Stooge007 - just to add to what Darrin has said, you should also check that there is a performance tuning workshop in your area that can tune a Nistune chipped ECU. it would be a pain to have the chip installed to find that no-one near you can tune it. there is a list of places on the nistune site, and you could also just ring around a few workshops and ask the question.

by my counts Josh thats atleast 5 people that have shown interest. when were you looking at getting it done? i can afford to have my car off the road for a week in about 2 weeks time, from 17/10.

yes, thats just for a tune. so once you get the Nistune chip installed you could use that trader to tune it for you if you like, he says he can tune Nistune.

Guys, i'd like to start this a.s.a.p as we're moving house this weekend and shit's going to be everywhere, plus i'm at the business end of university. That being said, I'll wait for a reply from matt before i make the threads, so that I can post the answers to the questions that you guys have asked as well ;) he's generally pretty quick though :banana:

I'm still sorting out how Matt would like this run with the handeling of cash + ecu's, but ultimately how i'd like it to run, is that we run the group buy for two weeks to gather any more interested parties. you guys send your ECU's to matt over the following week, you either send me or matt the money (probably me, as i'd need to track who's paid) and he sends the items back to you as they're completed. this way there's the least amount of places for things to go wrong. this isn't set in stone though, so wait until the official thread is made :banana:

I will be ordering mine setup for 480cc injectors and Z32 set by Matt, so at least the car will run enough to get it to the tuners.

just to confirm, have you spoken to matt about the order, in conjunction with this group buy? or is there something i need to do as well?

im with kiwi. i think there should be a date that you need to pay by, so Josh can then pay Nistune and pass on the details of who has paid. but then i think it would be a good idea for people to just send there ecu's in to nistune when they get the oppotunity or can plan to have their car off the road for a week. i think this should also be within a certain time frame, 1-2 months, so as not to drag this group by out for months on end.

maybe if we want to send a few as a group we could also organise this. e.g. say all the brissy guys that can have there ecu's available at the say time can send them all down at once and save a little on postage.

well atleast for me i have one of the tv technicians at work that can do the installing part for me, just have to find out if they can still do the price without install. I need the car on the road everyday, reason being that my wife and child need it.

I'm interested but being that the Stag is my daily and the 32 is in parts I can't really have the Stag without an ECU for a week or so.

So.. are they able to just supply the board and software at the discounted rate?

Do they have stock maps they can provide so that I can load them on once I get the board installed locally? (if anyone else is in Perth and wants a board installed, let me know)

Lastly, do you know if they are able to translate maps from another ECU into Nistune maps? My stag if reasonably heavily modified and if they could come close to replicating the current tune that'd be fkn awesome!

guys: as per the 5 day thing for postage, I don't know what i was thinking at the time, lol. 5 days is a bit unreasonable. i'm currently talking to Matt about a maximum time for these to be sent though :cool:

we install the factory ROM into the board which matches the Nissan part# on your ECU. The ECU will function identically as before. For example on my GTT I installed a board about a week after getting the vehicle :cool: but we didnt upgrade the parts until many months later. First went in the injectors/turbo and I resized from factory to 480CC Nismos whilst at the fitters and got it home. After that we took it for a spin and maxed out the factory AFM quickly!!

After a few weeks was was installing Z32 AFM at my place in the driveway and then resizing inside Nistune to that. After about a week we finally took it to the dyno for a tune and that was the first mapping done on the board. So the tune is already in there and the minor tweaks required no major changes. Note that I didnt boost it until we got to the dyno because the enrichment changes are theroeticaly only and need to be checked with a wideband AFR meter

This is a tricky one... the Nissan maps are 16x16 grid and the load scaling depends on how much power your engine makes to how you setup the scaling. Nissan ECUs use a 'TP' value for load so you would need to translate the equivalent from the other ECU.

Fueling on a factory ECU use Fuel and VE maps. VE used during O2 feedback and fuel maps may be different to how the aftermarket is setup. You would probably be best starting with the factory tune and then tweaking that. For RB25DET NEOs we found with mine that the fuel map did not need much changing. Other tuners have said the same, that they basically left the factory fuel map alone as the AFRs were all good.

Probably can view the timing table from the aftermarket unit and use it as a reference I would suggest and just copy the timing maps across where possible. I wouldnt do it here though on the bench... leave that for when the car is ready to be tuned
