SAU VIC Club COMMITTEE NOMINATIONS

As you guys may know this month will be the launch of the SAU VIC club (we've just getting the legalities out of the way). In order to get the ball rolling we need to elect a committee first. We won't be having any elections, unless 2 or more people want the same position.

We have the following positions:

President

Vice President

Treasurer - Available, person with Taxation or Accounting background preferred

Assistant Events Coordinator

Assistant Membership Officer

Please nominate yourself if you are interested, please don't say "I'll help with whatever" give us a specific role you are interested in. We will evaluate if you are the proper person for the job, these positions are open only to regulars, altho feel free to nominate a regular. To be deemed a regular you must have attended at least 2 or more events. It would be even more benificial if you have shown dedication in the past (such as our Autosalon team).

Please note these positions are only a title, and your roles will be mixed. No single committee member has the power to make an executive decision, it must be committee approved. Being the president does not mean you control the club, it simply means you are the spokesperson for the club, etc.

If these are the details of the "Membership officer":

Membership officer

will have to maintain membership records

make sure that fees are collected and handed over to treasurer

coordinate event participation records

deal with members that may be acting in contrary to membership agreement

I would like to nominate myself in the role as an "assistant membership officer" as stated that is avaliable. Cheers Rob

I'd like to recommend Al for some form of position. He's a very regular cruise attender, and has organised some great ones himself. A very keen supporter of all that is SAU.

I feel that other members such as; Jameszila, inark, funkymonkey, R31Nismoid, etc. may be better suited for "vice pres.", due to their input into this club. But if they have other duties, or do not want the position, i will gladly accept that too .

Snowman's shown interest in assistant event coord, and in the case of a clash we've opted to go for a vote, however given that snowman's relatively new I reckon Al would win. I'd really like you to be vice pres though, its up to you.

As it stands now we have Vice Pres and Treasurer to fill and we're set.

Yet to hear from DJ_Leathal, NismoR34, coco69, rianto, and the other james and ex-static as well... hint hint guys...

well if thats the case al then we only need one more position "Treasurer" for someone to nominate thier time for.

In most cases people will be helping out people in different positions anyways, its a team effort and everyone in the team will be thier to help each other out if need be.

What is involved for the Treasury other than holding ALL the money [] and doing tax returns?

I do my own tax returns each year - they have been quite complex too since I have had different jobs at once - such as DJ'ing [self employment] while working as AV / PC tech...[PAYE] maybe I should throw in another acronym to seal the deal? MYOB Lol...

I dont have an accounting background otherwise i would probably be dead already [high level of suicide next to dentists] - a piece of useless trivia for ya

My wife is also VERY good with money / taxation, read: LOOPHOLES etc but ALL legal which would be a useful resource [read: my own tax biatch he he, sorry pet ]. Bitch doesnt quite have the same effect when referring to females :confused:

If its not TOO demanding a role [timewise] put me down!!!

one more note - Snowman is a really top guy who is keen for all sorts of track days and club participation so if we could offer him something that would be great!!! He also has a 34 GTR perhaps 2nd assistant assistant to the MO and EC ?
