Topgear australia what do you guys think of it?

to me their attempt of copying the great on screen trio of the original Topgear is very poor.

They try to argue just for arguing sake! It just doesn't seem genuine?

I still watch it though cause its nice to see some cars that we can actually get in Australia

they had the 370Z on there and the new GTR got 2nd around the track with the stig.

Top gear (UK) works 'cos of the chemistry.

The Australia trio come across as fake and false....they are just trying to hard instead of creating something which is unique to them.

Nobody watches Top gear UK for the in depth technical stuff or even 'objective' car reviews, it's more about the trio (their chemistry and challenges) and the cars are just props.

I couldn't agree more. I watch Top Gear UK because the three presenters have an incredible chemistry and they are very, very entertaining to watch. If I want to watch a car review then I'll hop onto www.autocar.co.uk or I'll watch 5th gear (incidentally, the Jason vs Tiff segments are very entertaining also, and those boys can DRIVE!).

The aussie Top Gear just didn't have the same chemistry as the UK show.

The problem with these other versions of Top Gear, not just the Aussie one, is that they should've found people with their own chemistry, instead of trying to find people with similar personalities as the originals. Instead, we get the older quipping guy, the young 'hip' short one, and a middle aged guy who 'shouldn't be cool, but is.

The US one would've probably lasted a lot longer with perhaps Jay Leno as the host.

I watched a subbed version of the Russian one a few months back and it was absoloutely woeful.

name it somethin completely different (think hungry jacks is to burger king)

new presentation format (i dont know 2 shelas and 2 blokes)

not have it in a shed/studio with the crowd around like the uk version, and

challenges which are not so blatenly scripted or unnecessary or pointless.

the biggest issue is everyone does compare it to the original top gear show from the uk.

i'm ranting now - i must get back to work...

The aussie show is like that because it is scripted by owned by the the bbc who own the british version

the aussies have no choice but to follow the formula from the uk .

Pity we only have 1 decent guy on the show (James Morrison) the other 2 are complete f**kwits

      Today, I'm a Breville BES920 tech, new triac board and new 3x way solenoid. Had overheating issues, home RCD tripping when it got warm, and the boiler stayed on when the machine was shut off. Also, usually 3x way solenoid chatter, this is the 3rd time I'm replacing it. Mind you, this machine is 9 year old and send it every day doing at minimum 3x double shots. When the in laws come over to took after my daughter, it will easily see 6x double shots in a single day. Tried to be somewhat compliant, crimped and then used a screw connector over the top. Would have preferred to use heat shrinks.   After all that, turns out all the overheating has damaged the o-rings to the steam tap as well. Ordered new ones, coming soon.

      I don't know about that. I can hoon my R32 around - hard launches, high lateral Gs - with <<1/4 tank without any such shenanigans. This with the previous 040 and the current GSS342. I would suspect a fuel line problem. One of the hoses associated with the top of the tank perhaps.

      This is amazing. Love that you’re giving the boys an intro to cars and off the screens. They probably have an insta for the car and build posts on TikTok for their mates.

      It is.  Your car works fine with the tank full. If you drive like a Nana it works fine.  You give it a boot full with half a fuel tank, you get surge.  It 100% is a fuel surge issue. Maybe have a look at installing a Hydramat if you don't want to install a surge tank.  https://www.holley.com/products/fuel_systems/hydramat/
