Very Happy today.

Finally got to drive my Line today. Went to the compliance place to have a look and take some digi pics. The guy says, here's the keys, take it for a burn - Just don't let cops see you (no rego / plates) .

Started her up - sounds sweet . Cat back 3" (Maybe 3.5") system - very straight too. Looks like it has 2 resonators and no muffler - Also Apexi type pod filter.

1st gear - whooosh second gear (standard BOV vents back thru the pod) - I plant it in 2nd - boost cuts in......, then rear wheels lose traction (is this normal) ??? Was on a normal road.

Decide to take her back to the shop (only got to third gear)

Took a look around - Luv the wheels 17" 6 spoke - R brand (R in Red) too dark to see it properly. Suspension very low & hard - Front spoiler has been scraped a little.

Rear bumper has mark on it - looks a like rope mark where they tied it down on the ship.

The car is filthy - needs a good detail.

Apexi S-AFC included - I think it is an old one - It's got 5 (or so knobs on the front - Dunno if this is any good.

Alll in all very happy.... And I get to tak it home in a week after engineering - Can't drive it tho, gotta wait for comp plates to come in. But while I'm waiting, the stereo will go in, and it will be getting a mega detail........

Cheers all - It's been a long wait !!

brendan - yeah with a good clutch you can snap thirds quite easily... hitting third hard in my car will send the back across the next lane. :D

the S-AFC, yeah thats the older model - still a VERY good unit, take it to mark at hills (see my sig) for tuning, he'll look after you.

Christian.

Oh and congrats.

Very Nice... I really wanted a silver one... maybe next time.

I know what you'll be going through now. The last week, week and a half was the worst for me. It had been SOOOOO long and there was SOOOO little time left... it seemed to take as long as the 2 months before hand!

Look forward to seeing it in the metal!!!

Black33,

It depends on plenty of things.

I have 162rwkw and can spin second sometimes third in the dry but my tyres are now pretty shot... when they were new 255/40 17's I had to push pretty hard to spin first (ie, give it 5 grand and sidestep the clutch!)

Do you only have zorst? do you also have wider wheels on the back? more rubber on the road means harder to spin.

define "hard"??

Seconds should be easy...unless you have some very good quality rubber on the back

    • Depending on how long the car sat it is very possible for injectors to be stuck open or closed, I'd get them cleaned and flow tested. Other than that, obviously when the loom changes and the car doesn't start any more....the loom is suspect so some tracing / comparing may be required
    • Harness is for a s1 Rb25det, and it is engine and lower harness.  the old harness had broken off plugs and was in very rough condition/exposed wires and splices etc. it is not able to be put back on the car, I could visually inspect to see if they had rewired any pins on the ecu plug. The fuel pump definitly isn’t turning off it’s an external pump and very loud you can hear it. Will look at the other harness tonight, am also going to pull the fuel rail and watch the injectors spray, will update here with what I find. Pretty sure at this point it has to be something to do with injectors because car will fire up on starting fluid and cas is clicking the Injectors. Fuel pressure is steady 43psi
    • Check the injectors flow evenly, and are actually flowing what you and the ECU think they should be flowing. If it's starting up on starter fluid, you have a fuel issue. Is it possible under cranking your fuel pump is turning off?   The harness you replaced, is that the whole engine harness? Do yourself a test, and drop the old harness on and plug it into the Z32 ECU. It's possible they've wired things different. From memory S1 to S2 is different in RB25 and you may have a wrong loom
    • I haven’t pulled the injectors to watch them spray yet but they are clicking from the cas and all of the spark plugs are wet with fuel. I’ve thought the cylinders were being flooded from the beginning and was hoping fuel pressure would fix it. Tonight I am going to pull the rail and watch the injectors spray. Don’t know how to test/diagnose if the plugs are firing in correct sequence but that should be a timing thing and as far as timing goes my car still has the half moon for the cas can only install it 1 way. And my mechanical timing is 100% correct I posted photos above. Confirmed with the balancer on and off.
