for sandown/bathurst. The person I was most impressed with and who may have been a real contender if he had a VY was Rick Kelly. I think he will do well next year as well.

As for the Skaife being let off for bringing the sport into disrepute I thought he was appealing the careless driving decision or was that the running out on the track? if it was the running out on the track im against it. If it was the driving I'm for it. hope that made sense.

Just checked the original charges ( http://www.cams.com.au/content.asp?PageID=...le&ObjectID=299) against the lasted finding and Skaife did not appeal the staying on the track incident and Ingall did not appeal the swerving at skaife incident (if it was indeed that) he appealed the bring the sport into disrepute charge.

Lets just settle this, they're both tools

Ingall has drivng technique which is to push people off the road, whilst Skaife thinks he owns the championship.

None of them are anywhere near the class of Peter Brock.

Ingall and Ambrose are champs, There the best drivers out on the field that I've seen in a long time, Nuff said.

Whilst I must admit, I am a little jelous with Ford getting Ambrose, but with Ingall, well you can keep him, there are heaps more blokes in the series that are better then him

Yeah sorry, I was wrong way round. Skaife appealed the on track fine not hte brining the sport into disrepute charge.

Saw a funny quote from Ingall in Motorsport news "If I was trying to hit him - they'd still be pulling him out of the radiator"

lol

The young guys who've won konica and then hit the big time always have the same problem....everyone there is as quick as them....they may be v similar cars but it is a huge step up. And the problem is if they haven;t won the championship in 4-5 years everyone thinks they've failed...and there are 4 or 5 new young quick guys coming thru instead.

BTW it was still clearly skaife's fault...and nothing more than a racing incident :(

In my best Joe Pesci - Goodfellas/Casino voice "Why you no good...!!!" :argue:

Watching some old races the other day, Tander, Todd Kelly and i think Weber or was it Ambrose (i watched too many... including the old F1 GP meet where Weber won the FF race tat was full of carnage) and some other young whipper snappers were all racing in FF race, i think it was a '97 event when Tander won the series.

I like looking back at old FF series and looking at some of the match ups like Lowndes, McConville and Steve Richards etc etc. Just think Mezera beat his teammate Alain Menu in the England FF series, and was placed ahead of Eddie Irvine in the championship! Kind of like where are they now! :D

    • Hi, is the HKS  Tower Bar still available ? negotiable ? 🤔
    • From there, it is really just test and assemble. Plug the adapter cables from the unit into the back of the screen, then the other side to the car harness. Don't forget all the other plugs too! Run the cables behind the unit and screw it back into place (4 screws) and you should now have 3 cables to run from the top screen to the android unit. I ran them along the DS of the other AV units in the gap between their backets and the console, and used some corrugated tubing on the sharp edges of the bracket so the wires were safe. Plug the centre console and lower screen in temporarily and turn the car to ACC, the AV should fire up as normal. Hold the back button for 3 sec and Android should appear on the top screen. You need to set the input to Aux for audio (more on that later). I put the unit under the AC duct in the centre console, with the wifi antenna on top of the AC duct near the shifter, the bluetooth antenna on the AC duct under the centre console The GPS unit on top of the DS to AC duct; they all seem to work OK there are are out of the way. Neat cable routing is a pain. For the drive recorder I mounted it near the rear view mirror and run the cable in the headlining, across the a pillar and then down the inside of the a pillar seal to the DS lower dash. From there it goes across and to one USB input for the unit. The second USB input is attached to the ECUtec OBD dongle and the 3rd goes to the USB bulkhead connected I added in the centre console. This is how the centre console looks "tidied" up Note I didn't install the provided speaker, didn't use the 2.5mm IPod in line or the piggyback loom for the Ipod or change any DIP switches; they seem to only be required if you need to use the Ipod input rather than the AUX input. That's it, install done, I'll follow up with a separate post on how the unit works, but in summary it retains all factory functions and inputs (so I still use my phone to the car for calls), reverse still works like factory etc.
    • Place the new daughterboard in the case and mount it using the 3 small black rivets provided, and reconnect the 3 factory ribbon cables to the new board Then, use the 3 piggyback cables from the daughterboard into the factory board on top (there are stand offs in the case to keep them apart. and remember to reconnect the antenna and rear cover fan wires. 1 screw to hold the motherboard in place. Before closing the case, make a hole in the sticker covering a hole in the case and run the cable for the android unit into the plug there. The video forgot this step, so did I, so will you probably. Then redo the 4 screws on back, 2 each top and bottom, 3 each side and put the 2 brackets back on.....all ready to go and not that tricky really.
    • Onto the android unit. You need to remove the top screen because there is a daughterboard to put inside the case. Each side vent pops out from clips; start at the bottom and carefully remove upwards (use a trim remover tool to avoid breaking anything). Then the lower screen and controls come out, 4 screws, a couple of clips (including 3 flimsy ones at the top) and 3 plugs on the rear. Then the upper screen, 4 screws and a bunch of plugs and she is out. From there, remove the mounting brackets (2 screws each), 4 screws on the rear, 2 screws top and bottom and 3 screws holding in the small plates on each side. When you remove the back cover (tight fit), watch out for the power cable for the fan, I removed it so I could put the back aside. The mainboard is held in by 1 screw in the middle, 1 aerial at the top and 3 ribbon cables. If you've ever done any laptop stuff the ribbon cables are OK to work with, just pop up the retainer and they slide out. If you are not familiar just grab a 12 year old from an iphone factory, they will know how it works The case should now look like this:
    • Switching the console was tricky. First there were 6 screws to remove, and also the little adapter loom and its screws had to come out. Also don't forget to remove the 2 screws holding the central locking receiver. Then there are 4 clips on either side....these were very tight in this case and needed careful persuading with a long flat screw driver....some force required but not enough to break them...this was probably the fiddliest part of the whole job. In my case I needed both the wiring loom and the central locking receiver module to swap across to the new one. That was it for the console, so "assembly is the reverse of disassembly"
